### "Excellent Church Program "

September 26, 2021

4.0

Pros

I most like that the Subsplash team is responsive and you can easily schedule a meeting to get assistance. Additionally, they've made critical feature improvements to save lots of time.

Cons

I have a growing list of features I feel need to be added. This include donor data fields, exporting capabilities and third party app integrations. There are also several features that are in the works, listed as "coming soon" that I must wait patiently for.

### "Subsplash, A One-Stop Shop Church Management & Communication System"

April 13, 2026

5.0

Our overall experience has been stellar. The team at Subsplash is good at training you to use the product. They are innovators who constantly come up with new ways to serve churches. They are really good at customer service, and we have relied on this aspect as we continue to learn the system. Overall, our experience has been A+!

Pros

We were looking for a "one-stop shop" for our management and communication systems at our church. After doing lots of research, it was clear that Subsplash was near the top of this market. They provided management solutions for our membership, website, livestreaming, communication, giving, and more.

Cons

There's not much to list as cons. The only one that comes to mind is getting used to the system's workflow. But that is more of an adjustment than a con.

### "Good for Smaller Churches"

May 16, 2024

3.0

My overall experience with Subsplash was mediocre. There is much that frustrated me as features would crash or I could not customize to my satisfaction. The customer service is incredibly difficult to reach, which has also caused major issues. The host media very well, and provide great features for categorizing what we store on their platform.

Pros

If what you want is an inexpensive web platform that allows you to host and stream media, as well as build aesthetically pleasing websites and apps, Subsplash is a great option. It is easy to stream and categorize media, and the push notification feature is easy to use.

Cons

Customization is a major struggle for Subsplash. Their integrations with third-party software lack the features necessary to make them worthwhile, and the user/designer seems to be limited to features that the platform has built itself.

Great customer service - very prompt and helpful when responding to requests. \[sensitive content hidden\] has been awesome.

Pros

Great customer service, they are fantastic at communicating. Really make customer satisfaction a priority.

Cons

Don't really have any complaints. It's expensive, but you get what you pay for. Nothing else really that I haven't been happy with.

### "All-inclusive Media Delivery For Churches"

May 8, 2021

5.0

Overall Subsplash has been a great tool for my church. We are very media focused (delivering videos each week to our home groups). And with our multiple media categories, Subsplash makes it easy to deliver on our app and on over-the-top TV boxes like Apple TV and roku.

Pros

The app is simple to set up and their team helps you follow all the steps to put it on the App Store. The app is easy to use and customizable enough for all church needs. Uploading media and information is simple, and it's seamlessly added throughout the platform, from the app to the website. The website, while simple, is still very powerful and gives your church a great online presence. When you have multiple sermons, sermon series, informational and educational media, the media player is second to none. Your videos are searchable, archived with great organization, and playable on any device. Giving is very straightforward and very easy for the donor, while giving enough administrative features to make the back-end useful. Lastly there are a suite of features that enhance your online presence. From fill-in-notes to event management to messaging, Subsplash delivers almost everything a church needs to be a relevant, media powerhouse.

Cons

Subsplash comes with a hefty price tag that is a large investment for churches. And while most of the features are what churches need, some will find limitations on the platform such as tweaking the app and website to look exactly like you want.

### "Worth Every Penny"

August 6, 2020

4.0

From start to finish the support side was helpful and friendly and walked that balance of being knowledgeable without making you feel dumb for not being as good as them with the product. The development and launching went flawlessly for us and while we're pretty competent with tech, I really attribute it to their intuitive and simple software and interface.

Pros

Both the App Design and Web Design were intuitive and very well integrated. We are tech savvy but the ease were were able to create large amounts of content was almost rewarding.

Cons

There were a couple odds and ends that you just had to (such as small amounts of coding when adding links to the app without all the web menus). Also, having to have 3 sizes for any image attached to a menu item.

Alternatives considered

### "Amazing!"

November 4, 2019

5.0

Pros

With a bit a creativity and some graphic knowledge, you can make an amazing app using Subsplash! the creative control I have over our app is great, and our possibilities are endless.

Cons

The only really "Con" I can think of is that there isn't just a simple way to add text to an app. Everything is graphic based so to work around this is to make a graphic of just text and insert it that way. That's really not a big deal, but would be a nice feature.

### "One Stop Shop for Your Church"

April 20, 2026

5.0

Overall, great for churches of all sizes. We use the app all the time to run our church and stay connected.

