### "Does what you ask it to do "

April 16, 2023

5.0

It alerts us to problems before being reported by the end user

Pros

I’ve use it for all sorts, managing 500 machines. I use collections to alert me to machines missing keyboard/mice, hard drive space, machines offline for over 3 days. Battery life in laptops. Software inventory….. the list goes on

Cons

It’s dependancy on DNS. I’m not sure if our dns is configured correctly

Reason for choosing PDQ Deploy & Inventory

The college had already purchased it

### "For Easy Deployment and Version management use PDQ"

December 13, 2022

5.0

Deploy has been fantastic to use, removing old VNC clients post-pandemic and adding a free to use version was already built in for RealVNC and TightVNC (Free)

Pros

Being able to see the individual steps of the install and where they fail is critical in order to deploy our apps to new and old hosts. Using deploy we can edit each individual step in order to make deploys run smoothly. There's usually prebuilt installation packages for installations which for most of our 'basic' apps we like to use and it saves time for us to create and manage these items.

Cons

Using it without PDQ Inventory is slightly more involved. I wouldn't be surprised if they managed to merge the two apps together somewhere down the road as they're both powerhouses in management.

### "PDQ-Lifesaver"

October 7, 2021

5.0

Many updates can be sent out and installed silently while the computer is in use. Makes them think I'm some sort of magician.

Pros

I used to be up at night updating or installing in computer labs until as late as 2am to have the labs ready for the next day. Couldnt do it duing the day because the computers were always in use. Now I can just schedule installs/updates before I leave work and they are done before I go to bed - at a normal time.

Cons

The only thing I like least about PDQ is how long it took to learn about it

Reason for choosing PDQ Deploy & Inventory

It was recommended to me by a peer. Tried it and stayed with it

### "Great for free features, can't afford pay features."

August 13, 2021

4.0

IT has been great for years, I love that I can just click a computer and remote desktop by hitting keys, I love that it scans and tells me it needs rebooting, although that is getting to be to much now, it has always been great in the past. I can also run commands turning on/off services, that allow other software to work on them as well, but I don't need left on all the time.

Pros

It allows me to do many things from 1 central place that I could do for free with other scripts and tools, but PDQ has made put it all into one nice package.

Cons

Wake on lan tool used to work better over vLans now I have to use another tool for that. It is also saying computers need to be rebooting almost everyday even when computers don't seem to say themselves. This is the key feature I use PDQ Inventory for, scan and see if they are all up to date and need restart for updates.

Reason for choosing PDQ Deploy & Inventory

I found PDQ for the free services, I have purchased lab monitoring software for student computers that does some of the same things, but not all. Needed it to monitor desktop activity.

### "PDQ Deploy (and PDQ Inventory) are essential to making remote management and monitoring easier."

December 13, 2022

5.0

My experience has been great. I really cant complain about much TBH.

Pros

I love being able to easily have PDQ integrate into my AD/DC environment and be able to inventory all of the workstations in my various offices.

Cons

This is not really a 'con' per se, but I wish the pricing was adjustable based on the how many devices you are managing with it. I feel it can be pricey for smaller businesses who just want to make things easier for them.

Reason for choosing PDQ Deploy & Inventory

Ease of use. Free trail allowed me to know if it would work in my use case.

### "My "easy" button"

December 13, 2022

5.0

Pros

PDQ can do almost everything SCCM can do but with less clicks and less configuration. It just works.

Cons

Currently doesn't scan/manage non-Windows devices such as printers or alternate OSes. Hope to see that in the future.

### "Save time while keeping your IT infrastructure up to date"

January 19, 2022

5.0

PDQ Deploy need a bit of work to prepare the software packages, but after this first step (which can be demanding in some cases), the deployment and updates are like "click-and-wait". Since we are using PDQ Deploy, we can finaly keep our IT infrastructure consistent and up to date very easily and with only a few efforts.

Pros

Integrated packages for a lot of common applications, highly configurable software packae deployement, reliable, easy to use and well integrated in the Windows professionnal environnement.

Cons

PDQ Deploy does not allow you to really track the deployement history and the state of your IT infrastructure. External solutions (e.g. PDQ Inventory) are needed in order to know if a product or product version is already deployed.

