### "Good Patch Management Tool - Expecting some improvements"

August 19, 2026

4.0

Overall, my experience with ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus has been good. It makes patching much easier by helping us identify missing patches, schedule deployments, and monitor patch status from one place. There are a few areas that could be improved. Sometimes patch failures are difficult to troubleshoot because the error details are not very clear. Also, patching can consume quite a bit of space on the C: drive. It would be helpful to have an easier option to use a dedicated drive for downloading and storing patches, especially on servers with limited C: drive space. Apart from these points, it has been a useful tool and saves us a lot of manual effort.

Pros

I like the centralized management and automation the most. It significantly reduces the manual effort involved in identifying and deploying missing patches across multiple servers and endpoints. The ability to schedule deployments, manage third-party application updates, and quickly check patch compliance from one console is very useful.

Cons

The main drawback is that troubleshooting failed patches can sometimes be difficult because the error details are not always clear. Reporting could also be more flexible, with better customization and more detailed failure information. and the patching process can consume a significant amount of disk space on the C: drive, especially when multiple missing patches are downloaded and stored. This can become a concern on customer servers where the OS drive has limited free space. It would be beneficial to have a more straightforward option to configure a dedicated drive specifically for downloading and storing patches, preventing patch-related activities from impacting the available space on the OS drive. The UI works well, but it can sometimes feel a bit complicated and requires quite a few clicks to find what we need. A cleaner and more modern layout, better organization of the menus, and a more customizable dashboard would make it easier to use. It would be great if we could have a quick overview of failed patches, pending patches, compliance, and other important issues on one screen.

I felt we need for a more controlled, efficient, and centralized patch management tool, especially when managing a large number of servers and endpoints. It would be helpful to have better control over patch deployments, clearer visibility into failures, and a simpler way to manage everything from a single dashboard.

### "Strong Patch Management Platform with Room for Better Support"

August 25, 2026

4.0

Overall, Patch Manager Plus has been a valuable tool for improving our patching process and building a more consistent endpoint management approach. It gives us better control over workstation updates, compliance visibility, and patch deployment planning. The platform has strong potential for our environment, and with better support engagement, I believe we can get even more value from it.

Pros

Patch Manager Plus has helped us centralize workstation patching and gain better visibility into patch status across our environment. It makes it easier to identify missing updates, track compliance, and move away from scattered manual checks. The reporting and configuration options are useful, especially as we work toward making it our primary workstation patching platform.

Cons

The main challenge has been customer support response time. Some issues have taken longer than expected to get proper technical guidance, especially when we needed help reviewing configuration or troubleshooting policy behavior. We are upgrading to Gold/Premium support, so we are hoping that improves the experience and gives us more direct technical assistance.

### "Budget friendly for small estates "

December 23, 2025

2.0

Easy to use - I would recommened it for small sites, with no remote users - as soon as you add any network complexity it gets lost.

Pros

Budget friendly. The management console is simple, easy to navigate, and pulling meaningful reports is a walk in the park.

Cons

Updating remote devices is more than challenging, even using the secure gateway. It is slow, painfully slow - when remote users do come into the office we try to update their devices while they are on site - and using PMP we seldom complete the task.

### "Reliable, Automated Patch Management Backed by Exceptional Support"

September 8, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus has been excellent. It transformed our patch management process from a time-consuming administrative task into a highly reliable, automated workflow. The platform gives us complete visibility over our endpoint security posture and drastically reduces response times for zero-day vulnerabilities. Knowing that the system is backed by a highly responsive, top-tier technical support team gives us complete confidence in our environment's security and stability. I highly recommend it to any IT team looking for an effective, centralized patching solution.

Pros

What stands out most about Patch Manager Plus is its seamless automation and the incredible quality of their customer support team. Automated & Flexible Patching: Managing third-party updates, OS patches (Windows/Linux), and critical security fixes across endpoints is remarkably straightforward. The automated deployment policies and testing phases ensure systems stay compliant without disrupting users. Vulnerability Scanning & Visibility: The dashboard provides immediate clarity into vulnerable endpoints, missing patches, and system health status in real time. Outstanding Support: Whenever technical questions or complex deployment scenarios arise, the support team is fast, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to resolving the issue on the first interaction.

