Our company is small, so for the time being, we still use paper for the checks and pay stubs. The great thing is that we are in the process of switching everything to being digital. Overall, this software is great. The software is secure, and the set up is straightforward. I can clearly see how much money is going out weekly. Pros We love how simple it is. This was the first payroll app I've ever used and I didn't have any trouble picking it up. It also made it easy to get my employees setup and paid. Cons On occasion we do run into a problem where the taxes are not being taken out. For example: features like Payroll, Time Tracking, and Inventory Management are not included in base plans. I end up finding a work around or fix returns myself when needed to avoid support as much as possible. Pros The software is easy to access for my clients and direct deposit works well. I like that it is integrated with the accounting sotware so no double entry. Cons The online software does not allow you to make changes as needed. As a CPA, I am well versed in payroll and understand the implications of any changes I make. I should be allowed to make changes as needed, the sameway I can in QuickBooks Desktop. I like this very much. Very easy to learn even no background in Accounting. Cons You can edit even the reports are already done. You should put all data and give more time. Which for mine is thankfull. Pros It is easy to do your own bookkeeping. It is easy to keep up with receipts, vendors, income etc. Cons It is not easily programmed with all software's compatibility. Staff are able to clock in and out, I am able to change any information that is needed. Direct deposit has been a life saver. Pros Makes it easy to pay staff and taxes both state and federal. I am still working on how to set up customer information due to having most cases paid by the county and not clients directly. Customer support has been amazing. Any question I have they are quick to resolve. I feel safe proving information to the site as well as saving pay stubs for clients. This is one of the best investments I have made in the 8 years of being a business owner. So far any issues that I have had have been resolved. Cons I have no issues thus far with QuickBooks. The only thing that I did not like was the auto draft for employees, it would not catch the additional hours they worked. It would only pay for the set time/schedule. Review Source EP Emily P. We used QuickBooks payroll for over 10 years but eventually the software glitches made us look for a new system. It works well for very small businesses with a very limited number of employees. Pros It was easy to track and update payroll. The automatic payroll updates with tax tables were very helpful. The liability payments and tax fililngs were very simple. Cons It was slow to process payroll, and it often had glitches. We had to contact Quickbooks support on a regular basis who often had us do unconventional workarounds for known system errors until they could have a software update released.
