I do rapid 3D modelling on trimble sketchup then import the model on Lumion. I was blown away by how easily you can achieve realistic views in Lumion Pros Its ease of use and prebuilt libraries are amazing! Cons It is centered around architecture industry. As I am an industrial engineer who has worked on software involving 3D factory, I wish it has those features too! The built-in library is usually all you need for most visualization tasks and importing from Sketchup is incredibly easy and usually flawless. The owners came to visit me personally from across the world and they were very friendly and wanted to ensure I was getting the most from their software. Very stand-up company in that regard. Cons There isn't an export function or measuring tool in the editor. This limits what the software can do dramatically, but maintains security and value on their end. Reason for choosing Lumion Graphics quality was better in Lumion than twinmotion and other software. Lumion is the rendering software at hand for any firm or practicing freelancer architect. This will transform your plain 3D presentations to something the is eye catching and appealing. A highly recomendable software with just very few and bearable cons and problems. Pros The best part of the software is the 3D additions and allowance to use real skies. The software will allow you to add 3D grass without bogging up or slowing down your machine and make it appear as if it was a captured image rather than processed. The HDR skyboxes in lumion 7,8,9 improve the overall lighting of the image and gives it a realistic look. Cons The new addition of the lean UI in the lumion 9 is a standard con. This has disabled many features which include the ability to select and filter multiple categories. Another con is the video playback which is quite slow and time consuming. Pros This software has amazing rendering abilities. The newer version has a very large "animated" library that gives life to any building model we've got. It does not even take a lot of computer memory or processors to provide us with a very good quality output. Pros An impressive and up-to-date software for both designers and architects, it renders very quickly so you can save a lot of time while it quietly renders in the background. The details of the renders such as animals are also very much appreciable and add a natural touch to the renders created by this software. Cons The animations could be much smoother and the controls for the animations could be more intuitive to use. If you know the pros/ cons of the program then makes using it easy and worthwhile. Pros Great rendering software especially for design students. Easy to use and can import revit models. Pretty easy to learn basics. Cons Had to re-import model and each individual item had to have own material name or would duplicate. Needs huge file drive to run so could go slow at times. Pros Lo que mas me gusta es la biblioteca de materiales que otorga y las opciones de edicion de estos mismos, cuenta tambien con una amplia biblioteca de vegetacion y personas, y ademas de hacer imagenes puedes hacer video o dar movimiento, si bien no es el software mas facil de usar sin haber tomado algun curso, una vez que lo consigues logras una calidad superior en imagenes d eproyectos. Cons Lo que menos me gusta es que me sigue pareciendo un poco dificil el tema de navegar por el espacio del programa y conseguir vistas que no queden chuecas de algun lugar se me hace un poco dificil, creo que es cosa de practica, pero esa parte del programa es lo que mas me ha costado y lo que menos me gusta. May 17, 2018 4.0 The ever so demanding clients asking us to show them almost instantly some renderings. Lumion helps us with that. Pros The speed of Lumion producing the wished output is tremendous. The effects stack presets are very welcome option. Cons The price is quite steep. " April 20, 2018 5.0 I get the job done extremely quick. With no previous 3D experience I was able to learn Lumion in the matter of hours and it generated first income in the matter of days. We had a project with 3D elements in it and with extremely short deadline . I don't know of any other software that would allow us to make it done so fast (both thinking about how easy it was to start using and rendering times of complicated structures). I love the "what you see I what you get" aspect of it, and that you see it in real-time, without wasting time to pre-render things. Pros I love how fast it is and how big areas it is possible to render. We did several projects where we needed to render whole cities, or city areas and I don't know of any software that would make it faster then Lumion. Cons There is no versions for Mac. I work in a small advertising agency and iOS is the system of choice for both us and many others in design/advertising/photo industry. I have all of my stuff and resources on the Mac, so moving it back and forth to PC when I need to use Lumion is a big pain. Review Source Delgado N. I love it Pros Lumion is the best rendering software which I have been using for landscaping , making animated video of some model. In my experience, Anyone can easily become familiar with it. Now, more advanced materials which look real and reflect are available. Real time rendering can be done by applying lightning effect( sunrise, sunset, night mode) and water effects. Cons Usually, I face some issues when I import Sketchup file into lumion. If we applied same material for different object in sketchup then It can not be applied different material for that objects. Pros I love that this in several languages, it is very easy to make changes, download the demo and love it !. The 3D camera is very easy to use, and have a variety of textures to use, both indoors and outdoors. Cons The interface is not very intuitive, it is a little complicated to find what you need quickly. I would like to have a chat on a web page, to be able to talk quickly with the support.
