Pros

I enjoy that it is free. This gives us the flexibility to put our limited finances towards other things.

Cons

Unfortunately, the current features that Givebutter has does not quite fit. We have to use it in unconventional ways.

Pros

Givebutter has made it so easy to create, edit, and share campaigns. The technology is so user-friendly, which makes engaging with diverse audiences a piece of cake. Requiring fees and giving donors so many payment-type options are small but extremely valuable features, saving and making us thousands of dollars with our first few events. Looking forward, I am excited to explore many more of the app integrations. I could go on and on...

Cons

I think some customization features (e.g. customized thank you emails for each "ticket type") are missing, which hinders my specific priorities; however, Givebutter's roadmap and ability to upvote features have been great ways to share my wants. Also, having to pay an additional fee to Zapier to connect to Salesforce is a big pain point for my leadership. Other platforms like Givebutter, though not at all on the Givebutter level, connect without an additional cost.

### "Smart, Turnkey Platform for Fundraising"

We launched our Givebutter right before our biggest annual fundraiser. I was a bit nervous taking on a brand new platform at a time when there was very little room for error. I was able to teach myself most everything and then the support chat feature was a life saver for getting me over the finish line. I'm very grateful for this platform and can't wait to grow with it this year!

My overall experience with Givebutter has been excellent. The platform is incredibly user-friendly, and its campaign management tools make organizing and tracking donations easy. ### "Don't use Givebutter! "

Please read above. It has been exceptionally dissapointing.

Pros

The interface of the event website is really great. Our constituents like it and we've got great feedback that it looks nice and was easy to use

Cons

There are so many ways this didn't work for us. We signed up for the hybrid auction/event capabilities, and that it was free. However there are so many glitches that come up. For instance, in creating our ticket options for sales, we created a Ticket Bundle- 8 tickets for a discount. However, when someone makes that purchase they didn't create any way (we've reached out about it several times...) for this purchase to verify 8 attendees; it registers as 1 attendee. So we can't use their check in system built into the ticket sales because it's not accounting for multiple people! SO WE'VE HAD TO CREATE AN RSVP SPREADSHEET, a total nightmare, and transfer all rsvps via the website to the spreadsheet to account for actual bodies/attendees. Additionally, as I mentioned before, I chose this platform for the Hybrid/online auction capabilities. However this also became a nightmare to deal with. There is no way for a ticket sale to assign a bid number automatically. So if guests want to bid, they have to sign up ADDITIONALLY ON THEIR OWN for a givebutter account, register their cc information, verify that through their personal email, then re-login to Givebutter to bid. This is THE BIGGEST BARRIER TO GIVING! We are now not even doing an online auction. Can you imagine going to an event, being told you have to login to a site, create an account, enter your cc info, check your email then log back into the site to bid? Would you even try?? Also we were told our transfer would be seamless with recurring/monthly donor plans because we already had a Stripe account and that's what Givebutter uses. We were obviously thrilled we could switch platforms and not have any interruption with our donors! However they use Stripe Express, which is actually DIFFERENT than a regular Stripe account. So if you're already using a Stripe account you'll have to get ANOTHER Stripe Express account that doesn't include important information about your constituents you already have in Stripe, like their customer ID numbers, cc info and more. Also- we were going to move our CRM over. They said their support team would be really helpful in this regard, that we would have unlimited email tech support. However they have no sample CRM to look at or try. YOU HAVE TO BUILD OUT YOUR OWN CRM, taking any and every field from a platform you already use and create an excel etc that includes every field and somehow they will help you build your own platform. Their tech support for this was nowhere near what we needed in order to complete let alone start this. They basically point you to different videos they have so you can learn to code etc yourself. Do not recommend based on current experience. I know they are always looking for recommendations to get better but the above seem pretty basic to include for auctions/events to offer this service. We are having to DOUBLE our platforms and efforts to get through this event since we launched it and learned later how incapable it was of handling basic event needs. Don't make the same mistake we did.

Givebutter is very user friendly, but when we have needed support, the Givebutter customer service/technical support people are always very helpful and available.

Pros

I've had experience with different donor databases before, and Givebutter is BY far the best one I've worked with. First of all, you can't beat the price, but beyond that, their CMS speaks to different platforms, such as QuickBooks and other platforms we use.

We've been using Givebutter for nearly a year now and have no complaints.

### "Some food for thought and a happy user"

I love that the platform allows me to sell tickets, fundraise, and manage donors. My donors did not like the prompts to tip and pay fees. I ended up mostly turning those off to avoid complaints. Overall, it's a great platform!

