Customer service is helpful and responsive. They have a Facebook group where you can go ask the community for program tips and other advice related to interior design. And they are constantly making useful upgrades! Pros DesignFiles is an all in one program for my interior design business! It feels overpriced for what you get, and the lack of professional polish makes it hard to trust for client-facing work. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re prepared to constantly troubleshoot and pay for features you may not use. Pros The idea behind having everything in one platform—design boards, sourcing, and proposals—seems convenient in theory. Cons The platform feels unpolished and clunky. Basic functions require constant workarounds. Furniture sourcing doesn’t update automatically, creating unnecessary headaches. Clients lose access to their files if you pause your account, which feels unfair. Support staff mostly offer excuses instead of real solutions. We are able to present an entire mood board along with details on each selection, pricing, and our own descriptions/reasonings. From there, our Clients are able to 'Approve' or 'Deny' certain items and provide feedback. All from one screen! Cons There are some opportunities with the functionality of some of the tools, like allowing for easier creation of mood boards with either more options for elements (like flooring, fixtures, etc.) or allowing for a 'copy/paste' feature rather than having to upload every element we want to include to paint the full picture. Excited to know that my professional representation improves when providing deliverables from the perspective of what I am providing my clients and the perspective of my clients with what they receive. Pros mood boards/layering, being able to select furniture and scale for furniture plan. Also, being able to import a floor plan and place furniture/walls/windows right over it and then hide it !! Cons Cons at this point are really struggles with getting familiar to the new, while muscle memory takes over of other programs. At the moment, not being able to enlarge the floor plan when doing the scale/initial measure (would like to be able to get a more exact measure). Switched from [SketchUp](https://www.capterra.com/p/211798/SketchUp/) Management decided to invest based on the cost and availability of programs to that were considered. I love that they are working on features to further enhance my business. Pros The comprehensive training library is incomparable. These videos are the most helpful training and customer support that I've found. Additionally, I've learned so much about affiliate links and affiliate networks as well as social media platforms and how Design Files works within these. While these are critical in e-design, I didn't expect to learn as much as I have. I'm so grateful for this tool! Cons The videos make everything look easy, but my practice and mastering take a little more time. I like the moodboard + cost features- adding all of my products with applicable discounts for me. I also like the ability to choose what I want to directly send to my clients. Though the floor design feature is not the best, I do like that I can change the dimensions of most of the products available in order to get a good idea for space planning. Cons I've unfortunately experienced numerous glitches within the system- mostly with the browser clipper and the floor design feature. I also dont enjoy that the moodboard and floor design feature cannot communicate with each other. The list of products available in the floor design feature is not near as extensive enough. My moodboards and floor designs never look the same, which does not make for a cohesive presentation for my clients. I started using DesignFiles through Interior Design Institute for a design project assignment, which also comes highly recommended through Dakota Design Concepts. Pros The overall holistic offering that I need for my interior design business. Cons The "add to DesignFiles" add-on doesn't work for some websites, which makes it a bit more time consuming to download the picture so I can upload the information into my library for use on a design board project. Switched from [HoneyBook](https://www.capterra.com/p/162588/HoneyBook/) I liked DesignFiles functionality better and it offered a better overall solution for my business; design boards with budgets, shopping lists, approval process, invoicing, etc. Alternatives considered [HoneyBook](https://www.capterra.com/p/162588/HoneyBook/) Reasons for choosing DesignFiles I initially chose HoneyBook due to the cost being lower, but figured out after using my free access through IDI that I liked the functionality of DesignFiles over HoneyBook.
