Pros From the moment I interacted with Redzone at another colleague’s factory I was hooked! I’ve been working in the manufacturing continuous improvement world for the past 15 years and had never come across a digital solution that could easily connect what operators do every shift in their actions & standards to how this impacted their performance results. For years we had been asking operators to manually track this information on white boards and paper checklists which took time away from problem solving & furthering their competency. The easy to use and engaging interface was another key benefit because it was similar to how they communicate in their own personal lives. Throughout our implementation across 20 sites I witnessed first hand the power of how this tool brought generations together to speak a common language and learn from each other not only in technology but also equipment knowledge transfer. Cons One feature that could be explored is the ability to communicate between users across multiple sites which would allow subject matter experts to collaborate and share best practices. We're now utilizing the huddle function and as team the SIC process has progress. the team now focus on the right actions, and call the play function has really helps us with it Pros its certainly made our teams jobs a lot easier as we can now track the live performance of each plant and act if the OEE has dropped. its helped us track our kaizens easier too, and supports with actions created throughout this process. Cons due to sensor issues within our bakery we're still reliant on operators for manual input. also we don't track our OEE in the correct way. Reason for choosing QAD Redzone we used to use lean driver previously, but this was all manual inputted and required a champion to come out and walk round the bakery archiving all the plants data. Pros Redzone Production Systems gives smaller companies the tools, data, and insights that larger companies can more easily afford and have the talent to manage. The approach is immediately understandable by all employees, even those who don't have English as their primary language. The ability to see how their teams are contributing to the efficient and effective operation of the facility is very engaging and enjoyable for the team. Having the data and insight at their fingertips allows them to interact with senior management and be able to demonstrate their prowess and understanding of how our plant works. In addition, the coaching staff gives you the knowledge and skill set that most small- to mid-size businesses often can't afford on a full-time basis. Cons The entire process, from first sales call to our most recent meeting has always been very valuable and collaborative. We were awarded the Midwest productivity award at PackExpo in 2019 and were virtually awarded the plant of the year in 2020. Working with all of the Redzone staff has been a pleasure, especially the onsite coaching staff. The effort the put in matched or exceeded our efforts and they really are part of the Marianna family. Pros Redzone was a key catalyst in helping Marianna Beauty change the culture on our shop floor. It gave our workers a voice that could be heard in many different languages, it enabled our employees to tell us what they needed to be successful then follow the progress as we implemented their ideas. Redzone revolutionized the way we communicate and solve issues together. Cons The part I like least about Redzone is also one of the biggest benefits... I have access to my plant 24/7 which is great but can cause other issues. It is not uncommon to be laying in bed at night communicating with an operator over an issues and realize it is now 1 am. The data Redzone provides is immense and I find that you have to take bit size chunks and focus improvement in specific areas or you can dilute efforts. Redzone is constantly looking at different and new ways to enhance the software. These enhancements usually seek to improve alignment throughout the organization and increase output. Pros Versatility of offering. Productivity, Compliance, Maintenance, and Communication portals all bundled into one package. Cons As a contract manufacturer, changeovers are constantly occurring and play a vital role in winning or losing the day. Assessing and datamining standard to actuals on changeover times can be difficult. Reason for choosing QAD Redzone The product offering aligned very well with our strategic initiatives and the journey that we are on, not just in measuring OEE, but in enhancing the culture and much more. Additionally, were other OEE resources simply ship you the product or allow an upload of software, Redzone collaborated with the team and helped coach-in the software. This coach supported model helped enhance the product offering and drive enhanced utilization throughout the production floor. Redzone is a tremendous tool to allows people to perform their jobs at the high level they need to. Redzone makes life on the production floor much easier and less frustrating. Pros It is a platform everyone can use and get information. It is up to the individual how much information they want. Anyone who logs in can review and see multiple levels of detail, or they can simply use it as a communication tool. How deep the user gets into the software is up to the individual. Everyone can see this information. It is an open platform and extremely transparent. Also the ability to create and customize checks