### "Nuclino for the Weirdos "

July 25, 2023

5.0

I am looking to jump start several businesses and writing projects in collaboration and individually. Nuclino has provided a way for me to share and organize my information seamlessly and skillfully. Although I am just an average joe, I feel more productive and professional while using Nuclino. I think it is a good platform for anyone who is striving to create an impact in the world.

Pros

I enjoy the user friendly interface and the simplicity of the project creation and sharing process.

Cons

So far, I will say it was a little difficult to understand how to create an outline at first. This is my only con and it really does not detract from all the pros of the platform.

Switched from

[Google Docs](https://www.capterra.com/p/160756/Google-Docs/)

I found that Google docs was not something that everyone outside of a professional setting would know how to use. The folders and subfolders make it feel more like an office meeting rather than a collaborative process. It seemed very rigid to me, which is not something I want my collaborators to struggle with when creating. I feel like every person has a purpose and not being able to efficiently use a platform should not keep us from acheiving our goals.

### "Delightful markdown handling and a straightforward UI. Scaling nicely, too."

November 4, 2024

5.0

Very pleased. I have shared a few emails with the \[sensitive content hidden\] and was pleased to get some feedback on the feature ideas that I shared. It's a likeable tool and one has the feeling that it's put together by a team that care. I'm already known as the dorky research guy at work so I have been recommending it to a couple of our associated non-profits!

Pros

I discovered Nuclino after searching for a wiki/notepad/knowledge base tool storing LLM outputs that I've been capturing both for personal use and for work. Because LLMs tend to output as markdown, seamless markdown handling was a top requirement. I initially used Obsidian for this purpose but quickly realised that for the knowledge repository to have any use (ie, for me to read the outputs I was storing) convenient mobile access was a must. Others were clearly intended for use in the business context / as teams and as a passionate but solo user, the features didn't make sense for my use-case. The the main challenge: it was surprisingly difficult to find a tool that: a) had the kind of seamless markdown handling Obsidian offers and which b) could handle my import of notes. Although 3K doesn't seem like a huge "wiki" to me, it simply overwhelmed a couple of systems I tried. I found it hard to believe that any knowledge management tool could crumble under what seems to me like a fairly modest volume. Nuclino has presented zero problems in that respect so far - neither in loading times nor in indexing performance. Everything saves pretty much instantly and I haven't had any difficulty in retrieving saved items via search. In other words, it provides the level of performance that I've long been accustomed to with tools like Google Drive. The import process was straightforward with one exception: it didn't like some of the non-standard markdown syntax which Obsidian adds. So a word of warning to users making the same migration: consider running your notes through standardisation process before importing. I got ChatGPT to write me up a quick Python script and it did the job! Nuclino had the most fluid markdown handling out of the box of any of the tools I tried and I instantly like that it didn't try to be too "clever". A lot of tools in the knowledge management space try to bring users along on a complicated system. I liked that Nuclino got out of the way and leaved me to do all I wanted it to do: give me a nice and fluid notepad to save outputs, edit them, and read them. I also like that some thought has been put into the data export feature (I'll come to backups below). I initially thought that the archives didn't contain an index but was happy to stand corrected. You get your files back too. I wish I could say that this was standard, but quite a few SaaS tools forget to liberate large parts of the user's data footprint. It's nice to see that Nuclino offers a data export tool that does what it promises. It's also good to see that they're adding features (public workspaces were announced today). The UI is minimalist, but not static. For anyone who appreciates markdown editing and wants a cloud experience that can mirror those in some of the local-only tools, I would say this is a great place to start.

Cons

Not Nuclino-specific, but the only reason I ever self-host (and avoid SaaS) is because I'm hesitant to fully hand off control of my data, especially when it's either sensitive or business-related. I was hoping to be able to use the API to extract data, but I couldn't coerce it into doing that. Some of the other tools I looked at had richer APIs which explicitly supported this purpose. On the plus side, Nuclino does let you export your workspace as a Zip. So with a bit of scripting, I was able to achieve my objective of having a cloud backup of my data in a roundabout way (I just need to remember to pull down the zip once a week).