Pros

That it is both a ticket sales and donor management platform.

Cons

I would like to see better development of the platform for donor management. It was not easy to see how to address a thank you letter to a household when entering new constituents. Maybe you have a recorded training about this that I could learn from. We have been using Little Green Light for donor management. They have more capacity for tracking and connecting constituents that I would like to see developed in GiveButter (or that I need to better understand in GibeButter). Secondly, I was disappointed that there was not a clear way to mark ticket sales as separate from donations. I found that if I set a goal for fundraising, the ticket sales and donations both were counted towards the goal. However, the ticket sales were not a donation and should not have gone towards the goal. Because the platform did not allow me to separate them, I had to stop showing the fundraising goal bar.

It was great, once i got the hang of it, everything went smooth

Pros

I really liked how easy this platform was to use. The interface was clean, modern, and very intuitive. Everything was laid out in a way that made sense, and I was able to navigate without any confusion. Great experience overall!

Cons

While the platform has some great features, I found that it came with a bit of a learning curve. It took me some time to figure out how everything works, and I think the user experience could be more beginner-friendly.

### "MAJOR TICKETING PROBLEM"

Great, except for the major issue I explained above that is really causing problems. If it is not fixed, we will be forced to use a separate ticketing platform.

Pros

The user interface, simplicity of organizing fundraising campaigns, and cost of use is fantastic.

Cons

MAJOR PROBLEM: When people buy tickets, they are forced to fill out their information twice. Once when filling their information in on their ticket, and again when filling in their contact information. People don't like doing it twice, it wastes their time, and appears unprofessional. This is absolutely unacceptable and cost us several ticket sales during our last campaign. To be honest, we might be forced to use a different ticketing platform for future events unless you can fix this. It can be fixed either by making each ticket holder a new contact and sending tickets separately, or by auto filling the information from ticket 1.

### "Great suite of easy to use features - with some caveats"

Pros

I have loved the easy setup, the easy access to in person support, and how much is included in the free version - especially the ability to create different types of campaigns, make different fund selections available, and add custom fields to our donor database.

Cons

The two biggest issues we have had are these: 1. the \*optional\* fees to our donors do not always appear optional and require several clicks to remove - we eventually elected to pay a fee for GiveButter in order to remove the fee suggestion to our donors who were growing offput. - And 2. I was surprised and disappointed that GiveButter does not have the ability to "soft credit" a donor who gives through some type of investment account, which is a common way for many people to give. This has complicated things for us significantly.

GAME CHANGER!! 🎉 We've been searching for a platform that truly works for both our team and our donors, and GiveButter hit it out of the park! Not only is it incredibly user-friendly on our end, but more importantly, it's a breeze for our donors. I’ve had so many donors reach out to share how easy the donation process was for them, and they loved how simple it was to edit their gifts. GiveButter has truly transformed how we manage donations—making it smooth, seamless, and stress-free for everyone involved. 🥳

Pros

If you're looking for a fundraising platform that's user-friendly, even for those of us who aren't super tech-savvy, GiveButter is a fantastic choice! Setting up pages was a breeze, and I was pleasantly surprised by how intuitive the entire process was. Plus, the GiveButter support team is absolutely top-notch—responsive, helpful, and always there when you need them. GiveButter Bootcamp was amazing and changed the game for our Justice Day campaign. GiveButter was just the platform I was seeking to help grow our online annual fund campaign.

Cons

While GiveButter is generally user-friendly and intuitive, I have encountered some challenges with syncing donations through Zapier into Little Green Light. This particular aspect isn't as seamless as the rest of the platform, and I'm still struggling to figure this out.

Pros

It is very easy to navigate through the different options and set up any campaign.

### "Top tier platform"

The training videos and support articles give me more than I need to be confident in Givebutter.

Pros

The level of support is top notch! They are always soliciting ways to help and genuinely want to see our org be successful.

Cons

The CRM side for organizations and business contacts is lacking. We have a workaround for now, but I am looking forward to the roll out of this new feature.

We are very pleased with all of the be if it's we get with Givebutter plus.

Pros

I really appreciate how user friendly it is for our donors

Cons

When the donation is received even though the individual information is collected, once it transferred to my bank as one amount that has to be corrected in Quick Books.

### "Easy to Learn!"

It has been a good experience, and I appreciate the tools to make learning the platform easy to access.

Pros

I enjoy the Givebutter as it is easy to learn and use. There are many videos to help figure out how to best utilize the platform, and contact resources to help if needed.

Cons

Sometimes it still has duplicate contacts it does not recognize. So you need to manually go through and look and contacts pulled in.
