Very happy, at first was a little worried but it is very easy to use. We use Textura a lot but rather use GCPay.

Pros

GCPay is very straight forward and user friendly. You can tell what is needed. Great support, answers the phone right away and very knowledgeable and helpful.

Cons

Wish GCPay had electronic signing like Docusign, then you won't need to edit or scan documents that needed signing.

Compared to the other Construction software, for me it is okay. It will be great if we have provisions to edit or can-do adjustments from contractor side.

Pros

Easy to use. We can find all the documents in the same platform. It is a value for money product.

Cons

We can't do editing from Contractor side. Once the subcontractor submit the Price, Contractor needs to do assessment and do some adjustments, if necessary, which is not possible.

I truly find GCPay to be the easiest online pay application software. Auto generates your pay application. Easy to navigate the site and upload your required documents. I like the Audit Trail feature so you can track your project's payment status.

Pros

Very user friendly. Little to no learning curve for use. I like that it auto generates the pay applications for you.

Cons

Not enough of our GC use it. It would be nice if there was a way to notarize online similar to the Oracle Textura Payment Management system.

Marrette, This is so great to hear, thank you for sharing it. “Little to no learning curve” is kind of the dream, right? Glad the auto-generated pay apps and navigation are making things easier. And the Audit Trail callout, huge. Being able to track payment status without chasing people down really matters. On notarization, appreciate you raising that. GCPay does offer Remote Online Notarization through Notarize.com, so you can click “Notarize,” connect with a live notary 24/7, e-sign, and have the document automatically routed back into your pay app. No printing or in-person steps, and it’s compliant in all 50 states. Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback…really helpful.

The platform is easy to adapt to and learn, while also being dynamic and adapting to specific project demands.

On occasion the points of contact responsible for responding to invoices do not respond quickly ( this is not a problem with the platform itself)

I would much rather all contractors utilize GCPay rather than other products like Procore and Textura.

Pros

GCPay is very easy to understand, learn to use, and utilize. It is a great value for our money. It is very secure as well.

Cons

I would like to be able to tab (or enter) through my SOV when submitting billing to a contractor, instead of using the mouse to click for each billing value.

I find it very easy to use, very convenient for tracking projects and paperwork. The dashboard is great to see what is due. Would like for contractors to have to indicate when an billing has been paid.

Pros

The dashboard to see whats due is very helpful, also clicking to sign instead of printing or using excel is amazing.

Cons

Some of the displays to see whats been submitted could be more clear, also something that the contractor has to signal when the invoice has been paid would be helpful.

Overall, I would implement and pay for GCPay again and again. It has streamlined our payment processing and we couldn't be happier.

Pros

As a GC we can appreciate the security and user friendliness of GCPay. It allows us to receive pay applications from subcontractors and submit payments to subcontractors with ease and without having to manage the financial information. The system is setup to be easy, so the learning curve is very minimal. We use the compliance system to track all of our pertinent documents, including contracts and insurances. The support that is provided by GC Pay is first class. We have never had to wait longer than 20 seconds to receive a representative to help with our needs. It has definitely been money well spent.

Cons

At the time we purchased GCPay, the tiered vendor portion of the software was not what we expected, but we are still very satisfied with the development and growth they are making in that area.

### "3+ years in with GCPay"

It took a lot of time to get used to. The 1st projects that were converted over to GCPay with "catch-up' billings were disasters. ALL of the contractors had inconsistencies with the retention. Lines were off from .01 cent to .30 cents and had to be "adjusted" each month until we broke even. I hated it at first. There was no time saved in comparison to our old system until we got to the new projects. SOVs were entered onto a clean slate and numbers could be trusted.

Pros

I appreciate that the responsibility for billing is placed back on the subcontractor. I can set a due date and the system issues reminders for both billing and compliance requirements. The option to require certain documents prior to them being able to submit is top tier. I am not stuck sending out threats of non-payment each month for the items I need.

Cons

I do not like that the unconditionals must be signed up front. I have spent time convincing the subs that we will not run away with their signed unconditional without paying them. They are very leery of it the first time around. It would be helpful if there was a disclaimer or explanation to them PRIOR to signing. They only get the watermarked copy after they have signed.

What I liked most about GCPay is how user-friendly and intuitive the platform is. The layout is clear and well-organized, making it simple to navigate and complete tasks efficiently without confusion or unnecessary steps.

Cons

What I liked least about GCPay was the difficulty in locating job contacts. It wasn’t always easy to quickly find the appropriate contact information when needed, which could slow down communication.

It's a fairly easy platform to use. It would be nice if the billing/waiver process was the same for all GCs so that it is consistent for all subcontractors billing. It varies so much from GC to GC that it can be confusing at times.

Pros

It's one of the easier billing platforms to use for subcontractors. I like that it's easy to set up the schedule of values (if the GC allows that) I do like that some of our GCs are now using it to send payments rather than sending them by paper check

Cons

The sub-supplier/subcontractor waivers can be challenging because all of the GCs set those up differently. It would be nice if waivers for all sub-tiers came with blanks for the amounts so that vendors could add those in themselves insead of using the amount the 1st tier subcontractor puts in because the waivers are usually through the end of the month, but the amount billed by the sub-tier might change after it's entered into GCPay with the subcontractor's billing. I also don't like that GCs can assign several reviewers for submitted invoices. If the all the reviewers don't approve the billing in a timely manner, it can hold up payments.

