CRM's are a highly competitive industry. Markate is one of the top 3, in my opinion Pros Markate is a fantastic CRM for small service based businesses. We used it for my handyman company. Having organized data, notes, invoices and estimates is paramount to a handyman company. My favorite part about markate is the reports i could view on the health of my business. Cons I didn't like that each add on was an added cost each month. I wish there was the option to send mass emails or texts without an additional fee. Pros I love being able to keep all my customers info, make notes on their accounts, send estimates and quotes all from one app. Cons I would really like if I could send mass emails and texts without having to pay an additional fee. There are other options as well that require an upgrade fee. The backend management is quite nice and there are some nice features - if they work, that is. We haven't tried them, but now I don't have much confidence in the company's ability to design software now. And we can't wait for them to finally get around to address what they call an "inconvenience." The customer support rep was very nice. She tried, but there's not much she can do. These problems are now in the queue at Markate. By the time you read this, they may be fixed. Pros Backend management of jobs is excellent, invoicing, estimating, job management, all that is good. We especially like that we can put prices and a minimum purchase on the booking form. Other apps don't give you that ability. Cons Developers gave no consideration to mobile users with their booking form. It is not user friendly. If there is an error, you can't see it because the message is at the bottom of the form. So then if you make a mistake on the phone, and you have no idea what hit you. It just looks like a broken form. A user will probably leave at this point. To make matters worse, you can't add more of the same item to the cart because it will wipe out what you already have in the cart. No carts work like that! They add to, not wipe it out and then add a new item. You then try to check out, and again, you can't because you didn't meet the minimum, but you don't know why because there is no error message you can see. This is a minor problem. They have a field to enter a url to send users to after submitting the form. It doesn't work so we can't track conversions. Markate is too busy to fix any of these issues because "they are working on other projects." My clients was getting hardly any submissions for months, no doubt because of these usability problems as most visitors to the site are on phones. Cons It is a new app which always comes with some things that could be improved along the way. Wish this was available sooner.
