### "Let Management Make Their Own Decisions"

February 8, 2019

5.0

Teampay is always there to help or answer any questions in a timely manner, which is important in the world of finance.

Pros

I love that it gives power to the people! The employees don't need to ask accounting for every single payment request, but also do not have a physical credit card that is difficult to track and report every month. This has eased up the lift in the accounting department as expense reports have fewer charges and AP is also lighter. There are still controls in place to ensure that these decisions are being approved, but these are decisions that should be approved within those departments anyway.

Cons

My company definitely pushed the limits of the software, in terms of transaction counts and approval groups. Managing approval groups is a bit clunky, but it's not a huge problem.

### "Spend Management With Some Flaws"

December 12, 2024

Pros

fast process to get virtual cards, integrates with our accounting software, easy to get real-time stats on spending

Cons

eventhough its a temporary card, if i need to use it for more than one thing, i have to continually put in requests for separate cards. wish the approval workflows were more customizable, integrations/sync sometimes need to be performed manually

### "Few points regarding usabiity"

December 20, 2024

3.0

It can be frustrating when I have to open a new request because there is a modification needed. It would help if there is a way to cancel request and fill a new one from the old request as a template.

Pros

As a user that only sends the requests and have no responsibility for reviews and approval I like relative simplicity of the process. Once I send out the request it gets automatically routed through the approval chain. At least in theory.

Cons

No easy way to link context in Jira tickes (we just put a bit of backstory to comments and link Jira there). Comments are however free form and they are limited by formatting. A way to save and continue request is missing. We would also like to have a way to work on one request in team (we make requests as a team, so it would be useful if I can create it and another team member could review it before we send it upwards for approval.

### "Team Teampay"

December 12, 2024

5.0

I had a great experience. My teampay card and I have been everywhere and has never failed me when paying for those customer dinners and travel.

Pros

I loved how easy it was to upload receipts, request money, and have a physical card.

Cons

In the beginning, it was important to understand which types of receipt files were accepted.

### "Solid for recurring expenses, but there are better options out there"

November 12, 2019

4.0

We wanted to help our team purchase the products they need while keeping track of everything and Teamppay does a good job of it. Problem is their competitors are able to offer additional value.

Pros

The Slack integration is a very cool and user friendly way for users to request additional recurring billing software. Customer support team is good and trying to grow the product as they are a small company.

Cons

They do not provide credit unlike competitiors Divvy and Brex which really impacts the value. Also our Slack integration broke and it was very difficult to get it back up and running

Alternatives considered

[BILL Spend & Expense](https://www.capterra.com/p/166905/Divvy/)[Brex](https://www.capterra.com/p/182054/Brex/)

Reason for choosing Teampay

Intial setup was easier than Divvy and they had an integration with Slack

### "Teampay Review- Great but a few very frustrating issues."

June 26, 2025

4.0

4/5. I like how seamlessly I upload my receipts and request funds. However, there are some issues that I've mentioned above.

Pros

It is easy to upload receipts, and I appreciate the receipt icon on every transaction. Currently, I use the desktop version of the teampay site when working with my phone since I have an android. The teampay feature on slack is nearly unusable so I can't upload receipts there. However, the desktop teampay site on the phone is surprisingly good since I see all my transactions, have the receipt icon for easily uploads and website responds well to touch on a mobile screen. Teampay site (mobile mode)- many things are cut off on the screen and I can't swipe to make them visible neither. For this reason, prefer the teampay desktop site. I like that teampay gives me the option to split a transaction as well.

Cons

Extremely frustrating- If I get my teampay card replaced, my past transactions get wiped from the iPhone app. Teampay on slack is nearly useless (which I will get into). In my past, I’ve transferred my receipts to my computer where the past transactions are visible. This is a horrible, horrible, painstaking process. The order of the files gets scrambled and the dates as well. There is currently no android teampay app (I have moved to an android phone). Teampay is nearly useless when connected to slack. I do appreciate missing receipt notifications, but it keeps flooding me with notifications. For instance, if I want to upload a receipt for a transaction two days ago, I wouldn't even be able to find it because I get flooded with notifications about other transactions as well. Also, the transaction dates can get confusing. With uploading receipts for Amazon can be very stressful since these vendors primarily list the date the order was made and the date, they arrived which is not the transaction date. Also, if you purchase multiple items on orders on Amazon, teampay mixes the orders and their prices. This is likely just how credit cards work but the transaction may not be listed on the date the purchase was actually made (sometimes a day or two after).