Cons

The depth of configuration options means there is a brief initial learning curve when setting up fine-grained deployment policies for the first time. However, once your architecture and approval workflows are defined, it runs smoothly on autopilot.

### "Manage Engine Patch Manager Plus - upgrade issue and fixed"

September 7, 2026

5.0

Overall the experience is satisfying, the monthly security patching has been automated and the repetitive work burden has been taken off the shoulder of the admins

Pros

Security and Vulnerability Management - ease of use Customer Support - technical support is competent in solving sophisticated issues during the recent ME Patch Manager Plus version 11.5.2627.39 update

Cons

The needs to only apply patches to 50 systems when the deployment is done manually. In addition, the agent update for patch scanning is not real time and the web console does not reflect the managed computers update in real time

Overall, my experience with ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus has been positive. It simplifies patch management through automation, improves security compliance, and makes it easier to manage updates across multiple systems from a single console.

Pros

ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus offers good value for money with an easy-to-use interface and reliable automated patch management. It simplifies Windows and third-party application updates, provides flexible scheduling and reboot options, and helps improve security by identifying missing critical patches. The reporting features and integration with other ManageEngine tools make it a practical solution for enterprise IT teams.

Cons

The reporting customization could be more flexible, and some deployments require additional troubleshooting when agents lose communication. The initial setup and configuration for larger environments can also take time, but overall the platform is reliable once configured properly.

### "Gets the Job Done Without Breaking the Bank"

August 26, 2026

5.0

Overall it's been a solid tool for keeping our environment patched and reducing our vulnerability exposure. It does the core job well — scanning for missing patches, deploying them on a schedule, and giving you visibility into what's compliant and what's not. For the price point it's hard to beat, especially if you're a small to mid-sized team without the budget for something like SCCM or Intune. That said, it's not perfect — you'll spend some time wrestling with agent issues and working around UI quirks. But once you get your policies dialed in and the automation running, it becomes pretty hands-off for routine patching. Would recommend it to teams looking for a no-frills patching solution that just works most of the time.

Pros

The centralized dashboard makes it really easy to see patch status across all endpoints at a glance. Scheduling and automating patch deployments saved us a ton of time compared to doing things manually, and the third-party application patching support was a big plus — not just OS updates but things like Adobe, Java, and browser patches all from one console. The reporting is solid too, which helps when leadership asks where we stand on compliance.

Cons

The agent can be finicky sometimes — if it goes offline or loses connection to the server, patches just silently fail and you don't always get a clear alert about it. The UI feels dated in spots and can be sluggish when you're working with a large number of endpoints. Rolling back failed patches isn't as straightforward as it should be, and the learning curve for setting up custom deployment policies took more time than expected. Documentation could also be better for some of the advanced features.

### "Best third-party patching I have ever seen in 32 years."

August 12, 2026

5.0

Overall, this has been a great experience we look forward to going from trial to POC. This patch Tuesday experience went very well.

Pros

IT was very easy to setup and easy to use. patching is clean and quickly alerts us about missing patches. With a large store of third-party patches available we haven't found anything yet it cannot patch.

Cons

Not being able to automatically switch from on prem to wan patching. I wish the client could detect the vlan and point to the distribution server that was available.

### "a life savor for IT"

One of the best products, but I believe it takes time for the user to find the best configurations for their domain setup.

Pros

Easy to use, and it will do exactly what it's built for: the installation in the background without any user interference. When it comes to rebooting, it has multiple choices; the Support team are the Best.

Cons

Too many steps to see the deployment process, and it's not clear sometimes why the installation is not done yet.

### "Streamlined, Reliable, and Intuitive Patch Management Solution"

May 29, 2025

5.0

My overall experience has been excellent. ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus has exceeded my expectations, offering a stable and feature-rich platform for automating patch management. It has already helped me close multiple vulnerabilities quickly and efficiently, saving time and reducing manual work. I’m very likely to move forward with a full deployment after the trial ends. It’s a great fit for any IT environment looking to enhance their patch compliance and endpoint security posture.

