SproutVideo is very easy to use and reliable for hosting professional video content. The platform is intuitive, the player works smoothly, and videos load quickly without issues. Cons

My overall experience was a relatively seamless transition from Vimeo to have SproutVideo host my website's videos.

Pros

Great alternative for hosting videos. The software is well-documented so it typically just takes a bit of digging to find what you need.

Cons

Learning curve is a bit steep for someone coming from Vimeo, but as I said above, the software is well documented. If all else fails, the SV staff have been great at assisting me.

It has been easy uploading. I particularly like the feature that allows me to upload updated videos without having to change the embed codes on my website.

Pros

It is not YouTube. Users to my not-for-profit educational website can view my instructional videos without ads, without Google tracking, and without Google making money off of my content.

Cons

I hope the technical team will work on developing code that would allow embedding videos in an interactive ePub (v3.2), etc.

Customer service is helpful and my content is uploaded and working. I haven’t had any issues. The website is fairly easy to use.

Pros

Great way to upload videos to use on third party websites. Customer service is nice and the price isn’t too high.

Cons

Everything has been good so far. I haven’t had any issues in the three months I’ve been a subscriber to Sprouts Video.

Pros

SproutVideo offers a very good balance between cost and ease of use. The pricing is fair compared to competitors, and the platform is simple to understand, set up, and manage videos without unnecessary complexity.

Cons

The main downside is the lack of a truly friendly mobile experience. Managing videos or settings from a mobile device is not very convenient, and the interface feels clearly optimized for desktop rather than mobile users.

It's been a huge learning curve for us, but overall very satisfied with the functionality of the Sprout Video server and the kindness and reactivity of staff for our issues.

Pros

We recently transferred our video database to Sprout Video and are super happy with the results so far. We love how easy it is to customize and integrate the videos into our Patroen page. Any issues and work arounds have been quickly resolved with the customer care team at our service.

Cons

Often we are unable to upload directly from mobile (probably due to a cloud error on our end), so we need to first transfer it to a computer and then from there upload via a web browser. It would be great to have a built in editor on SproutVideo so we could trim the videos that are already uploaded. We have also learned that we are not able to upload any videos shot vertically as it results in a crop malfunction on the streamer's end.

Overall, Sprout been a great tool and does exactly what I need it to do. It gives me the ability to share video to people outside of my organization, while ensuring the confidential information within is protected.

Pros

I came to Sprout because I was looking for a way to share senstive video assets. The dynamic watermark feature is excellent and gives me confidence that the content will not "accidentally" end up somewhere it shouldn't.

Cons

I find the interface to add users and share videos with them a little clunky. Its not super intuitive and if I havent been in the tool for a minute it always takes me a second to figure it out again.
