I do find the financial statement data such as cash flow, capex can sometimes be incorrect for international companies Pros The depth of financial data available on FactSet. We use FactSet for broad range of tasks such as equity research, portfolio statistics and industry research Cons I think the price is bit high, compared to LSEG Eikon. While the dataset may not be as robust as Bloomberg, the data you get with the basic subscription should be adequate for most users. While CapIQ has essentially the same data for slightly cheaper it is worth noting the user interface saves a lot of time finding the specific data you need. I think the modest incremental cost is outweighed by the respective time savings. Pros The user interface is clean and easy to navigate. Super quick to find what I need. Excel plug in is helpful as well especially with the template library. Cons Base pricing gets you pretty generic market data. If you need industry specific data and/or research that is extra. All the extras can quickly add up. Switched from [S&P Capital IQ Pro](https://www.capterra.com/p/210149/S-P-CAPITAL-IQ-PLATFORM/) CapIQ, while slightly cheaper, is clunky and difficult to navigate. While it is still easier than Bloomberg, FactSet's interface blows CapIQ out of the water. Alternatives considered [Bloomberg Terminal](https://www.capterra.com/p/230048/Bloomberg-Terminal/) Reasons for choosing FactSet While Bloomberg has a lot more market data (a single pricing model as opposed to sum of the parts), it became cost prohibitive for our needs. Also worth noting the interface is really old and requires training just to navigate. Not intuitive at all. Though the loading speed and sometime in-correct number is of concern as referring to the data extracted from Factset and company's balance sheet always is not possible. Pros Factset is a comprehensive financial research platform with an intuitive user interface and excellent customer support. I begin with the research about company name and it gives the entire dashboard quickly at once where you see the financial records and can do the comparative analysis. I must say that the customer service of Factset is very prompt. Cons The entire tool take a bit of time to load and requires high speed internet connection (at least 50MBPS and above) to open. Though sometime the numbers are incorrect when the same is compared to the balance sheet of the company which in turn is rectified by the factset team when raised a ticket. I also like the ability to see the overview of companies and get a great understanding of what they do and their financials. Being able to compare industry specific research about certain companies is a great feature as well. Cons It is very difficult to use and understand how to complete desired calculations. It can be time consuming manually building out calculations that you want to be visible because they are not available or you just don't know where to locate them.
