August 17, 2021 5.0 I used to have to spend an hour each month matching a shoebox filled with receipts to my credit card bills. Now I don't even have to keep the paper receipts. I simply scan them with Veryfi, and in seconds, i have a digital copy with all the important info already populated into categories (payment type, expense category, merchant, date, etc). Then at the end of the month, their intuitive web based platform matches all my expenses to any bank feeds I have linked. What used to take me an hour now takes minutes! Pros Veryfi is very easy to use and has some great features. I love how easy it is to scan paper store receipts, or email web based receipts. It uses the latests security protocols (Yodlee handles all the bank/credit card integrations, they use 2FA to log in) and has saved me a ton of time managing my expenses. Cons In cases where a receipt has multiple expenses which are considered separate purchases (Amazon does this a lot), the software requires multiple steps to separate them. When I'm matching credit card charges from linked accounts to my Veryfi receipts, I have to leave the bank feed section, go into the documents section, and clone the receipt to separate the charges, then go back to the bank feed section to match the receipts. I hope they can design a shortcut within the bank feed to accomplish this, to cut down on steps. System Administrator Information Technology and Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Automated and simple-to-use, compatible with practically everything" May 10, 2022 4.0 After using it for a couple of years, the only difficulty I had was accurately recording revenue to construct a P&L. My CPA and I had a number of difficulties with the software, and the developers worked with us to fix them. In general, I was encouraged to make the transfer to QuickBooks by my CPA. Pros The quickest and most efficient approach to keep track of your receipts is to scan them as soon as you receive them. Excellent OCR and alignment correction are provided by Veryfi. Taking images and uploading receipts is simple. It was convenient to be able to utilize the spending category names that I desired. If I wanted to monitor a specific customer, for example and figure out how much money I spent on that individual, I could add "tags" to my spreadsheet. Cons Income was inverting figures and not appropriately displaying P&L reporting back when I used it frequently Since then, I believe this bug has been fixed. I was with all popular Ex\*\*\*\*\*\*\* for several years when I received an email from fbe CEO stating that anyone that did not agree with him politically was “unpatriotic” I am sure many reading this are aware of this. This disgusted me because I would not continue to do business with them after reading such an asinine statement. I was upset because other than Zoho and Concur I did think any company offered the same product with credit integration. Many that do often have a 5 user minimum which is not practical for most small businesses. For weeks I searched and demoed options. All we're either none-intuirive, offered poor support or too inferior to the app I was leaving. Somewhere I stumbled on Veryfi and after visiting the page, expected it was too good to be true. I was just waiting to read “5 user minimin” or see some red flag on it's limitations. Finding Veryfi was equal to stumbling upon a Gold ingot. Not only did it check every box I required, it truly proved that even big names line Expensify offer little time savings when it comes to reconciling recieots, expenses and creating reports. I can say this with certainty as someone that has had used the Concurs, Expensifies and Zohos of the world or many years. I thought I was happy and thought I was using the best until I tried Veryfi. I am not exaggerating when I say that it is on a different level on almost every single day. Pros I like the ability to integrate credit cards. Not only from the 4-5 largest banks but from hundreds of banks. This is not seen from competitors. For example, I have a Amazon Visa but also have an Amazon Store Credit card (no visa/mastercard). I also have a best buy store credit card (again only good at that business. I was floored to see that Veryfi integrated with these too! Cons So far, I am a couple of months last the 30 day free trial. Other than using the software have not taken the time to really customize it to my business and automate to.many tasks. No complaints this far and I hope that will stay the same. Veryfi is proceed $10 more per than similar products but I did not hesitate due to the enormous value. Value is price/precieved benefit. Veryfi’s price is among the highest per single user programs but it’s value is unmatched! He would whine a lot things, almost blame customers for the financial woes at the company, almost threaten customers if they failed to switch to the new Expensify card etc. Price increases are normal and we get that. But he once increased prices at the very lowest point economically did to COViD19 that make the company feel like a victim, never thinking how much the Pandamic may have affected the lives of customers. It ended up making them look like jerks for raising prices. I liked being able to categorize with the names that I preferred to use for my expenses. I could add "tags" too which was helpful if I wanted to track a particular client for example and determine how much I spent on that person, or that property, for example. \*Please note that while I selected my use as "monthly" I was using it monthly and then didn't use it for about a year, and I'm wanting to get back to it (I've been paying for it and QB this whole time and not ieither one, fully). Pros I used this software for a couple of years, and the only issues I had were logging income so that an accurate P&L could be created. The developers worked with me and my CPA to correct the issues we were having and I really appreciated their responses to our concerns. Overall, my CPA recommended that I switch to QuickBooks. I did, but it's been not easy to use, has poor customer service and is overpriced and too "busy/cluttered" for what I need which is simplicity because my business is simple. I wish I had kept up with Veryfi's expense tracker, because changing programs is not easy to do even in a simple business. I would recommend Veryfi for sure! I think they even resolved the issues I had in the past. Cons Back when I was using it regularly, the income option was reversing numbers and not accurately representing P&L reports. As I said above, QB support is nearly absent or not relevant to my business