### "PDQ is a Game Changer"

December 13, 2022

5.0

PDQ has been a great addition to our district. I can't imagine working without it.

Pros

PDQ was a game changer for me and my district. It has helped us keep better track of our devices and the software being used with them.

Cons

PDQ is a great product and I love many things about it. The only challenging part for me was getting it connected to my network.

### "Must have part of large network"

December 21, 2022

5.0

I've used it for a large portion of my career. Always been essential.

Pros

The multitude of deployment options. Built in or downloadable uninstalls for almost everything. Running powershell commands on 2000 pcs couldn't be easier.

Cons

Sometimes I wish there was a client option for the occasional DNS issues.

### "PDQ : An useful, easy to configure and use product in a really affordable shape !"

December 14, 2022

5.0

We started with this product without thinking it could be so great. It is now a mandatory tool in our IT business.

Pros

PDQ is the backbone of our compliance management. Really easy to setup and to manage, it allows a total control of the patch, application management of our IT inventoried machines. And everything at a very affordable cost.

Cons

A better looking management interface could be welcome.

### "PDQ one of the best on the market"

December 13, 2022

5.0

Is a very useful software that helps me manage many machines.

Pros

The deploy section is very helpfull, giving me speed and time to do other tasks while the PDQ take care of the instalation and actions using scripts. After using this software many of my problems was solved.

Cons

I think pdq need to use clients in the machines for better results in the deployment, sometimes the pdq have trouble finding the machine and freezes in the status "conecting" or return the error "The network path was not found" Maybe a client help mitigate this problem. Another thing, i have some machines in home office modality, and because of that i cant manage this machines.

### "Great software at a good price"

December 13, 2022

5.0

Love the software and the weekly videos!

Pros

I love the automatic patch management. I love how I can keep all my software up to date and not have any outdated machines running on my network. I also love having all my inventory of machines in one simple place.

Cons

As dumb as it sounds I would absolutely love a version for Mac. We have several macs in our district as well. I know I can get an MDM but would love something that's built into PDQ

### "Just pull the trigger, you won't regret it. "

December 21, 2022

This has made our lives here tremendously easy, it gives you everything in one centralized console.

Pros

Ease of use, how simple it was to deploy it and keep our systems updated.

Cons

None, it's easy to understand and maintain.

Reason for choosing PDQ Deploy & Inventory

After reviewing it and testing it out for free, this was hands down the clear winner.

### "PC Management multitool"

April 17, 2023

5.0

Overall, Inventory has become a staple for us, any other product would cost much much more and would not be as simple or quick.

Pros

Dead simple setup, with quite powerful tools.

Cons

Lack of remote client aside (Connect would resolve that) , lack of information for connection errors, and the basic reports with certain fields limiting other fields is quite annoying.

### "Great Product to Fit Any Budget"

December 21, 2022

5.0

Pros

When using a software solution to automate certain tasks (like patch management), it's important that the product is simple to use and fit to purpose. PDQ Deploy is not one of those packages that you purchase and quickly forget about.

Cons

We haven't encountered any issue that we were not able to resolve by either viewing the many supportive YouTube videos or supporting documentation. We would be hard pressed to identify a feature we didn't appreciate.

Reason for choosing PDQ Deploy & Inventory

The ability to roll out third party application updates has been a major factor in this product.

### "Excellent value for managing software across the network"

December 21, 2022

4.0

We are able to keep more software up-to-date and increase our security measures as a result of deploying PDQ.

Pros

It's very easy to create and deploy software to all connected devices. We are able to quickly create a deployment, determine who needs it, and set it to run. Within minutes we can push new software or updates out to every machine on the network.

Cons

PDQ does not use an agent, so you can only install software on devices on the internal network. It would be nice to be able to "check in" on some schedule. It's also not possible as far as I can tell to deploy when a compute reboots at the end user's convenience and not when we force a reboot. All told, these are minor inconveniences that in no way overshadow the total package.

### "PDQ Deploy review "

December 14, 2022

5.0

I used to have other patch management but switched to PDQ deploy few years back. I am satisfied so far.

