Cons

Setting up the security settings at first is a bit much, however you have much ability to limit what each member of your team has access to. Once you get passed the first step it is awesome!

We converted to Meevo in November 2022, over a very shortened installation timeframe. The support staff was amazing, helpful and worked hard to meet our short timeframe. Meevo is forthcoming about updates, and typically meets our needs.

Pros

Meevo is easy to use, very intuitive, and has great customer service. The training modules are helpful when we onboard new employees. Schedule is simple to navigate and understand. The ability to set up different security options for a variety of employees is unique and helps us to allow everyone to have access to only the information that is needed to do their jobs. The integration to MeevoPay was easy and seamless.

Cons

Although there are many, many reports to use, I find that sometimes I have to run 2 or 3 and manually combine them to generate the information that I need. Also, limiting reports to a one year period of time, is a hinderance when trying to gather some valuable information. It would be great if my timeframe could be expanded beyond a 12 month period of time. Also, in security settings (which is a great feature), it is difficult to navigate, and sometimes doesn't work properly (ie, I hide a feature, but employees in that group do not have it hidden, as in hiding actual punch in / punch outs).

We upgraded to Booker V. 2 and it was a disaster! Unable to process credit cards, ring out clients, and it was constantly crashing. This was in late October, which begins our most important quarter. Meevo worked directly with us and made the migration happen in a very short timeframe! The support was outstanding.

I have worked with Hairmax, Booker and Vagaro, and Meevo is by far the least user friendly and messiest looking program.

Pros

It is easy to log in , cancel an appointment and some of the reports are good. The smart screen is helpful allowing easy access to the different screens.

Cons

Not user friendly; graphics are terrible colors and hard to read; unnecessary amount of clicks to do anything; should have a thin time line going across the active appts instead of thick green line at ends; no ability to set up appts for multiple days for a client with one transaction; it would be helpful to have a window pop up when booking or canceling an appt to tell you what future appts client has. I could go on and on. No ability to chat back and forth with a client.

Overall the experience was just alright. Simple to use, would be helpful growing your business. But the cost kept me away.

Pros

Online booking and appointment management features were easy to use. Meevo had a lot of other good features including the membership program.

Cons

I do believe the value for the cost was too high. There are similar programs at a much lower cost. Customer support can be hard to get ahold of.

I like what I use it for. I don’t know if I would continue to use if I couldn’t pay for it with my \[sensitive content hidden\] points as I think it’s too expensive for what I use. I also wish I would get a detailed bill & be able to check my credit balance more easily.

Pros

Having my Register, client cards & appointment book all in one place. The reminder system is easy to use.

Cons

Some applications are too complicated, some parts can be confusing to use, there are so many bells & whistles that sometimes the things that are basic operations get hard to find.

I love how many applications are available. Makes everything easy. I cannot think of anything that isn’t part of the system. It truly allows you to do so many different things, and is pretty user friendly.

Pros

Love their customer service!! I haven’t had an issue yet that they couldn’t help me through. It is fairly easy to find whatever you are looking for, and did I say I LOVE their customer support.

Cons

When toggling between windows, I get kicked off Meevo fast, and some of the help tips are a bit confusing.

Working with Meevo to set up our salon was a great experience and even though I had already been a Meevo user I learned a lot! I can't say enough nice things about the people who helped us. My staff is thrilled with the functionality of the service.

Pros

Meevo has the best customer service I have ever experienced and the level of customization that you can do is exceptional. The reports that you can run to keep track of what is going on in your business are wonderful and the experience on the client side is easy to use.

Cons

Meevo is not the least expensive option when it come to salon software. That doesn't bother me because of everything you get for the money.

### "Meevo is an outstanding single or multi-location salon management tool"

We've been with Meevo since January 2020 and it's predecessor, Millennium, since 2010 to run our multiple locations. Meevo makes it easy to transfer and redeem gift cards and packages across multiple salon locations and allows clients to be viewed and managed globally while maintaining appropriate flexibility at each location. We enjoy the enterprise level inventory and service management features and consolidated reporting. We can't imagine running our multiple locations without Meevo!

Pros

Meevo is powerful and easy to use. The interface is fast, intuitive, and works brilliantly on handhelds, tablets, and desktop. Reports and analytics are strong so we can keep tabs on our KPIs. Client settings are granular so which notifications clients receive via email and texting can be customized. The payroll and inventory modules are well developed and give us great flexibility in our employee compensation settings and Meevo even has custom reports to help California employers comply with labor laws unique to that state. Support is U.S. based and outstanding. Meevo really listens to their customers and rolls out updates on a very regular basis. While the software is already great, it gets even more powerful every couple of months. In fact some of the cons in my review below will probably be addressed within the next year. Security in Meevo is extremely granular, which we appreciate so staff members can be configured to only have access to areas of the system appropriate to their role. There are settings to completely hide menus and areas of the system that certain users don't need to see so their interface isn't cluttered with buttons they wouldn't be allowed to use. Meevo also supports a different (typically stricter) set of access limitations when staff are outside of the company's network. Lastly, Meevo makes it easy to multi-task with tabs for multiple parts of the system open at the same time and easy to move between. Meevo has built in a large number of keyboard shortcuts and has a "ConvoBar®" that allows users to type commands to quickly open specific screens or reports. We're starting to see the adoption of AI within recent Meevo updates and I'm sure this area of the system will become substantial over the coming few years.