### "Streamlining Your Spend Management, But Is It Right for Every Team? "

June 21, 2025

5.0

Easy to use, good to track process. From an employee perspective, Teampay simplifies purchasing, no more out-of-pocket spend or cumbersome reimbursement processes. The ability to issue virtual cards instantly for specific vendors or purposes is especially helpful and adds an extra layer of security. That said, the onboarding and setup process requires careful planning to align workflows and policies with company needs. Teams that are new to proactive spend management may face a learning curve, and smaller businesses might find the pricing harder to justify.

Pros

Teampay provides live tracking of employee purchases, helping finance teams monitor budgets proactively rather than reactively. Automated, customizable workflows make it easy to set guardrails and ensure proper authorization before funds are spent. Instant issuance of virtual cards tied to specific vendors or projects reduces fraud risk and helps with reconciliation. Seamless connection with tools like NetSuite, and Slack reduces manual data entry and errors. Employees no longer need to use personal funds and wait for reimbursement; spending is managed up-front.

Cons

Some features, like virtual cards, may have restrictions outside the U.S., limiting its utility for global teams, especially if the spend in India. Teampay’s value is most apparent in mid-size and larger companies; small teams might find the cost outweighs the benefit.

### "Love Teampay "

June 13, 2025

5.0

My overall experience has been super positive. I love how easy it is to use and manage my team's spending. I love that I can easily approve funds while I'm out of the office, in case of an emergency.

Pros

I travel frequently for work, and I love the Teampay credit card. It is very easy to use, request funds to be added, and code my receipts to ensure they are allocated to the correct account routes. My entire team that travels has them, and it makes it easy to track spending to ensure we are not over budget. I also love the reports, which make it easy to match expenses with our budget and ensure things are coded correctly in real-time.

Cons

My only con is that when using Teampay through the Teams App sometimes it doesn't save what we have entered or uploaded. This has happened to my team several times recently. I'm not sure what the glitch is, but it's frustrating when we do things correctly and save them, only to have Finance ping me, saying we're missing receipts.

### "Streamlined Purchasing with Strong Controls"

June 26, 2025

5.0

My overall experience with Teampay has been positive. It has simplified our purchase request process and made internal communication around spend more transparent. The approval flow is efficient, and the ability to issue virtual cards helps speed up purchases. It’s a reliable tool that supports better financial governance.

Pros

I appreciated the intuitive interface and the automated approval workflows. It makes it very easy for teams to request purchases, while finance still maintains control. Real-time budget tracking is also a big plus.

Cons

Sometimes, the integration with accounting systems can be a bit slow or require manual adjustments. Also, occasional delays in syncing data between departments could be improved.

### "I never want to be without Teampay"

April 3, 2025

5.0

Besides making us more efficient, I really appreciate the fast and friendly customer success manager (mine is \[sensitive content hidden\]). He is always so personable and always gets back to me when I make requests, when I let him know about any hiccups, or make suggestions for product improvements. I have also seen Teampay improve its product regularly during the two years I have been using it.

Pros

Teampay cuts down on the time me and my team spend on manual data entry. The team-based approach makes purchasing and record keeping SO much easier than it was before we used this product.

Cons

I don't have any negative notes, honestly.

### "Easy, Efficient, and User-Friendly Expense Management"

June 20, 2025

5.0

I primarily use Teampay for submitting reimbursements related to company benefits, travel expenses, and employee recognition or award purchases. It’s made the process so much easier and more streamlined than other tools I’ve used in the past.

Pros

I love that Teampay integrates with Slack—it sends me reminders when I need to upload receipts, which keeps me on track without extra effort. It’s also directly linked to my bank account, so once something is approved, I don’t have to worry about deposits or tracking payments manually. The whole system is very user-friendly and makes submitting and managing expenses quick and painless.

Cons

The only improvement I’d suggest is having convenient guidance as a reference on which company-specific categories to select when submitting an expense. Right now, I sometimes have to refer back to our internal documentation. It would be great if that info were embedded directly into the Teampay interface during submission.

