### "Worth consideration in your Network Automation journey."

April 16, 2026

4.0

Overall for just the NCM, the price you pay you do get a lot of features to help you automate your network infrastructure.

Pros

The price and the ease of use. The product has an easy to read GUI. Getting device backups and adding initial credentials is very easy so you can get up and running quickly. Support has been very helpful and are willing to spend the time to get what you need completed. Management of the network is quick and your data protection is taken seriously.

Cons

It uses it's own modified version of Java for it's configuration scripts. I wish that would be a more know language like python. Some of the navigation pages are a bit "glitchy". Like resizing a dashboard or a popup window will actually tail off the bottom of the page.

In terms of config back-up and configlets it has done fantastic job whereas in terms of compliance and vulnerabilities it is not up to the mark.

Pros

Config back-up set up is the most liked feature in the application

Cons

Since there is the compliance report in the tool it should give the report for all the devices which are on-boarded to tool. In my case it was unable to give the compliance report for the HP Aruba devices

### "Best bang for the buck!"

June 4, 2026

5.0

I am more of a user but it is pretty feature full and the price is great. I have been told support is great. There is a live chat in the web UI....great for a quick question! Way faster than opening a ticket.

Pros

Value for the money, snmp walking the network, series and model of device displayed, diffs of configs

Cons

Would like to see: auto grouping for devices, default alarm examples, exclude examples for configs (Ie. easy way to skip time stamp at top of config), Customize/add columns in search output \[when doing an advanced search of configs the device is only shown by IP (you have to click on the IP to get the device hostname and I want to see hostname at initial search)\]

### "Reliable Tool for Network Compliance and Configuration Management"

February 12, 2026

5.0

Overall, it is very easy to use, customer service is very quick responsive. It is also a cost-effective tool especially for organizations needing compliance and audit trails.

Pros

The most part is like is the automatic configuration back up. Secondly, you do not need to enter login credentials repeatedly for any device. It automatically applies credentials from the credential profile, which saves time.

Cons

Sometimes there is scalability issue. In very large environments where there are thousands of devices, performance can lag. Sometimes reports generation is little complex.

### "Reliable Solution for Network Configuration Backup and Change Management"

June 3, 2026

4.0

We use to manage network device configurations, automate backups, and track configuration changes across our environment. The solution has helped improve operational efficiency by reducing manual administrative tasks and providing better visibility into network changes. Features such as automated backups, configuration comparison, compliance monitoring, and audit trails have been particularly valuable. While there is room for improvement in the user interface and reporting flexibility, the product delivers good value and has been a reliable part of our network management operations.

Pros

provides centralized management for network device configurations and significantly reduces manual effort through automated backups and change tracking. The version comparison and configuration restore capabilities are very useful during troubleshooting and audit activities. The compliance monitoring and reporting features also help maintain better control over network infrastructure.

Cons

The user interface could be more modern and intuitive, especially for first-time users. Some reports and dashboard customizations require additional configuration to meet specific business requirements. The initial setup and policy configuration may take some time in larger environments, but once configured, the product performs reliably.

Overall, using the has been a positive experience, especially with the ease of initial setup.

Pros

The is especially helpful for getting quick, at-a-glance visuals on backup statuses, backup alerts, and an overall easy to grasp UI.

Cons

A personal nitpick I have of the Manage Engine Network Configuration Manager, is having the SSH option tucked under a Tools menu. Many times I find myself just wanting to start an SSH session directly from the device summary, and not having to navigate to a completely separate menu.

### "Held up as a reliable defense against config chaos"

April 17, 2025

4.0

Pros

With the help of Network Configuration Manager I have configured in my organization, I am immediately notified when a certain config has been changed by anyone else, thus reducing future improper changes. The feature to revert back to the last working state without much ado has worked well for me whenever there were downtimes.

Cons

There are some lags if they are set for multiple devices at the same time. It does not coincide with the maintenance hours and as a result I have to schedule some backups separately to prevent interference with other activities.

### "Established reliable means of enhancing the network’s security"

April 7, 2025

4.0

Pros

During accidental overwrites, the planned backup for the system configuration was useful. The rollback option was effective in smoothly reverting back the devices to its healthier state and the violation dashboard was useful in tracking policy violations.

Cons

Mastering the alert system, I received messages with minor changes in my inbox from time to time. The first time it is necessary to configure the program to remove all unnecessary notification messages.

### "Became an essential part of my configuration workflow"

April 20, 2025

4.0

Pros

I used the real-time configuration comparison to discover a routing disparity across the redundant routers, that. This side-by-side view presented some entries that were disparate and would not be as obvious by looking at other outputs that come directly from the CLI.

