Pros

Ability to build reports and search simply. The creative is up to date which is awesome. Also, the ability to view the print, digital, native and where they're spending dollars and when is so useful.

Cons

Many accounts do not have contacts- and when requests for contacts are sent sometimes they can not find anything. If they are a top spender in this space their profile should be complete.

Media contacts and snapshot of the advertiser's advertising history.

Pros

Our company specializes in international media. We target US companies that has budgets from the US but advertises international. We utilize MediaRadar to gain access to the media contacts and understand their advertiser's advertising history. So far MediaRadar has provide quite up to date on the active and major companies in the US. And it has helped us save the work and time from cold calling each company.

Cons

So far MediaRadar has all contacts and history of the US major brands that has been actively advertising. I wish it could include disruptor companies.

Pros

The extensive data base and the ease of use to search through it makes it easier to do research on potential clients

Cons

It isn't always easy to go back and forth between one account and another. You always have to start form the beginning. Hard to make comparisons without opening another browser window.

Cons

Sometimes the server goes down without notice. When you pull reports they are local and some publications are missed within the mix

For the start, I was really familiar with MR, when I moved over to a new company I wanted my team to have this as a tool. Reaching out from the start as a prospective client to actual implementation we were given the best service and educational information on evaluation. My team even evaluated other products IRT and honestly, the day-to-day service stood out from MR as the clear leader.

Pros

The software is easy to use and very nimble.

Cons

Fortunately, I don't really have one! I love the product.

My accounts are often missing contact info. I'm often unsure if spending information on an account is accurate or inflated.

Overall I am happy with Media radar. As I’ve gotten settled into my new sales role and busy with campaign work. I’ve had less time to prospect using media radar and as a result I find I am quickly forgetting how to use the primary features and reporting. So I sometimes feel a little lost when I’m on the site. But overall I am happy that I have access.

Pros

They offer a comprehensive coverage of US brands and their spending patterns. Good automated reporting options. Great customer support and responsiveness.

Cons

The cost for the service is very high - at least for my individual needs. Would prefer if there was a limited usage option for much less money. I don’t totally trust the specific spend numbers that are reported so I just use that directionally.

That it is up to date and it provides their emails when many sites do not.

Cons

I wish I could get a 2 for 1. Instead of providing me with information just on print, it would be TV/digital too.

Competitive information that helps to inform business decisions.

Pros

We love the prospecting reports and the market share reports. They are super helpful to our business and provide a lot of unique insight that is hard to find. The customer service team and the outreach team are also wonderful to work with!

Cons

The reports are not always accurate so we often feel we have to take the info with a grain of salt. For instance, sometimes we will see a few programmatics and barters pop up when we ran a report for "direct advertisers" only. Also, the monetary value that advertisers spent within our competitive set are not accurate numbers.

In our industry, it is sometimes tricky to identify divisions, causing some difficulties in assigning sales territories.

This is a fantastic tool to identify relevant people at relevant companies, and allows sales people to have both high level mass information, with the ability to drill down into very specific nuances regarding advertiser spend details.

Pros

This is a fantastic tool and team! It makes it super easy to identify spenders, media buying formats, copies of the media run, and best of all for sales team, accurate associated contact info for brands and agencies. Very well developed product.

Cons

The fact that the platform is closely segmented, and to have access to a different media type costs considerably more than the core selected product. The upsells are expensive. Also, lacking in publisher centric viewing, as its focus is largely advertiser and agency driven, leaving out a good chunk of the industry.

Reason for choosing MediaRadar

The price was reasonable, and the main item was the rolodex/contact info element.

The information provided by MediaRadar helps identify key prospects and the current activity of those prospects as well as tips for pitching programs to these companies.

Pros

The software is easy to use, responsive and moves quickly. I'm able to pull up Power Prospecting Reports that are comprehensive and assist when planning my sales trips during the year. It's helpful to see the ads that are featured in the competitor's magazines.

Cons

Sometimes I have trouble finding specific information for accounts. My company might want to consider paying for information about digital program as well as the print programs.

Contacts and meeting set up because of them.

Pros

Very easy to use as well as quick to find new contacts if the old our out of date. MediaRadar also worked with our team to set up trainings on current RFPs.

Cons

I can't say there is anything I don't like about it. Like I said before, if the contacts are wrong MediaRadar is quick to find a current one.

Really enjoy using the product for my sales role, great information to take to client meetings. A lot of the information can’t be found elsewhere, although it would be nice if it pulled in press articles about brands and their media strategy, creative, success, targets etc

Pros

Able to provide great data for researching brands. Helpful with showing the typical spends against mediums, contacts and also what creative they’ve been running to pull into presentations or help inform cold emails

Cons

I find it difficult to sort top brand spenders based on platform. Would also love if the agency contacts on campaigns were more robust.

Saves me time.

Pros

"Request a contact" button. I also like the insider tips box that gives tips on who the appropriate contacts are for specific categories.

Cons

Some accounts are not allowed to request a contact or some accounts have outdated contacts in them. Would be nice to have an accurate data but I understand that there must be a lot of accounts to deal with to keep track of updating contacts.

Allows me to get my product in front of the right people at the right time with the right message. And with much less leg-work.

Pros

Best software tool I've used and I've been in television advertising sales for 18 years. The ability to see who's spending what, on which channels and the creative being used is priceless. Allows me to prospect with ease - even provides the client and agency contact information. I've used other CRM tools in the past but there's no comparison.

Cons

I wouldn't change a thing. It's so simple to use.

Pros

Media Radar is great, the service is top notch and it's accurate the majority of the time. I really appreciate the ease of use and the accuracy.

Cons

The pricing model still makes no sense to me. When we signed on, one of the advantages they touted was that received unlimited seats. As a small publisher - I'm not sure why I need to pay for the same usage as say a company the size of the NY Times. We really only need 1-2 log ins (we only have 1 sales person currently). This is unfortunately a cost they may be prohibitive in our renewing.