and I only needed a little bit of help getting things set up but they help was simply not there and the program while it had it's benefits, was not all that great. Founder Internet Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Just works" September 17, 2020 5.0 Overall our experience has been great. Getting instant results simplifies development a lot, since it's not needed to keep track of submitted items and fetching results later. The process from signup to development and using the product has been very streamlined. Support is awesome, too. Pros Simple, straight-forward API that is well-documented. It didn't take much effort to get started. Processing is instant - a far cry from other solutions that we used that involved humans, supposedly needed for accuracy. It turns out that's not the case: I found Veryfi's results more accurate and consistent. Very accurate in our experience. Another big pro for us is that processing is done by machines only, which means sensitive documents are not shared with anonymous contractors. Documents can be deleted via the API after processing, seconds after submitting. This means little to no concern about data security and privacy. Support has been stellar and snappy, although rarely needed. Cons Pricing per document is reasonable and even competitive, even more so considering the pros mentioned earlier. The one improvement I currently wish for is an entry-level processing tier for lower volumes. That would make it more attractive for companies who don't have enough volume yet for the current entry-level tier. But I understand that's ultimately more a positioning decision or consideration for customer support loads than an actual product improvement. Reason for choosing Veryfi Several other APIs were researched before deciding on Veryfi. Main reasons to go for Veryfi was the availability of an online demo where any documents could be uploaded. Not many alternative vendors offered this, but for those who did, the accuracy didn't come close to that of Veryfi for the documents I tried. Another factor was the signup process which, together with the online demo, suggested things are streamlined at Veryfi. Other vendors required a more formal process with requests for quotes or demos, while I wanted to get started right away and with the least possible effort. Having chosen for Veryfi, I'm glad I did and haven't looked back. Switched from [Dext](https://www.capterra.com/p/160189/Dext/) Receiptbank deprecated their API and announced a new API for years. Supposedly it's ready, but according to customer support they're not providing it to third parties. Our needs grew to the point where not having an API was no longer an option. September 13, 2018 4.0 With Veryfi I can manage all expense reports for my projects, control and see the expenses values on going, by category or vendor. And the best for me is that i can create the expense the expense report at the end of the month just with on click. It solves the problem for me to manage the expense data and documents needed for the tax information and deductions. Again, Thank you Veryfi Team. Pros The app has a very easy interface and is very fast. When you need to scan a receipt, is just one click to open the app e other to click on the camera icon! The AI take car to get all data correctly about the vendor, values and taxes. I tested a lot of apps and Veryfi is the best in document recognition for receipts. and I almost forgot the great feature that I already use in other apps for travelling that is to directly send the receipts to my @veryfi account. I really need to export all documents to sent to my tax consultant and it will be very easy if we have this option to select when we create the expense reports, like on option (x) include document images as a zip file. I love that it saves me so much time over manually entering all my expenses! Cons At $15 per month, it was almost more than I was willing to pay as a small business owner. " August 17, 2021 5.0 Love it and have recommended it to many business. Easy to learn and to use across entire organization. Pros The mobile receipt scanning is my favorite feature. The rule based options are unlimited on how you set things up to run for your workflow. Fast and efficient across any platform. Cons The only issue I have ever had is when there is an update for the software. The app will crash after taking a pic of a receipt. Pros Not only is the app fantastic, easy to organize and easy to use, but technical support and customer service is A+++! Any issues at all are handled promptly and professionally. It's premium features are also really reasonably priced! Cons The OCR and AI could use some work. I constantly am having to update the vendor due to missing or wrong information. I also had a bit of an issue importing documents from my previous solution. They all came in, but the information was lost unfortunately. It could have been done if Neat would allowed multiple CSV exports of my PDF Files, so it's not really Veryfi's fault. Neat secures you as a customer as if your documents are a prisoner. It is an incredible time saver for me as a sole proprietor, allowing me to concentrate on growing my business instead of shuffling through piles of receipts come tax time. I love that you can tag your receipts with tags YOU create, so looking up a previous purchase is super easy & convenient! Pros As a small business owner, I LOVE that my receipts are digitally captured, categorized, optionally tagged & saved in my cloud storage... all on the go! No more piles of receipts! Unfortunately it doesn't work, and I'm left hanging. Pros I love the software and systems, but receipt images are corrupted, meaning as an archival DB this is useless. The software cannot be relied on to keep your receipt images. Cons As above, customer services is hopeless. Software images corrupted and no one at veryfi seems to care much. Their prices kept creeping up, and we would only know our final cost after the processed. Also if we were a few days late, we would still pay the minimum fee for the month and then get whacked with a huge surcharge—that doesn't happen with veryfi. Pros Cost, ability to hold backup files in Dropbox or Google Drive. Instant review and verification, Cons Not much. Yes I have to verify each transaction, and sometimes correct, but then I know that the information is there ready to use and accurate—no waiting a few weeks and hopping it was done correctly. It's a con which turns into a pro! On some surfaces the auto detect doesn't work correctly or randomly. especially at Coles self serve checkouts.