Cons

The usage of firmware vulnerability detection is beneficial as a service, but there is no automation of remediation steps. It allows me to know when some versions are vulnerable, but I need to search for the patches by myself.

Network Configuration Manager real time change alerts have been very helpful in identifying changes. It makes it easy to contain emergent concerns that if not acted on instantly may lead to devastating outcomes. It helps to reduce the response time while working in this feature.

### "Real-time alerts allow me to proactively prevent configuration drift"

April 16, 2025

4.0

Pros

I appreciate the automatic configuration backup system. Network Configuration Manager provides me with an understanding that switch and router configurations are current and backed up correctly. I also have a good experience in compliance audit policies that are derived from regulations in the real industry.

Cons

The reporting section can be made more flexible while using filters based on custom periods of time. At some point I required daily views for a month and instead of producing them inside the application I had to make them through the help of other programs.

### "Useful in enhancing the configuration hygiene of my team"

April 14, 2025

5.0

Pros

I like the way the role-based access control has that means you can grant permission depending on the particular technician. This allows junior admins to conduct only read-only audits most of the time and restrict write-only actions to core team members.

Cons

It often does not automatically start all the services affected by the configuration change by default. I have to log into the device in order to bring the services up after restore, which is time consuming especially when working on emergency backups or rollback plans.

### "Assisted me in conducting internal audits more efficiently"

April 18, 2025

4.0

Pros

The aspects of ManageEngine that I found most beneficial are the custom rule and the policy in the Network Configuration Manager. I relieved subpar copy quality by developing templates in accordance to intra and extra-legal regulation and the violation check was also done automatically.

Cons

Getting compliance reports of particular devices over time and at granular level takes more steps. While available, extracting the data into a report format requires time and at times, other tools to make the data presentable in a client interface.

### "Reduced chances of downtimes and increased network performance"

April 5, 2025

5.0

Pros

I found an automated configuration backup beneficial as it saves a user the time needed to make the backup manually. This made a point of ensuring that all configurations of the devices were well stored to avoid losses in case of eventualities.

Cons

While using the program I observed that the measures being taken for the detection of the firmware vulnerabilities impacted only some of the vendors. Some of them are missing the means to broaden the applied devices to raise the efficiency of the tool.

### "Helped standardize all device configurations across multiple branches"

April 16, 2025

4.0

Pros

Network Configuration Manager enables me to enter rules according to the internal security standards and then makes conduct an audit that would point out the violations. I have also created autoremediation scripts that run on locking violation of the specified rules.

Cons

The syslog based tracking has issues with duplicating alerts when it is used when there are nested changes. This required a little optimization not to get several alerts for a single update event, which populated my notification list.

### "Proactive in configuration management and compliance audits"

April 4, 2025

Pros

The auto backup functionality of made it possible to ensure that the devices’ configurations were backed up systematically for use in emergency cases. This functionality was very important in ensuring that the operations went on undisrupted.

Cons

I faced challenges of compatibility with some hardware enabled devices in the process of implementation and required constant override. Extension of support for older hardware would also increase the practical usability factor of the tool.

Pros

I like the aspect of change tracking in real-time better of this software. It enables me to track the changes that are made to the configurations in real time hence making it easier for me to counter any changes that are made by unauthorized personnel making it more secure for the network.

Cons

Pros

Centralization of devices simplifies the management of the network and ensures that there is easy access to relevant details of the devices in the network. It has also increased efficiency because all activities relating to that area are now coordinated in one point.

Cons

April 7, 2025

5.0

Pros

I found it quite beneficial that allowed me to set actual custom compliance policies for devices. The disclosure of misconfiguration in real-time supported rapid detection of misconfigurations that would cause outages.

Cons

### "Easy network and automatic backup capability"

March 21, 2025

4.0

Pros

Using it has been quite easy to have automatic backup for our network. It has the capability to manage all device settings adopting consistent settings saving and providing safety and convenience for quick restore if necessary.

Cons

Some of the equipment is not fully supported hence backup and monitoring are also not complete. This causes the need for more manual inputs to handle such devices whereby the general efficiency is slightly reduced.

### "Supported me to normalize all our configuration processes"

April 18, 2025

4.0

Pros

I have found the ability to receive real-time alerts about changes that are made in the network from the Network Configuration Manager really helpful. I get notification on any changes made on firewalls or routers which has helped to curb so many cases.

Cons

I have observed flickering with CLI commands at specific switches especially the once older ones like Cisco and Fortinet. In some instances, it was done manually because of the need to re-execute the batch job with additional parameters.