### "Nuclino would be best in small group environments"

November 24, 2025

3.0

Overall experience has been so-so. Again, not super user friendly, and while the open structure is nice, it is almost too open when you have many people using it.

Pros

Nuclino is a nice place for the entire company to share ideas and task instructions. Think of it as an opportunity to save all of your instructions for tasks in the same place, easily accessible to all.

Cons

Nuclino is great in theory, however it was not easy to get all of our team onboard. I also find that Nuclino links don't seem to work unless you are already logged in.

Hi Dana, thanks for sharing your feedback. Nuclino is designed as an internal team collaboration tool, but you can make individual items accessible without login by sharing them publicly, and you can publish entire workspaces when broader access is needed. We'd love to learn more about what would have made it easier to onboard your team. If you're open to sharing more details, feel free to reach out at contact@nuclino.com.

### "Nuclino strikes the right balance of simplicity and robustness"

October 1, 2024

5.0

I really like this app. Do I wish it were easier to publish to the public? Sure. But you can export to Obsidian for that. Would I recommend Obsidian instead of Nuclino? Personally no. Obsidian seems more obtuse for non-programmers; like it was made by programmers for other developers... Nuclino seems more human native. It requires less poetics of code mentality and familiarity. Basically I love the product but - as with all 'Nirvana' or 'one product to organize all' products like OneNote, Evernote and Obsidian etc.. it really comes down to how you want to approach the mountain (technical climber or day hiker). Nuclino is somewhere between Github and Evernote and most people will find that to be a comfort zone that strikes a nice balance. I should add the performance is amazing.

Pros

Extremely easy to use. Relatively intuitive interface with strengths in the area of easy organization and multiple view types ready at hand. The graph view is especially useful. Great performance and good for people taking notes on their phone but also using desk/laptops.

Cons

As a maturing product, there will be hard decisions to be made on the spectrum from ease of use to depth of functionality. Like simple is great (see one function apps) but robust feature sets (think Blender or Adobe suite) increases the learning curve. I would love the ability to see the graph in a manner that included links between pages (mereologies) vs. currently just the parent/child relationship (taxonomies). I'd also love a back button! But as I think of these things I suspect the developers have too and I'm sure they are working on ways to tier or nest controls to continue to strike the magical balance between robustness and simplicity. Nuclino is a great app and any cons are probably largely subjective preferences.

### " Efficient and Simple, but Could Use a Few More Features"

November 4, 2024

4.0

Nuclino has been a fantastic tool for organizing ideas and collaborating with others in a minimalistic environment. While it could benefit from a few more advanced editing controls, it does a great job as a quick, easy-to-use knowledge management tool.

Pros

Nuclino is quick to respond and makes it incredibly easy to create and manage content. The simplicity of its interface and the intuitive design allow you to organize information seamlessly, which is great for teams or individuals looking for a straightforward tool to manage knowledge.

Cons

### "Nuclino is Knowledge Management that Doesn't get in your Way"

October 1, 2024

4.0

The main reason to use Nuclino is that it is an overall well-designed piece of software that doesn't get in your way. It may lack in certain features, but the point of Nuclino is not to be overloaded with features. It is just a simple and effective way to store information, and it works very well as that.

Pros

1\. Nuclino is very easy to write and edit on - the text editor functions are simple yet effective 2. Nuclino is very simple to understand - there aren't pages and pages of menus and endless functions. It cuts down a knowledge base to what is required 3. Nuclino is reasonably priced 4. The graph view is a great piece of design

Cons

1\. The list view can be confusing to understand and click through, especially when you have many different sub folders. It is hard to get an idea for where you are in the folder structure when compared to, say, Windows File Explorer. 2. Moving items around in different folders can be frustrating when you have to drag them a lot with the mouse 3. Trying to edit hyperlinks can be annoying when right clicking brings up the normal right-click windows menu and double clicking to try to edit in Nuclino just clicks on the link

### "Great place for your wikis!"

February 10, 2025

4.0

Overall our experience was really good, we were able to take full advantage of the tool and it improved the way internal information was shared within our team.

