VP, ISO Banking Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Deploys Awesomeness!" April 26, 2021 5.0 Deploy became a one-stop shop for getting software pushed out and updates installed. Especially great for those vendors with constant updates or supplemental tweaks after the install, which can be built into the deployment. Pros The built-in deployments are great! Eliminates most of the effort of seeking out and setting up common installs and updates. They are also easy to customize if that fits your business need better. Pair this scheduling deployments, then you can set it and forget it. This will reduce your admins workload significantly and the return on investment is evident very quickly. Cons It doesn't make coffee. Really, I've got nothing. All around great! Review Source KK Kris K. Sadly there are more comprehensive SaaS solution with cloud offerings that at least for us are more suitable - especially with the shift towards a lot more home working. Pros PDQ is a great interface. It's agentless and sits on a server internally. Using Deploy is easy to do and there are a lot of predefined packages. You can also make your own and use many different deployment methods. Cons I couldn't use it externally easily. This meant machines out of the office were unmanageable. PDQ Link became available in Q2/3 2021 but I could get it to work despite support. PDQ then pulled Support for it and was the final nail in the coffin. Review Source NY Neil Y. Before PDQ, patching was tedious and time consuming. Now, with a few clicks, I can deploy the latest patches for all the software we use in the organization. Pros I like that I can deploy up-to-date patches to all my connected devices in a timely manner, without having to manually do it at each device. It's a HUGE time saver; and it's keeping my organization compliant with regards to software patching. Cons I don't have any issues with PDQ Deploy. It's just awesome! Review Source JD Jason D. It also has a useful scheduler which I am looking to utilise to replace Windows Task Scheduler Cons The deployments cannot be concurrent. Cons There is no agent. Sometimes the error messages I get back are very genric. Reason for choosing PDQ Deploy & Inventory Price and ease of use. And I love the weekly web shows. Pros Super easy to use, works wonderfully with PDQ Deploy. Cons Windows only, if there was a cross platform component it would be perfect. It makes automation very simple. Pros PDQ Deploy makes scheduling software deployment or vulnerability mitigation simple, especially when paired with Inventory. I can set up a deployment that looks in an AD OU and pinpoints what assets are missing the software, so our deployments are intelligent and aren't unnecessarily clogging the network pipes. Saves a lot of time and effort because you don't have to go to an end user computer or try to connect with them somehow to install anything, you can just set up a package to deploy silently with no user intervention. Pros The best part of PDQ Deploy is the ability to deploy software and updates/patches to computers on our network. Pretty easy to figure out how to build a deployment package and works exceptionally well. Also easy to understand. Cons I really have no cons to speak of other than sometimes we cannot connect to a computer to perform a scan or deployment but that isn't really the fault of the software, that's more of a network issue. We have users working from home using vpn and deployments fail for them sometimes. Reason for choosing PDQ Deploy & Inventory We didn't really look at any other products. I found PDQ while doing some research and it was recommended by other users. The price was definitely right for the features we received. Review Source CC Charles C. Very much worth the price -Ease of use. Anyone with a bit of IT knowledge can quickly install this program and start using it at a moments notice - Kind and quick Support. Everyone at PDQ (that I have worked with) is friendly and easy to work with. - Versatile. This program works with practically any setup. Cons If I had to have one complaint I would certainly say that its the fact they are without a phone support line. Everything is done either through their forums or email. PDQ makes deploying software or custom on the fly changes to workstations a breeze. We dont use GPOs anymore for software. Scheduled deploys, scripting, you can run scripts with local authentication which is great if a computer falls off the domain. Combined with PDQ inventory very powerful. Great built in repository of programs and such. The software is built very well and intuitive. Pros We can easily generate and schedule reports to help us manage our environment. We have a small team and PDQ Inventory keeps us on task with automated reports. Cons PDQ Inventory displays the current logged in user, but it would be helpful if PDQ Inventory could store the last (5) users to log into each workstation and display that information when needed. May 20, 2021 5.0 Fantastic. it's allowed me to automate and manage a 1200+ machine network that was near impossible before I had PDQ to help. Plus, it's priced amazingly compared to other solutions. Pros PDQ's ease of use combined with the sheer number of features is staggering (in a good way!) It's super easy not just to deploy patches but also to automate command line and scripting across many machines at once. The automated package library is huge and makes my life much easier. SCCM is right now only used when really needed as for larger forced deployments. Pros The simplicity, the application itself is good but used together with pdq inventory it becomes great.