Pros

One-stop shop for everything our church needs in the 21st century. Very affordable, and support is responsive when you need them.

Cons

The initial integration was a lot, but that's just because it is a lot no matter what. We moved our website and church management to Subsplash and launched an app all at the same time.

### "Happy with SubSplash"

April 17, 2026

5.0

Overall it has been great. Customer service is often an issue with me and others I see on the forums. It tends to be slow.

Pros

The integration of the app and the website. Being able to drop something into one place and have it populate elsewhere is wonderful.

Cons

The separation of People in the Dashboard and People in Management. It's really poor design, not just poor execution.

### "Honest review"

April 14, 2026

5.0

It's been great! At times, a little limited, but it's great for our medium-small sized church. We rarely need something that subsplash doesn't have.

Pros

Support is super fast and they really know how to help with a lot of common setups. This is coming from the tech guy's perspective.

Cons

I don't love fluro, it's not great. I just want to send out weekly reminders to my team (i.e., send out a reminder to this team on the first week).

### "Subsplash offers comprehensive giving and app platforms"

January 2, 2025

4.0

We currently still use Subsplash for our giving and media platforms through our Subsplash app, but have moved away from using their website builder in favor of a different provider. We found that their app and giving platforms are comprehensive and easy to implement.

Pros

I appreciate the ability to have all of our media in one place, which helps us have a substantial library for people to reference. The app and giving are also pretty simple to set up and use, and look very nice and simple, with some tweaking. They also have very responsive customer support.

Cons

There are some features, especially on the web development side (with snap pages specifically) that seemed like no-brainers to incorporate, but were not features that were available.

### "Easy to Use but Pricey Fees"

November 3, 2022

5.0

From an easy to implement online giving solution, this is probably the easiest and geared toward churches, however due to the fees, we are investigating other options that integrate well with our CMS package.

Pros

Subsplash is very easy to implement and train the users on basic operations, whether for one-time giving or recurring. Integrating the links into the webpage and apps was simpler than other options.

Cons

The transaction fees are still higher than competitors even with their GrowCurve option. We have yet to see a decrease in our fees after years of use.

Reason for choosing Subsplash

Previous experience and ease of set up and use.

### "Subsplash-Overall Review"

August 21, 2019

4.0

The package has increased our online giving. The app is easy to use, the user can schedule an automatic transfer on a weekly, monthly or whatever basis. It's also been mostly "error free." I've had very, very few issues administrating this program.

Pros

It's pretty user friendly all in all. I had very little formal training on the administration of this software package, but could maneuver and find most everything I've needed. The associated app is equally user friendly. Overall, the software works and works well.

Cons

This may be an across the board issue with online giving software packages, but...there is a "lag" between the time a person makes a contribution and the time it shows up in our bank. They send one weekly batch transfer (Wednesdays). This batch will not include EVERY contribution made the prior week. In fact, it doesn't even have all the contributions made up to 2+ weeks prior. So, again, there is a lag issue. A giver may make a contribution on the 1st day of a month, but it won't get transmitted to our bank until 2 weeks later. I know this is due to how online banking functions work though I don't understand the details. All I know is I would rather get ALL of our contributions in a more timely fashion.

Reason for choosing Subsplash

The pricing is quite fair and it was easy to setup and use. The user friendly app helped too. Everything just integrates well.

### "Subsplash for Churches"

February 15, 2023

4.0

Overall, we liked working with Subsplash and we are still using it for our website and media management. Our goal is to move away from it soon but the experience as a whole was not bad. The reason I started looking to move was a $40 a month jump in our price from one month to the next.

Pros

We really enjoyed our time with Subsplash. We signed for a two year contract and ended up staying with them longer. The app building and website building portion of their product were intuitive and easy to use. The amount of customization we could have on our own custom branded app was great. I found it far better than most other companies that were offering the same thing.

Cons

One of the main things I did not like about Subsplash was their tendency to charge for every small add on. I know that there are many companies that do that and we are technically paying more now than we were with Subsplash. With Subsplash though there was no trial periods or no option to drop a service if you found you weren't using it. If you signed up for it you were stuck with it whether or not it fit your ministry.

### "Great end product"

January 15, 2019

4.0

Pros

The end product is great, that is what people open up on their smart device. I love that Subsplash keeps adding new features.