### "Teampay experience"

December 12, 2024

4.0

Overall happy with Teampay as it meets our needs for making employee purchases easy and mostly hands off - The integration with Slack is very user friendly. I'd like to see more functionality with category selection, as changing those to the correct department takes a fair bit of time each month.

Pros

Teampay makes it extremely easy to get employees setup with a virtual card when making company purchases. They have a nice rule workflow which allows us to nearly automate our approval/rejection process.

Cons

I would love to see an "Admin" function where a user can add reimbursements for different users. There needs to be more functionality with categories. I'd like to be able to make a rule that X user's categories flow to Sales department. The auto-selected categories for physical cards are generally never correct. If a user selects the Sales-transportation category for an Uber ride, it seems like the Sales category will be selected for all other Uber purchases regardless if the user is in sales.

### "Quick, Easy, and Simple"

September 12, 2025

5.0

It has been great. It's easy to send requests for funds. Approval process is a breeze. Glad my company uses it.

Pros

Quick and easy to use. Gives good guidance on how to submit requests and access funds. I've never had any problem with the digital payment being accepted.

Cons

Can be an issue when trying to use Teampay for items like hotels. Doesn't work great for security deposits on rooms, you need to create multi-day charges, and most hotels will require a physical card upon check-in (which really isn't a Teampay problem, just a general fact of booking a hotel).

### "Great Platform for Purchasing"

April 4, 2025

4.0

Overall, I really like Teampay. The platform is incredibly easy to use, making it simple to track expenses, request approvals, and manage purchases efficiently. Its intuitive design helps streamline financial processes and saves time.

Pros

One of the things I appreciate most about Teampay is how easy it is to use. The platform is intuitive and user-friendly, making it simple to navigate and manage transactions efficiently.

Cons

One downside I’ve experienced is how often the Amazon connection is lost, which can cause issues with transactions and purchases. It can be frustrating to reconnect and troubleshoot these disruptions.

### "Great responsive service with room for better instructions"

September 12, 2025

5.0

Great overall experience with Teampay. The quick customer support and user-friendly interface stood out, despite the initial confusion with the slack channel. The platform’s efficiency and the team’s dedication to resolving issues made it a positive journey. I’d recommend it with a few tweaks for better onboarding.

Pros

Had a sign-in issue and got customer support right away. Great responsive service that resolved my problem quickly and efficiently. The team was professional and friendly, making the experience smooth and stress-free. I appreciated the prompt attention to detail and how they prioritized my needs.

Cons

Could be better with instruction of how to use the app in the slack channel. The lack of clear guidance made it confusing at first, and it took some trial and error to figure out. More detailed tutorials or initial support would help new users navigate the platform more easily and enhance the overall experience.

### "Happy first time user"

September 12, 2025

5.0

Pros

I’m a first-time Teampay user, and getting it integrated with Slack was quick and easy. The Slack prompts made it simple to submit a request for a card to be issued, and I really like that Teampay also shows me account updates—like when a transaction is declined—right in Slack. I’m glad my company uses Teampay because it feels like a much more streamlined way to make purchases the company is financially committed to, compared to using my personal card and dealing with reimbursements later.

Cons

I don't have any negative feedback. In the scope of my interaction with Teampay everything has worked well.

### "Where have you been all my life"

September 19, 2025

5.0

New software is daunting but this was honestly a breeze. Everything is on one page. I'm not having to search for vendor and purchasing manager codes. I can very easily start typing the vendor name, easily find my department in the dropdown, easily locate the class for the purchase and upload a quote. Zero lag time. I guess I like a lot about it. Also the communication during the approval process. I've got a clear record of when I submitted what request, who it was for, and when it's approved.

Pros

What I like the most about Teampay is the ease at which I can very quickly submit a request for the products I need to properly serve our students.

Cons

The thing I like least very likely has nothing to do with Teampay and everything to do with the building process that we're making our way through, to personalize the software. I do see new options at each log in so I know we're building the plane as we fly it. My belief is that it's all internal personalization.

Pros

Love the Slack integration to keep you updated on the balance of cards, and of realtime transactions - very convenient. SSO integration is also welcome & generally it's a great tool for keeping a record of payments and requesting virtual cards.
