### "Worth consideration in your Network Automation journey."

April 16, 2026

4.0

Overall for just the NCM, the price you pay you do get a lot of features to help you automate your network infrastructure.

Pros

The price and the ease of use. The product has an easy to read GUI. Getting device backups and adding initial credentials is very easy so you can get up and running quickly. Support has been very helpful and are willing to spend the time to get what you need completed. Management of the network is quick and your data protection is taken seriously.

Cons

It uses it's own modified version of Java for it's configuration scripts. I wish that would be a more know language like python. Some of the navigation pages are a bit "glitchy". Like resizing a dashboard or a popup window will actually tail off the bottom of the page.

### "Excellent product that we have been using for at least a decade"

September 12, 2024

5.0

Helps to solve a variety of challenges related to managing network device configurations. One major benefit is how it reduces the risk of human error during configuration changes. By providing automated configuration backups, it allows us to quickly roll back to a previous version if a mistake occurs, minimizing downtime and avoiding potential issues. It’s also really useful for compliance management, ensuring that our devices meet both internal security policies and external regulatory standards. This helps maintain network security and ensures we stay compliant, which is crucial in our industry. The ability to track real-time configuration changes is another important feature, as it allows us to detect any unauthorized or unintended modifications immediately. This helps maintain better control over the network and boosts overall security. Lastly, the system supports a wide variety of devices from different vendors, making it much easier to manage a multi-vendor environment. This saves time and helps keep configurations consistent across the board. In summary, it's been beneficial in improving network stability, security, and efficiency, making network management more streamlined and less prone to errors.

Pros

A range of powerful features for network configuration management. It offers automated backup and restore, ensuring device configurations are safely backed up and can be restored quickly in case of errors or failures. The compliance management feature helps keep devices aligned with both regulatory standards and internal policies, making it easy to detect and fix non-compliance issues. Another standout feature is the ability to track real-time configuration changes, which is critical for identifying unauthorized or accidental changes as they happen. The platform also supports multi-vendor environments, so it works seamlessly with a variety of network devices from different manufacturers. On top of that, role-based access control enhances security by restricting who can make changes, while the user-friendly interface makes it easy for both new and experienced users to operate the system without steep learning curves. All these features combined make it a reliable and efficient solution for managing network configurations across diverse infrastructures.

Cons

One aspect that could be improved is the user interface. While it’s functional and offers a lot of features, it can sometimes feel cluttered and a bit overwhelming for those who are new to the platform. It takes some time to get familiar with all the options and navigate efficiently. The initial setup can also be quite complex, especially in larger environments with multiple devices. Integrating it into an existing network might require more time and technical know-how than you might expect. Lastly, while the tool supports a wide range of devices, there can occasionally be compatibility issues with less common or newer hardware, requiring more manual configuration or waiting for updates.

### "Reliable monitoring application"

April 9, 2026

5.0

Pros

Simple to use there is very little time needed in knowing the product to get started, value for the money. Almost, I haven't seen a defect in the product to call the customer support.

Cons

We attempting to login into NCM using 2MFA from chrome browser, cache or cookies saves the previous passcode. I get passcode validation failure. It would be a easier to use instead of entering the passcode from 2MFA during login, DuO accepts a push notification from the user.

### "Helped preserve configuration consistency across the infrastructure"

April 22, 2025

4.0

Pros

Using ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager, I was able to easily identify configuration deviations on the network devices. I always get notifications whenever device configurations go off the normal standard hence am able to attend to them before they cause service interferences.

Cons

Some baseline comparison reports do not, nonetheless, capture slight syntactical variations, especially in sets of custom commands. This has been achieved by hand analyses to identify mere mistakes with more pronounced effects on the results.

### "Centralized method has centralized our network operations"

April 22, 2025

4.0

Pros

Managing number of configurations across multiple devices with different vendors can be quite strenuous exercise which is not a problem as far as NCM is involved. It is compatible with more than 200 vendors, and this means that the management is also easily doable.

Cons

Some of the devices require intervention for optimization which can take a lot of time. Quite clearly, there are some overlaps, and if the few areas of conflict are worked out, then this feature would be very useful.

Pros

Compliance Auditing features of the ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager assist the company in achieving network compliance. It has become easier for us to define policies for every function and then check for compliance with the set standards.

### "Useful in enhancing the configuration hygiene of my team"

April 14, 2025

5.0

Pros

I like the way the role-based access control has that means you can grant permission depending on the particular technician. This allows junior admins to conduct only read-only audits most of the time and restrict write-only actions to core team members.

Cons

It often does not automatically start all the services affected by the configuration change by default. I have to log into the device in order to bring the services up after restore, which is time consuming especially when working on emergency backups or rollback plans.

### "Offered useful configuration backup for multi-vendor networks"

April 11, 2025

4.0

I believe that using Network Configuration Manager has made it easier for me in the aspect of compliance and change management. I do not use paper logs or have scripts, which are different from one another.

Pros

I have liked the automatic configuration backup functionality in particular when comparing between different device vendors. It also recognizes changes on the go, stores configurations, and retains historical data; ensuring that I never lose configurations on my devices after updates or manual interjections.

Cons

There was irregularity when it comes to alerting in regards to particular edge routers. At times, the alerts are not fired instantly, thereby delaying the action on unauthorized changes or anomalous behavior in the remote branch devices.

Pros

With the help of ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager we could set up specific rules and policies and make sure all the configurations were up to the mark. It not only helped in rationalizing the compliance processes but also ensured compliance satisfaction.

### "Assist me in monitoring my switches more Intensely"

April 9, 2025

4.0

Pros

I liked the real-time change notifications of the configuration that were helpful when dealing with a lot of different settings. They immediately notify me when the settings of the device have been changed to something else and this can be most helpful.

Cons

Once in a while, it stops identifying new models of the firmwares in our network through the firmware vulnerability scan. This has the disadvantage of not being effective in identifying security threats for non-standard hardware.

excellent support easy to use works very well i would prefer if keep automatically the last 3 versions of any config file also when adding a device manually i prefer to see in live what happens in the device as cli response. if syslog port is used by another app, i refer to see an error indicating that syslog port is already used.

Pros

easy gui, possibility to edit scripts, very good support

Pros

The Network Configuration Manager is the feature that suits me most due to the its ability to define configurations as well as enforce and auto audit against it. I also have scheduled jobs that apply our VLAN specifications, SNMP configurations, and SSH parameters on all the edge router.

Cons

What is missing is the related script’s context when the commands were only partly executed. Once I had performed a bulk change job and I had no way of knowing which devices had been affected because a number of the exit codes were ambiguous.

### "Implementing real-time monitoring for revising our network security"

April 21, 2025

4.0

Pros

There are number of outstanding features in ManageEngine network configuration manager like real time configuration tracking. It effectively helps me to receive immediate notifications of the changes to revert to the unauthorized modifications and secure the integrity of our network.

Cons

It is important to note that the alert system occasionally causes false positives whenever a specific time range is chosen for server maintenance. It yields alert fatigue thus there is the possibility of missing real problems.