Cons

It takes some time to get up to speed on using the software, and it takes more time than they tell you to keep everything updated and current. Also, the cost is pretty steep for us, and it looks like they want to increase the price with more added features. Still, so far it's worth it to us to keep up with Subsplash because the end product is very nice.

### "Review of Subsplash/The Church App"

January 15, 2019

4.0

Overall we have been very pleased with our ongoing relationship with Subsplash. When I first began working with Subsplash, years ago, they were a fairly small company; I felt very important and really cared for as we set up our app. Over the past 12-18 months, I've really noticed a change in that type of care. I'm not naive to think that as they've grown they would be able to maintain the same level of guidance. However, I miss it and sometimes feel a bit overwhelmed and/or lost...like I'm not able to keep up or take advantage of updates in technology, maximizing user experience, etc.

Pros

What I like most about Subsplash is that it allows us to regularly engage both those who attend our church and those who have never set foot on our campus.

Cons

What I like least about this software is that I can't delete images that I upload. I know that may seem a little odd, but I wish there was a way to archive/organize uploaded images.

Pros

### "Our church uses this for the website and app and it is quite nice!"

October 8, 2019

5.0

Very positive. As mentioned earlier, being able to listen to older sermons, give through the app or website, etc., it is extremely simple to use.

Pros

The app and website are extremely clean looking and I notice that this is the consistent with other churches that use subsplash for website and app creation. Being able to watch and listen to previous sermons is also a plus. The option to give through the app or website is great too.

Cons

Nothing really. When I purchased a Galaxy Note 10+, the play store said that the subsplash app was not compatible with my device. I contact subsplash and they updated the app to support the most current operating systems for smartphones.

### "Excellence In Every Way"

January 26, 2019

5.0

My favorite thing about Subsplash is that on top of an incredible dashboard to build and customize our app, they have the best customer service I have ever experienced. Furthermore, the team at Subsplash is engaged with our organization at just the right level to be able to most effectively come along side us and add value to what we're doing. I am so thankful for all that Subsplash has done for us. I'm actually tempted to give them more money than what they're asking for!

Pros

The software is VERY intuitive. There are just the right amount of options to build and customize an app and the layout makes it incredibly easy to navigate.

Cons

The way the photos are laid out when selecting from previously uploaded photos is not the most efficient.

### "Great Support"

January 15, 2019

5.0

Occasionally, there are “glitches” or “bugs” that interfere with the App operating well. However, they’re Ishtar on top of it...many times even fixing it before I’m aware of it.

Pros

Subsplash made putting our church App together a breeze! Every step of the way they were there supporting me. Even after it was established they had competent, helpful and especially pleasant staff guiding me through upgrades and more! I couldn’t even think about doing this without their help!

Cons

Not much, if any, as they are open to working on and implementing suggestions into the software. Only thing I’d like better is to have a choice of Bible versions (NKJV) instead of just one (ESV).

### "There’s better and more cost effective software available"

January 31, 2020

2.0

We ended up moving away from Subsplash because they focused so much on other things than their app that a number of companies surpassed them in quality, features and service. We haven’t looked back.

Pros

Subsplash has a really nice sermon houser.

Cons

We found that the UI was nice for the app user, but what it took to actually set up was cumbersome and took too many steps to make something simple happen. To much link building and linking necessary. Having to build one thing in one place only to attach it elsewhere and not having a simple way was obnoxious. The look of Subsplash is okay but there’s no way to improve it or set it apart from any other apps. The list goes on but over all the worst of it was the customer support. Anytime we had a question, they offered us a shoulder shrug but no resolve or timeline to resolve.

They're awesome. Support is stellar.

Pros

They know what churches are looking for and how they need to organize media. It's completely setup for them to have powerful mobile apps as well as on OTT devices like AppleTV and Roku.

### "Notes Section is Poor"

February 14, 2021

2.0

I like the idea behind the product, but the main function I use in taking sermon notes only functions half the time.

Pros

I love that the notes can by synced with the sermon video. This allows you to go back months later and still have the connection between the notes you took and the sermon, even allowing you to easily watch the sermon again.

Cons

The notes section is very glitchy! I used to take notes using the app, but many times I would get all the way through taking notes during a sermon and the notes wouldn’t synchronize. I started taking them the notes on my iPhone notes section and then trying to transfer them to the Notes section. It only works 50% of the time. Usually I end up having to retype every single line of the Notes I took during the sermon and hope that it synchronizes at some point. This needs to be fixed or give an option to save the Notes onto the phone and not the cloud.