As a project accountant responsible for managing pay applications in GCPay; I have had a fantastic experience working with GCPay. The program is efficient, reduces risk, and the Support team is amazing to work with. I love the chat feature and the support team is concise and always readily available.

Pros

The standardized processes and internal controls reduces risk and creates the best experience from a GC Standpoint. I value the built-in compliance tracking and automated workflows of GCPay. I no longer worry about missing conditional or unconditional lien waivers, expired insurance certificates, or incomplete documentation. The system ensures that subcontractors submit all required documents before payments are released, significantly reducing risk. The visibility of access across all projects is also great to me. The streamlined communication between accounting and operations is a great perk to provide accurate updates to PM's and Executives.

Cons

A con in GCPay I found is that we cannot turn off the Stored Material billing option by Subcontractor; it turns off the feature for all Subs on that project.

### "It pays to have GCpay!! "

Very professional customer service. If they don't have an answer which 99% of the time they do but if its a more in depth computer issue they send the request off immediately to someone who does have an answer. They know we need to get our work finished so they are fast at anything that needs to be worked on.

Pros

Its easy to learn and customer services is very fast if you have any questions. They will get back to you usually in less than 20 minutes sometimes sooner than that.

Cons

I love it so there are no negatives on my end! Once you get the hang of it then you will see how easy it is to navigate.

I love using GC Pay. I couldn't imagine trying to track all waivers and compliance without it. It also makes storing contact information easy and available when needing to contact several people.

Pros

I think the support feature is always very fast with any issues and explains things well. I think it is very organized and easy to use.

Cons

I think the addition of videos in a learning library section of the help area could be a helpful addition to when problems arise or trying to understand a new feature.

Compared to other programs it's very intuitive, easy to get around in, a huge help to have all the info we need on subs in one place and GCPay help has been amazing in answering questions, training and taking care of issues

Pros

Ease of tracking sub pay apps and compliance documents. Being able to see when are uploaded and having an audit trail that is so clear and easy to track and review is a game changer.

Cons

Hardest part is convincing subs that they need to sign up and utilize the program. it took some time but eventually most subs see the benefit.

The customer service is very prompt. They are super helpful. I like how easy it is to complete a billing compared to other billing platforms. The jobs are organized pretty well. Its easy to understand the compliance needed.

Cons

How many times we have to hit the submit button to actually submit! I would also like it if Gc Pay could list the GC's we have because sometimes the names are different and it can take time to find what we are looking for.

We really enjoy using GCPay. It’s user-friendly, efficient, and takes a lot of stress out of managing pay applications. The support team deserves special recognition — they’re quick to respond and genuinely helpful every time we’ve reached out. It’s been a great experience all around.

Over all a very good payment processing site. I would highly recommend to other contractors. It seems to be growing in popularity as well.

Pros

GC Pay streamlines billing payment applications. Easy to use and user friendly. The website makes it easy to review previous billings and track change orders issued.

Cons

I do not like that you can not type exceptions for past unpaid months on the conditional progress digital releases. This should be added.

I think it's a great product that has saved us a lot of time and headache. I don't think we could ever go back to how we used to enter billings.

Pros

The user-friendly interface and how well it syncs with Vista. Also, it prevents typos/mistakes on hand-written pay applications. Oh, and GCPay support is exceptional. Very fast service, and always helpful.

Cons

Two main issues are that GCPay wont delete change orders that have been un-interfaced/unapproved in Vista if they've already been added to a subs SOV. Also, T&M subcontracts don't work very well with GCPay

### "Honest review of my experience."

My over all experience has been easy, stress free and for the most part problem free. Nothing is difficult to find on the site and questions are easy to find the solution for.

Pros

I love how user friendly GCPay is, it only took me a couple days to completely understand the whole website. It is super simple to track payments and send billing. Compared to other websites I believe GCPay is the best for the value of what you receive. The website feels secure and getting contractors approvals I very easy too navigate. I rate this 10/10.

Cons

Not much I dislike about GCPay, other than I feel like the process of transferring account owner ship inter company is more difficult than it needs to be. For when some gets fired or leaves, I don't feel the company should make a completely new account on GCPay just to change the Signature for document signing.

I would describe it as life changing. It has been able to help manage and automate the hassle of billings into a streamlined process that makes things not just easier for the GC but also on the subcontract/PO side!

Pros

I love GCPay for it lien waiver, SOV, and pay application procedures. It is able to streamline things amazingly. I also really love the report functions, those are super helpful!

Cons

I think the lien waiver process needs to be refined. I have to reach out to GCPay support if a final waiver generates and it turns out that pay application is not the last pay app if a change order comes out of the blue.

### "GCPay makes billing so easy!"

Overall, my experience has been very pleasant. Billing with GCPay is faster than standard AIA format billing and payments seem to come quicker.

Pros

This application is very easy to learn how to use. I like that the contractor can specify what documents are required for billing and when they are required so there's no guessing and/or delay of payment for missing docs. So far, payments from GCPay customers have been more timely than other AIA billing methods.

Cons

Occasionally, the application allows a contractor to set it up to require a Final Unconditional Lien Waiver before you can submit the billing, when we haven't been paid yet. This shouldn't be allowed. We're just billing so of course we haven't been paid and I do not like having to sign away our rights to lien if we never get paid just to be able to bill.