Pros

It proved to be a convenient way to have our company's wikis stored and accessible for the team. We were able to build a library for our coworkers to easily access and review at their convenience.

Cons

Some of our users struggled with finding some of the information in the way it got sorted within the app. For everyday use regarding project management, it was a little less intuitive than other potential tools.

### "Great product"

February 20, 2023

5.0

It's a great product for building company documentation which can be shared and maintained by multiple people. We use this product to store a lot of our customer service documentation like answers to common questions and problem resolution how-to's.

Pros

Very easy to organize hundreds of documents into categories and sub-categories. The formatting of each document works great by just copy/pasting with little to no need to manual adjustment. Search works great, and we use search a lot!

Cons

Nothing yet. We had some questions about the formatting and the support was great!

Working in HR/Ops we're always making updates to Our Nuclino. I access it almost daily and had created sections of our nuclino and I really like it! Its easy to use. Looks clean and organized. Easy to set up different sections for different topics

Pros

The ease. I like that I can use emojis. I like the search feature as well! makes it super easy for employees to find policies they may be looking for.

### "Using Nuclino for Engineering Documentation"

August 11, 2021

5.0

Pros

Nuclino has an extremely intuitive user interface. New users can get spooled up extraordinarily quickly and start contributing immediately. It's also extremely clean and able to accommodate varying levels of hierarchy very well. It allows for live collaborative editing of the pages, which is a huge convenience for teams that have multiple people working on the same project. Coming from documentation tools that required checking out/checking in of the pages, this is a huge benefit.

Cons

I think the one feature that I'd love to see added is the ability to access control individual "clusters" and "items" (which are Nuclino's terms for folders and pages). A workspace itself can be access controlled and locked, but all items within a public workspace are publicly visible. For me, certain items make organizational sense to put in a public workspace, but they're not things I'd like to share publicly with my organization.

### "Nuclino "

April 21, 2020

My overall experience with nuclino was amazing it’s a great tour I have when building a small company or running a marketing team. It allows you to work with every different branch a matter how large or how small due to its ability to have multiple users make sharing information credibly easy without the hassle and allows for real time work. It has amazing tools to use for any project making things go smoothly for any magazine users magazine creators social media marketing or anything else imaginable.

Pros

What I love most about the software is that it’s shares documents, images, and PDFs a real time speed but allows anyone to join in on a project. In a previous job our team used to use the software in order to share idea faster on big projects. Working In a former marketing agency that came in handy with working with social media clients who want to promote content faster while working on producing merchandise at the same speed. The ability to have a correct or emails in a shared space we were able to ensure that all members on our team have a proper punctuation and new the perfect thing to say without having to be worried of any mistakes. Cons

The only con about the software is when using its beta version online The website and clank up information and sometimes when using auto correct it may put something it recognizes from other emails onto you a current message. ### "Highly efficient knowledge management for ease of documentation"

March 17, 2023

5.0

The first time I used Nuclino I was surprised at how simple and intuitive it is to edit a workspace, whether it be adding new items and sub-collections, or formatting collections themselves. Nuclino is very diverse in terms of what you can do with this software. Specifically, knowledge management is highly efficient and user-friendly.

Pros

Nuclino's knowledge base management is incredibly useful for organising extensive amounts of information in the form of Monash High Powered Rocketry's Team Wiki Workspace. The workspaces are very user-friendly, and allow new team members to easily locate and add information.

Cons

The only feature of Nuclino that is difficult to use when you have a very large workspace is the graph function; it can be tricky to navigate all of the sections of the workspace in this format. However, for smaller workspaces the graph is still a very nice visual representation of the information.

I am very impressed with the software so far and happy with my choice of product.

Pros

I chose Nuclino for its integration with AirTable, but I am impressed with its ease of use and capacity for both secure access and public pages.

Cons

So far I have not found anything missing from the application.