Cons

Editing transactions in the past is extremely limited, which protects naive owners from breaking accounting rules, but prevents sophisticated owners from fixing mistakes in the past and instead having to create new transactions to reverse out the prior mistakes. I wish there was a super user setting that allowed more flexibility. We also find the double opt-in requirement for clients to receive transactional text messages to be far more strict than any other similar software we've seen. The Quickbooks integration does not handle multiple business locations syncing into a single Quickbooks file, which is limiting for multi-location businesses with a single set of integrated books. Great reports make it easy to settle the books via consolidated journal entries, but I look forward to true multi-location syncing with Quickbooks.

Excellent support and training for the entire staff. At any moment we can chat or call for assistance, as well as the incredible online resource Meevo “help” which I use almost daily for clarification. There are many webinars and o going trainings that also provide additional learning opportunities as we grow our knowledge of the system. We are very impressed overall and happy with our transition.

Pros

Bottom line, Meevo provides a fully customizable software that is dependable for the needs of our growing Medical spa and salon. As a 30 year old business that has changed for a salon to a high level spa, we needed a dependable and intelligent booking and reporting system that would give us everything and more. Meevo has some quirks, but overall our transition and training was smooth and seamless with a few exceptions.

Cons

Transitioning from our past software (Phorest), we lost all guest service history. This has been a challenge, however six months into our transition we have adapted. Gift cards also became a large concern as many transferred under “anonymous” instead of the guest name, causing us to have to rely on stored PDF form to look up many that are not located easily under guest profiles.

Reason for choosing Meevo

We were Salon Biz users for over 10 years. Once they required a transition into their new “Central” integration, there were so many ongoing issues we were forced to work with something new. Phorest was their first Transition out of Salon Biz Central.

My experience has been the best of the best. Starting with on boarding, training and education and whatever I might have need in the future.

Pros

Meevo2 was a great fit for me being that I worked for myself. It has a great price point for a single user too. Meevo2 grows with you as your needs change over time. They have unparalleled United States phone support. And yes, it’s very easy to speak to them.

Cons

I’m a tech first kind of person so, I love setting up this software in its entirety. I can see that this could be challenging for those of us who are not as tech friendly.

I LOVE MEEVO! Everything about it from scheduling, to booking, to payroll, to reports are just amazing.

Pros

Honestly there is nothing that I don't love about Meevo! I used it at a previous facility I managed and it was a no brainer to bring in when we were looking for a new platform to use at my latest job.

Cons

That somehow clients often get confused when doing online booking and book multiple services for themselves when trying to book for a group. Then because we require a deposit for online booking it can be a challenge getting that deposit to apply to the correct appointment once the servicing guest has been corrected.

I have worked with millennium/ meevo for over 20 years now. meevo is great and well constructed above many other salon/spa softwares out there.

Pros

the reporting is great to really see what's happening daily in company. smart centers are great for coaching and goal setting. meevo is always open to make changes and add new functions for the changes in industry.

Cons

some reports are too broad and not always detailed enough but there have been some new changes that are nice. once a new idea is implemented it takes so long for it to go live.

We love that Meevo is a one stop shop! Meevo, covers just about every area of your business from clients, services, inventory, revenue reporting, marketing and so much more! We love that they partner with other vendors to enhance their platform as well as ours.

Cons

There are a few areas with-in Meevo that need improvement, but the list is relatively small compared to what the over-all POS can do. The reporting and inventory are the two areas that could use improvement. I feel that it would be helpful to hear from the users in order to enhance both reports and inventory.

I love the actual appointment book. If they made a few small improvements I think it would be the very best system available. Improvements such as allowing for a surprise service to be booked without a notification to blow the surprise would be amazing.

Pros

Incredible customer service and support. Innovative and aware of ideas for software improvements.

Cons

Integration from Millennium to Meevo was horrible but I think I started using the system at a bad time. Now I think it would be a great time to have Meevo 2.

Because I had been using Millennium for 20 years prior to the switch, I felt it would make a transition to a cloud-based system better by sticking with the same development company.

I have been with Meevo since the launch of Meevo 2 and with Millennium before that- the company doesn't settle for just ok, they constantly listen to their users to make improvements that are requested.

Pros

A detailed POS system is amazing for a business ess but when you have support staff, sales staff, and \[sensitive content hidden\] who responsive and honestly cares about your business succeeding is the extra push an owner/manager enjoys!

Cons

That I don't have enough time in my day to use all the reports Meevo offers!

Pros

I like that Meevo 2 is easy to learn and use. I feel like most of the training videos are not needed and just simply playing with the site helps learn most of the functions. The reminders and confirmation system is great and I like that you can choose what you want to send based on your clients preferences.

Cons

\-When a clients wants to cancel there should be a function that sends the stylist an email or texts the the client wants to cancel. You shouldn't have to check the main page everyday. -The no show fee system should be tweaked and instead of leaving a credit on the clients account there should be a way to leave a negative amount showing that they need to pay a fee. Also, i'm not sure if this is a function but if it isn't then when clients book online there should be a mandatory setting that makes clients leave there credit card on file so you can charge the card if the clients never decides to come back. -The note section is kind of a mess. I haven't been able to find out how to read a full note if a client books online and sends one to the stylist. I feel like the system should also send an email if someone leaves a note that way they see it before the day of the clients appointment. -When booking online the system only searches 2 weeks out when clients select "search of next available service". This needs to either be reworded or actually search for the next available. Most high volume salons, like mine book months in advance so 2 weeks is kind of pointless and is confusing for the client. -The system should also allow for more time before it logs you out. Right now the max time is 1 hour. Most haircuts are 1 hour and if the salon doesn't have a receptionist then it becomes time consuming to have to log back in every time.

I have to say the support team is always so accommodating and very pleasant when we need assistance. I have no resistance when calling.

Pros

Support is on key and so knowledgeable, patient and solution oriented.

Cons

There really is nothing that I can list at the moment.
