I am more of a user but it is pretty feature full and the price is great. I have been told support is great. There is a live chat in the web UI....great for a quick question! Way faster than opening a ticket.

Pros

Value for the money, snmp walking the network, series and model of device displayed, diffs of configs

Cons

Would like to see: auto grouping for devices, default alarm examples, exclude examples for configs (Ie. easy way to skip time stamp at top of config), Customize/add columns in search output \[when doing an advanced search of configs the device is only shown by IP (you have to click on the IP to get the device hostname and I want to see hostname at initial search)\]

We use ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager to manage network device configurations, automate backups, and track configuration changes across our environment. The solution has helped improve operational efficiency by reducing manual administrative tasks and providing better visibility into network changes. Features such as automated backups, configuration comparison, compliance monitoring, and audit trails have been particularly valuable. While there is room for improvement in the user interface and reporting flexibility, the product delivers good value and has been a reliable part of our network management operations.

Pros

ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager provides centralized management for network device configurations and significantly reduces manual effort through automated backups and change tracking. The version comparison and configuration restore capabilities are very useful during troubleshooting and audit activities. The compliance monitoring and reporting features also help maintain better control over network infrastructure.

Cons

The user interface could be more modern and intuitive, especially for first-time users. Some reports and dashboard customizations require additional configuration to meet specific business requirements. The initial setup and policy configuration may take some time in larger environments, but once configured, the product performs reliably.

Overall, using the ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager has been a positive experience, especially with the ease of initial setup.

Pros

The ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager is especially helpful for getting quick, at-a-glance visuals on backup statuses, backup alerts, and an overall easy to grasp UI.

Cons

A personal nitpick I have of the Manage Engine Network Configuration Manager, is having the SSH option tucked under a Tools menu. Many times I find myself just wanting to start an SSH session directly from the device summary, and not having to navigate to a completely separate menu.

Overall for just the NCM, the price you pay you do get a lot of features to help you automate your network infrastructure.

Pros

The price and the ease of use. The product has an easy to read GUI. Getting device backups and adding initial credentials is very easy so you can get up and running quickly. Support has been very helpful and are willing to spend the time to get what you need completed. Management of the network is quick and your data protection is taken seriously.

Cons

It uses it's own modified version of Java for it's configuration scripts. I wish that would be a more know language like python. Some of the navigation pages are a bit "glitchy". Like resizing a dashboard or a popup window will actually tail off the bottom of the page.

Cons

We attempting to login into NCM using 2MFA from chrome browser, cache or cookies saves the previous passcode. I get passcode validation failure. It would be a easier to use instead of entering the passcode from 2MFA during login, DuO accepts a push notification from the user.