Pros

The ease of deployment and the intuitive interface stood out immediately. Within minutes, I had my environment scanned and patches classified by severity and type. Scheduling and automation are powerful yet simple to configure. The reporting features are detailed and very useful for audits or compliance. I especially appreciate the broad OS and third-party application support, which allowed me to patch a wide range of systems from a single pane of glass.

Cons

So far, during the trial, I haven't encountered any significant issues. If I had to mention anything, it would be that the initial learning curve for navigating all the policy and deployment settings could be a bit much for new users. However, the documentation and support resources make this manageable.

### "Good value, impressive feature set"

January 12, 2026

5.0

We use it solely for Linux patch monitoring and management and it's great for that. We could easily use it to replace our WSUS environment for Windows patching, but we don't have the requirement yet. For us as a Linux patch management platform it's easy to use and cost effective.

Pros

Easy for basic usage, but with a deep set of features. It can be as powerful or simple as you want it to be.

Cons

The interface sometimes feels a bit convoluted, but this is mainly because there's so much packed in.

### "Solid Patch Management Platform with Room to Grow in Transparency and Support Experience"

June 3, 2026

4.0

ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus is a capable and relatively easy-to-use patch management solution that delivers solid value, particularly for teams managing distributed endpoint environments. The monitoring console is well-designed, and the core patching workflow is efficient. The responsiveness of customer support is genuinely appreciated. That said, there are meaningful gaps that impact day-to-day operations. The absence of a support ticket portal makes follow-ups unnecessarily difficult to manage. Agent configuration is opaque — better documentation of all tunable parameters would give administrators more control and confidence. The mobile app needs significant stability work before it can be considered fit for use. Overall, the product gets the fundamentals right — but greater transparency, improved configurability, accurate status reporting, and a more structured support experience would elevate it considerably.

Pros

The patching process is straightforward and intuitive. Even in complex environments, the workflow is easy to follow and doesn't require extensive training to get started. The monitoring dashboard and console provide a clear, at-a-glance view of patch compliance across endpoints, making it easy to prioritise actions and stay ahead of vulnerabilities. Customer support staff are helpful and responsive — they understand issues raised and genuinely try to assist.

Cons

Support ticket tracking is poor. All follow-ups happen via email, which gets buried among other correspondence. A dedicated support portal — where users can check ticket status, view resolution steps, and track progress — would make a significant difference. Agent configuration lacks transparency. There is insufficient in-product guidance or documentation on the configurable parameters for the USEMS agent, such as scan schedule, CPU throttling, private key management, remote office connectivity, and other tunable variables. Administrators are left to figure things out with little visibility. No option to adjust the refresh cycle, which limits flexibility for teams with specific operational requirements. Deployment status is inaccurate on timeout failures. When a patch fails with "The wait operation timed out" and the retry count is exhausted, the deployment still shows as "In Progress (failed)" instead of "Failed." This is misleading and makes incident triage harder in production environments. The mobile application is unreliable. Tapping a tab causes the entire app to freeze and become unresponsive, making mobile management effectively unusable. Support explanations lack depth. While agents are helpful, resolutions are sometimes provided without sufficient transparency on the root cause or the steps taken — more detailed explanations would build greater trust and help teams learn.

### "A great option for patching Windows devices"

March 12, 2026

4.0

I really enjoy using it. Support are quick to respond when tickets are raised, however sometimes it is difficult to get past 1st line. They are helpful though.

Pros

Patch Manager Plus is a great way to keep on top of patching the estate. It is especially good with Windows devices. There is a wide range of 3rd party applications that are in support. I've found it easy to use, easy to set up automated testing and deployment and I generally like using it. It supports Mac and Linux devices so you can also keep these up to date.

Cons

My current issue is that the support for 3rd party repositories for Linux is lacking. So Patch Manager is pushing out the OS updates, but no package updates for commonly used programs like Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and VS Code. Support have put these things forward to the engineering team to see if it can be added in future.

Pros

Cons

One could argue that major Linux flavours like RHEL and Oracle Linux are already tuned correctly with ManageEngine patch detection. This could be achieved by taking into account back porting of security fixes and not simply basing package release version numbers based on Upstream source and comparing the version number.
