We have had a great overall experience with MedTrainer and definitely feel audit ready with their compliance program.

Pros

MedTrainer is great for compliance checking for our healthcare practice. One feature they have is AI which does make working on their platform easier! We use MedTrainer for credentialing as well.

Cons

MedTrainer assigns you a specific representative to use- sometimes the customer service isn't as fast as I would like for credentialing.

### "Medtrainer review"

It has been an overall good experience in the few years our practice has been using Medtrainer and I hope the practice decides to stay with this program!

Pros

Medtrainer is easy to use, both at the administrative level and the student level. The dashboards are easy to read/understand/navigate.

Cons

Inability to run reports easily. Our organization is large and split into multiple divisions. I used to be able to run (at any time) an easy report showing me who had open coursework to complete. Now I don't have that ability to do so easily.

Overall experience was not worth the cheaper price, it hindered the overall point of the need, low quality customer service, poor sales tactics. Would not use again and would not recommend to others. You get what you pay for. Just pay for Relias.

Pros

I liked what the sales guy sold me on, which I never got. Now that I am trying to leave he said he will get it for me. Such as the specific trainings I need for my patient population, state and federal requirements and accreditation requirements.

Cons

Pretty much everything. I was sold a lie. I did not find it to be user friendly. But that could have been because I was told I was getting something I was not. So when I looked for those functions to teach myself, they were not there. When I asked questions, I was met with responses like "did you watch that training video" and I sure did. Medtrainer was not helpful in any of the trainings I specifically needed for my business even though it was a cheaper option than most and sounded great during the sales pitch. When following the contract on how to cancel our services. We were locked in for one year, then after that it went month to month, we would need to provide a 30 day notice of termination of services, then Medtrainer would send you a termination of services survey. I did all of those steps, they sent me the survey, completed that, then after was met with "oh you did not read the fine print and we actually signed you into an other year actually automatically" Then was offered we can add those specific trainings you would like. I asked "The ones I was told were available to me to begin with and the templates for policies and procedures I was told that were available to me too that are not there". My business barely used Medtrainer and it did not fulfill the our need but we paid for it for one year.

Overall it is a great learning module for our organization and it gets the job done. I think that MedTrainer (once you get used to using it) is very user friendly.

Pros

Very user friendly and staff are responsive to assist with troubleshooting IT issues that may arise.

Cons

Sometimes there are login issues with the SSO login. There are not enough learning modules available for specific learning for different departments like ER/Obstetrics.

### "Great for Payer Enrollments, Credentialing features could use some work"

Overall, despite some frustrations, I am very pleased with the platform. It definitely helps streamline the payer enrollment process.

Pros

I appreciate the ability to easily track payer enrollments and the customized reporting. I also use the Provider Enrollments dashboard frequently (although I wish it showed some different information). The Privileges and Appointments section is nice to have all approved packets in one place but also like that it connects to the providers profile.

Cons

I do not like the Credentialing features. They arent really functional. I also dont like how updates are released half done; they affect the way the platform operates and I have to either create workarounds until the full functionality is released or do the same action multiple times in different places.

Poor. Unwilling to work with its customers. Poor customer service. Would not recommend to anyone in the future.

Pros

We were not a fan and found better solutions to our needs, however, we were stuck in a contract that was no longer meeting our needs.

Cons

Poor customer service. Difficult to navigate. Not enough trainings outside of the medical field. There are better companies out there that provide a better product at a more reasonable price.

We have been on Medtrainer for 8 years and seen many improvments and updates. Very response with support if there are issues.

Pros

Easy to use and multifunctional. Use of colors and large font make it easy to navigate and see. Regular enhancements and improvements for optimizing the Administrator experience.

Cons

OnBoarding not functional-it initiates on the date the employee was entered instead of the hire date

Would like to see a training repository on the operation of and the different functions of MedTrainer available when needed to reference/refresh.

I like that i can include a lot of info on enrollments and track it. I also like that i can get reports i need.

I don't like that it is constantly changing. Sometimes the system can become very slow or crashes out.

What we like most about MedTrainer is not only the ease of use, but if you have any questions their team is right there to help every step of the way.

Cons

I've yet to come across something that I don't like about the system. Anytime that you have questions the support team is there to help you and walk you through.

Pros

Easy access to courses for staff. Also great reports for OSHA regulations! Highly recommend to all businesses.

When assigning courses there are two due dates that can get confusing. The excessive emails when an employee has completed a course

MedTrainer staff are extremely responsive and their turnaround time is great. They are always willing to help and stick by their word. They take feedback on their products and customize them to their customers' needs. Above all, you can feel that they genuinely care about their customers' satisfaction.

Pros

MedTrainer is a great resource. More than that, the customer support and MedTrainer team are what make the software exceptional. They help to truly customize functions based on our needs. Among other things, we were able to transition to electronic incident reporting and ensure a speedy and simple way to deliver required annual compliance training. We are continuously evolving with MedTrainer. Our organization spans across multiple states and MedTrainer (and their team) make sure that we are well taken care of and help us to ensure uniformity within our Compliance Program.