is very beneficial and a game changer. Cons The maintenance package is very exciting but not having the ability to track inventory parts and order makes the leadership reluctant to make a decision. We no longer required to manually create downtime logs, worker have more time to get on with actual value added work and the level of communication within our enterprise has improved. Pros we like the real time data so we can act quickly to resolve any issues. we also like the fact that it has Chinese language support as well as a dedicated Chinese speaking coach. He is very professional with great level of industry knowledge and highly supportive throughout the whole journey . Cons As of any new technology, it would take some time for our front line team to get used to and it take strong leadership from our team to enforce and make sure they are accountable for their data integrity. There team becomes part of your team, if your company buys into the culture. Pros Help to facilitate a collaborative culture within the facility driving communication between the support functions. Has great ability to incorporate picture and video to task that are needed to be accomplished. Multiple options for task generation frequency. Multiple layers of software available and they are strict in how you roll them out, so you don't take on too much at one time. Cons Does not completely replace a full CMMS system. Allows some copying of information between areas, but not all of them, so it requires hours of data input to get the system up and going, but this is similar across many software packages that do this. Pros The most impactful was the downtime recording that structured a sensitivity on stopping the machines for a non-valid reason. Communication improvement between departments and shifts was also a major benefit. It's a very user-friendly software for every level of employee. It was very easy to intergrade and everyone hooked up to it fairly fast. Cons As all integrations with new software comes with challenges but the support team and coach were very responsive. Both our Kaizen events went well & the team was so proud to hear about the 18% decrease in downtime, 30% productivity increase & 100% paperless. Pros I didn't start training on Redzone until two months after it launched at Just Desserts. \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] made sure I had the opportunity to catch up and learn what was needed. I think the best features in my role are the different chats you can have to stay in contact with the production team and the operations module to see the runs and review with the production supervisors. Pros Redzone was very easy to deploy throughout the factory. Users learned the software very quickly which along with the hands on coaching allowed for a seamless implementation. The software is awesome. The people are also awesome. If you are looking for a game changing experience, Redzone delivers. Pros The software is easy to use. It also takes advantage of user trends. It is mobile and convenient. All of our users are familiar with and know how to operate a smart phone or a tablet already. This makes the software intuitive and easy to use and train. Additionally, it has improved communication in our plants dramatically. Chat functions, attachments, pictures, real-time data. We are always in synch in our plants, in a way in which we never could have imagined in the past. Cons It is really hard to find a con. April 15, 2021 5.0 Redzone has helped our manufacturing facilities identified main losses in their production systems and areas of focus for Kaizen events and improvement projects, which has resulted in OEE uplift. It has improved the communication between operations, quality and maintenance teams. Pros Redzone is not only an OEE tracking system, but also a great communication tool that gives a voice to our team members on the production floor. The user interface is very intuitive and it's designed with the key foundational elements of continuous improvement. The system has great features including messaging, "high 5", etc., which help us with employee engagement, recognition and communication. Cons We still have some work to integrate Redzone with our SAP system, but we are getting full support from the Redzone technical team. The cloud approach is a positive and the initial implementation coaching is a plus. We can create several reports using our BI system (Tableau) and we can get results faster because the system was designed with people behavior in mind. The system also allows for great communication even when there is "social distancing" now that we are in the age of COVID-19. October 17, 2023 5.0 We have received points on audits in the past due to missing information on paperwork an now Redzone does not allow for these items to be overlooked. I haven't been through an audit yet but i already see where the improvement will lie in completions and sign offs of documentation. Pros I love having all of our quality and production records in one place. It has eliminated tracking down supervisors and ops for missed checks. I also get a lot of calls at home regarding plant issues, having my tablet with Redzone has made it easier to communicate and see what is going on in the plant when I am not on site. The coaching is also great and they are extremely helpful! I will admit when we talked about how much was going to be put into Redzone I was a bit hesitant but with all of our coaching they made it so easy!