Pros

I have PDQ deploy and PDQ inventory. both app are inteconnected and I can search and identify group of PCs and create a package in PDQ deploy to have them patch catch up. Also I have the packages using heart beat to catch up the patches on PC whenever they are online.

Cons

They are packages unavailable like the CAD tools, FOXIT enterprise version and I will like to see more packages available in the pre-configure option and thsi will make easier for me to download and make them a package for deploy.

### "Inventory management at it's best."

June 3, 2021

5.0

Having Inventory is wonderful. Being able to quickly gather data on new or existing PCs is crucial. The more recent addition of the Powershell scanner makes the product pretty much universal to do whatever you can think of for reporting.

Pros

The report writing is so much nicer than other options which typically require in-depth knowledge of SQL or other coding languages.

Cons

Adding a large amount of file and registry scanners when scanning 5000+ devices has caused some issues with the database growing too large leading to performance issues and/or memory leaks.

Reason for choosing PDQ Deploy & Inventory

The report writing alone is well worth the cost of buying this product in addition to anything else. Being able to build pretty much any report you can think of in a matter of seconds is just simply amazing. Deploy is wonderful but I would highly recommend at least getting Inventory. The two products working together is just that much better.

### "PDQ Deploy"

August 12, 2022

5.0

This product was recommended by our security consultant, and we have been quite happy with it.

Pros

Server installation was straightforward. There is no client agent required. We use the product to install security software daily or weekly.

Cons

The license needs to be updated every year, otherwise, the package library does not work as expected.

### "PDQ Inventory and Deploy ROCKS!"

August 13, 2021

5.0

I've been using PDQ for about 5-6 years. For us, it's a life saver because until recently I have been the only IT on site. I just hired a admin and he's loving this software as well. Their support is top notch!! When I am stuck, I get a quick answer.

Pros

I highly like all the details collected for each servers and workstations and the ability to created dynamic collections that can integrate with Deploy.

Cons

Not that much. The only thing I can think of, ......ugh. Can't think of a thing right now :)

### "PDQ is amazing."

April 7, 2022

5.0

Pros

Number of options and flexibility of any PDQ product is amazing. Systems are super easy to deploy and work with. There is no better product on the market, and I've been tested multiple and still use some as addition to PDQ.

Cons

There is none, but it will be great if PDQ could work without having clients on VPN in the future. (And I think they are working on it)

### "IT Force Multiplier"

December 13, 2022

5.0

PDQ Deploy allows us to scale our desktop management exponentially, and is much easier to set up and use than SCCM (if you also have Inventory, which isjust as important as Deploy)

Pros

Rapid deployment of large software installations or configuration changes to hundreds of workstations in minutesExtremely detailed workstation informationt tracking with great filtering / collection optionsVery detailed and helpful documentation (videos/live streams are great)

Cons

Generating reports can be a bit confusing at times.Linux support in the future would be a huge plus if ever considered

### "Great for software deployment"

December 30, 2022

5.0

When SCCM failed, and the admin was unable to resolve issues. Local IT (global company) used PDQ for software deployment as the SCCM admin never got it working for a long time. PDQ simplify software deployment and updates, helped manage devices and setup new machines in no time at all. The main admin of PDQ became the SCCM admin after using this product as a learning curve and step to SCCM. Now SCCM is working with new admin, pdq is not required as much but still a tool I rely on regularly.

Pros

Simple to useFree edition is greatLicences are not expensive Can share xml files for software deployment between users on free versionGreat for deploying scripts

Cons

Cannot manage OS updatesOnly works on internal network/VPN - not cloud basedPdq inventory is a separate program, not integrated

Reason for choosing PDQ Deploy & Inventory

Was recommended, it worked and the free edition did 90% of our requirements

### "Absolute life-saver if you're an admin"

April 3, 2023

5.0

Deploying software, copying files, changing Windows settings, rebooting, those are all things I accomplish with PDQ that I would have to do one by one on each PC otherwise.

Pros

PDQ can do literally anything you can think of on Windows PCs you manage. Installing, copying files, executing Powershell, etc. I mean if you can execute Powershell remotely what is there you cannot do?

Cons

Honestly can't really think of anything I don't like about this software. It even has dark mode for ultimate eye comfort, so I cannot complain.
