Fundraiser Civic & Social Organization Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Square Payments - very easy to use" December 14, 2025 4.0 Great app, works well and so far, cannot fault it. Obviously lower fees would be great, but so far so good! Pros Square payments is used by myself and a few others in a school PTA for money-raising events. Utilising Square as been brilliant, on top of the usual cash payments. It is easy to use, payments can be made via my phone or you can use their card machines that are linked to the phone. I like the items list feature which allows for post-event analysis of what was sold. Fees for transactions are not too bad and if you want the money transferred quicker, you can cash out early, with a small additional fee. Cons The more I use it, the more issues I may find, but currently it has worked very well over the last 8-10 events it was used. Perhaps add a QR code link to the account, so donations could be made on the spur, if added to posters or school marketing ephemera. Review Source BH Brian H. Pros As a small business in the service industry, square gave me the ability to accept card payments. This means I don't have to decline services for customers who prefer to pay by card. Pros Easy to use and integrate/implement for me and my clients. Transparent fees and quick payments. Comprehensive reporting. Cons I genuinely can’t think of any cons for Square. People love that they get a receipt immediately and that it already links to their account if they have set up their email. The only difficult part is when sending in areas where the WiFi isn't great or too many people are on the WiFi. Pros Square Payments is efficient, easy to use for both parties. One of our favorite features is that once a customer enters their email address, it is linked to their account and sends them a receipt, regardless of the vendor. It's so easy to set up. What I love most is the ability to tap on my phone without the use of an external card reader. There is also a website you can use for your store, which I briefly used as well. Cons The website had limited customization on the free version. But I ended up only using square payments for in-person markets. There are fees with collecting payments, but they were worth it since they are pretty minimal, and it made things more convenient. It is a reliable processor that allows us to do business as needed. Pros Square is mostly simple to use for someone that just needs a payment processor that works. I appreciate that I'm able to integrate Square into other services I use, such as Jotform, and also within webpages. The reporting features allow me to pull data from a range of fields and pinpoint transactions. I appreciate how easy it is to issue refunds, when needed. Cons It was be a bit confusing to navigate the dashboard and find the information you need. The search bar is necessary to find pretty much everything. When issuing a refund, processing fees are not refunded by Square so the business actually has to pay out of pocket for those anytime a refund is needed. Review Source GM Gabriel M. Now its like they are scamming for money. Pros I honestly can't listed any anymore. The company has fallen apart and It's heartbreaking. I can list cons. Cons Customer service is hard to contact these days and once in contact they do absolutely nothing to resolve issues. I have been using square since 2018. I have 4 businesses that use their service. The most recent setup was in 2023 and square has taken money by forcing instant deposit fees while the account is set to manual. Transaction fees are very low however we don't bill a lot through the terminal as a subscription based business. Pros The cost and ease of use. April 24, 2025 5.0 When our WiFi goes down, our store phone still works, and Square allows up to still be able to take payments or send over invoices to a customers email. Makes a stressful situation easier! The mobile app is also super convenient when we do markets. Pros We like how easy it is to send customers invoices as well as the functionality of the mobile app to accept tap payments, CashApp- even when you don't have an account yourself, as well as being able to keep track of cash payments. I don't worry about the fee transaction, or really dealt with Bugs and Issue, so there was no need for customer support so there is the value for money, because of it's ease of use.
