It takes a big chunk of my manual labor away from me through automation. Pros This is a briliant platform. The fact that they offer 200 devices for free forever is a brilliant solution for small institutions. The interface is easy to get used to and it is very powerful tool. Cons I did not find anything yet. Mind you, I am using it only for around of 2 months. June 30, 2025 5.0 Pros The ability to automate patching from a centralized log that is also able to execute commands remotely instead of having to rely on Windows logs and SCCM. Cons I don't like the fact that RDP cannot be permanently disabled. It is only disabled via a policy in the dashboard which leaves a security gap if someone were to steal admin creds to our portal. I haven't found another free patching tool (supporting up to 200 endpoints) that can compete with its current features and reliability. Pros It is incredibly powerful and versatile, meeting almost all of our requirements. Remarkably, it still offers full functionality for up to 200 endpoints at no cost. Cons It would be great if you could filter updates knowing that they wouldn’t require a reboot, we could schedule those more frequently in that case. The platform is incredibly easy to set up and use, making it accessible even for those with limited technical expertise. The free offering for up to 100 endpoints is a huge plus, especially for small businesses looking to manage their patching needs without incurring additional costs. The real-time vulnerability assessment and comprehensive patch management ensure that all systems are up-to-date and secure. However, the lack of support for macOS and Linux is a drawback. Despite these minor cons, Action1 is a powerful and efficient tool for managing endpoint security. I'd highly recommend as this product it is what I required in terms of patch management solution, unlike alternative products where they have multiple products in 1 solution which is too much and costly for features not required. Pros I liked the fact it monitors vulnerabilities near real time which helps us address and remediate them. It helps me patch Windows and 3rd party applications with ease as is quite user-friendly. Public roadmap with voting feature helps us know what is being prioritized in terms of features and new releases. Cons No integration with Intune or App, I needed to create a Win32 app which isn't too much of a big deal but could be better in that sense. Limited to Windows at the minute although MacOS is due soon and Linux in the near future as per their roadmap. Immediately we noticed an improvement in patching effectiveness, and our Nessus vulnerabilities started declining thanks to the automated patching process that goes off of the number of days since release. We have multiple tiers of patching groups setup with each installing patches 1 day after release, then 5, then 10. Ensuring a complete patch rollout within two weeks of release. Pros Extremely easy to use, automated patch deployment based on # days since release. No more manually approving updates through the environment. Cons Vulnerability management features can be overwhelming. It gave us so much transparency and insight into our network endpoints, and at the same time gave us the tools to fix our problems and streamline our workflow. Pros Action1 is incredibly easy to setup and hit the ground running. It gives you immediate insight into your environment's vulnerabilities so you know where to focus your attention. Cons While Action1 is always improving as a product, it is still missing some features that I need other tools to accomplish. The offer of 100 free endpoints with full-feature access convinced us to upgrade and manage our entire IT estate. It was key in helping us achieve and maintain Cyber Essentials Plus certification. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Action1 to others. It is far superior to anything else we’ve tried and offers excellent value for money. Pros 100 free endpoints with full-feature access. June 30, 2025 5.0 I discovered Action1 as someone's reference on Reddit. I installed and tried it with only two computers. I was amazed at how powerful and yet easy to use this product is. I have about 300 computers to manage, 180 of them use Windows 11, and I am planning on expanding to around 220 soon. I am the IT Director at a K12 school, and this product has made my daily life simpler. Thank you! The free first 100 forever policy is awesome for small businesses and to thoroughly test the program's features before expanding. Cons I believe the software repos could be managed a little easier. On the updates pane, approving updates could be better as you have to confirm that you want to deny older updates every time. Head of Software Development Hospitality Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "A fantastic entry into the RMM environment" August 1, 2024 5.0 The business model for Action1 is fantastic, the 100 free endpoints forever was a fantastic hook to get us to give the product a go and from there we have been using it daily for years. When our company outgrew the 100 endpoint limit, it was a no brainer to sign up to for a paid plan and the pricing is extremely competitive. We trialed other products, most of which were very expensive, usually because they include PSA or other "addons" which we just do not need as a business. Pros The deployment agent was incredibly easy to install and within minutes all of our online endpoints had been onboarded onto the platform. The remote control tool, while basic is by far the most reliable tool i have used on an RMM platform and have never had issues connecting to and endpoint. The inbuilt reports are fantastic and the ability to create a custom report from basically any dataset that is captured by Action1 has been brilliant. For us the best part has been the ability to upload our custom enterprise application installers and provide the correct flags, switches and post install scripts to run automatically on endpoints, it took setting up a new work station from a multi-hour job, to a few clicks. Cons The user interface is a little but clunky in places and there are a few QOL features that could be improved upon, such as ability to customise the visible columns on the Endpoint overview, or easily view which endpoints are currently not allocated to a group. Though most of the issues i have are minor and some are in progress to be deployed in their roadmap. I’ve used many other products for patch and vulnerability management, and they’re all inferior to this one. Pros The ease of setup is unsurpassed and we always feel like the product works as expected. Very pleased after 2+ years.