Cons

The cons tie into the pros. With any IT product there are bound to be issues - however, the MedTrainer team is always quick to help and ensure that it is resolved ASAP so we can return to normal operations. MedTrainer takes feedback and constructive criticism well and adapt to our needs.

My overall experience has been very good and I am happy to have a tracking software but also have the learning online videos for staff instead of sending them off campus to complete some of their required training. Orientation of new staff has been much easier as well because I am able to get their compliance training completed at on-boarding instead of waiting until the next group training is scheduled.

Pros

I really value the tracking portion of the training. We have always struggled with staying on top of when staff are due to renew their certifications and annual compliance training; so this software has really helped!

Cons

We signed up to utilize the equipment list and maintenance module. Instead of there being an upload of our current excel equipment list we will have to put each piece of equipment in one by one. I haven't had a chance to sit down and do this yet so I haven't been able to start using that module yet. :( I thought when I signed up for our package, it included some of the CME that clinical staff need and I found out it will cost extra. :(

MedTrainer helps us meet our HRSA grant requirements and our FTCA training requirements.

Pros

Training package covers almost all of the required training's we need and what is not there we can have loaded. Also the tracking of the training's assigned and the ability to see how many times the user had to take the training to pass the end of course quiz. Training reports are also great!

Cons

Sometimes the trainings have a glitch but the problem is always solved in a timely maner.

Cons

It's sometimes confusing trying to find what you need in regards to where the information is located. There are so many different features that are available I sometimes forget on where to look for what.

Awful experience. Found it wasn’t needed for us or ANYONE LESS THAN 100 employees, so if you are a small business, find a better way to keep records of your staff by using a desktop. Unhappy costumer here, and they pretty much said “sorry you’re unhappy” and we will keep charging you. So, DO NOT SIGN ANY CONTRACTS WITH THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU KNOW IT WILL BENEFIT YOU. Truthfully, you do not need the services of this company.

Pros

Internet based… many courses available to train staff.

Cons

Staff, customer service. They love to take your money and don’t deliver on service. All they care about is sales, the constant calls and emails about referrals and upselling is crazy and then when you need help on customer service we had weeks go by before someone replied.

### "Added Benefit To Our Practice"

The benefit of having access to current updated information on a regular and consistent basis is so important. My annual OSHA and HIPAA training will be given via Med Trainer in Jan. 2020. Being able to use the Compliance check off sheets are an added asset. The ease of assigning modules to one person or 30 and having access to see their progress is essential. My licensed and certified staff now have certificates to present for there continuing education. It is making my training life so much easier these days! Thank you Med Trainer for the ease and accessibility of your system!!

Pros

Just recently we have added the CPR portion to our Med Trainer. I have personally gone through the program and as a nurse I must say it is more informative than most hands on classes that I have attended for recertification. I agree with the trainer that we should have 6 month refreshers. The ease of using the system, the added benefit of questions after each segment and the way it is presented was most excellent and kept your attention.

Cons

More recently we have been having issues with multiple staff having to have their password reset for no apparent reason.

We are very happy with this product.

Pros

It is very easy to streamline on-boarding new employees. I love the reminders; currency on required OSHA guidelines; automatic updates to SDS; being able to manage over 200 employees through reporting and metrics.

Cons

The courses sometimes get "stuck". Multiple employees report they get part-way through a course and it freezes OR, they finish a course and confirmed they passed the test, but the program reports they haven't completed the course and will not produce a certificate. Each time I reported this occurrence, Med-trainer was able to resolve the issue within 2-3 hours or less.

Prior to Medtrainer we offered in-person training which was great. On the downside not all staff could attend the mandatory training sessions during the week especially our weekend and casual staff members. With Medtrainer we can import our own custom training unique to our clinic, we can used the basic training's as offered, and in addition it tracks the users! I can easily run reports and update leadership teams about staff who still need to finish which is super. Love the time-saving capabilities.

Pros

Ease of use for administrator and end-user staff. I really like the functionality and the options it has to support HIPAA, SDA, Emergency Preparedness, etc. It really has expanded very nicely since we first purchased the product 3 years ago.

Cons

There really isn't much I don't like about the software. I would recommend that when new products are released that the administrator of the software is offered an opportunity to review the information within the module for 7 to 10 days prior to purchase. Often I am busy and the presentation isn't enough since I am very hands-on.

MedTrainer was my training tool when starting with this company. Now, as the administrator to newly onboarded users, I can see why we have stuck with MedTrainer for so long to meet our HIPAA and Safety training needs.

Pros

MedTrainer allows us to assign a bundle of courses to our new users which makes sure that all users receive the same training. Courses are interactive and designed in a way that encourages the user to explore all information provided in the modules.

Cons

The only issue we encounter is having to enable pop-ups in our browser to access courses, which is an easy fix!

The Training is covering most training . But it is important to have updated courses so that employees are engaged. Video courses would be a plus.

The program does not address all aspects of Healthcare safety: Chemical Hygiene Plan Laser Safety Radiation Safety for Imaging: CT, MRI, Echo, Laboratory Safety Hazardous Waste, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, BioHaz. Electrical and Maintenance

Reason for choosing MedTrainer

The Technical Service department was will to work with me to design a good program. They modified the SDS files to make it easier to search for chemicals.
