It was a game-changer then, and still is. From presentation creation to service flow, timing, etc, ProPresenter is superb and is a must app for any worship team. Pros The design of the software makes it very intuitive for a beginner to use, yet is also robust enough for those who want to do more with the app. I like the new design. Cons The learning curve for the more graphical features and slide movement can take a while to learn. The software can do SO much that it is important to "read the manual." This is not necessary to use, but to use the software at it's fullest, some time should be spent in the manual. It listens to its customers and continues to innovate for them. The product is anything but stale. Pros It offers nearly every possible feature you'd need for video production at a church or similar venue. It has great integrations with other platforms. It's also highly flexible for whatever your setup is. I even used it once to run and control an escape room we built for a company team week! Cons ProPresenter has continued to rapidly innovate with new features and capabilities over the years, making it extremely powerful. Unfortunately, as its functionality has grown, so has its learning curve. If you've been along for the entire ride, you've probably incrementally learned new features and new UX changes as they've been added. However, if you're new to using ProP, it can be very daunting to know where to start. I'd for sure recommend watching YouTube vids or other types of training before jumping straight in and hoping to figure it out along the way. It has been an extremely useful and dependable tool for corporate worship and special events. I put it on the Mount Rushmore of apps for worship ministry in the church today. Pros ProPresenter is the most stable, polished, and useful presentation tool for worship slides that a church can use. It is extremely feature-rich and scalable, yet simple enough for basic operation. There are many video training videos, and the customer help is excellent and responsive. Cons There's not much to not like! I have had trouble with Bible licensing purchases in the past, as well as the new model for device licenses. However, I think that has been worked out. There is no real help program that initially leads the user through a problem to diagnose and solve it. Pros Absolutely nothing. My church has been using PP for long time and we have been suffering from it's buggy issues the whole time. I have asked Manny times that we find something else but for some reason people like to suffer. Cons Almost everything about it has a problem at some point. Though I do have a love/hate relationship with it. Super easy to function, navigate, and have Songselect as an interface to receive music that lasts forever in library. I love how you can have videos, powerpoints, slides, countdowns, the Bible app all on one device. I just get frustrated when it does not want to work on a Sunday morning.... which happens quite a lot. It is easy to train individuals to work the program without having lots of training. Pros ProPresenter is modern, the user face is super friendly compared to other church audio/visual products out there, it is great for it's value of money, and customer support is very good and efficient. Cons ProPresenter likes to go chaotic sometimes, especially on a Sundy morning. It will go several minutes loading until you get to the home page or it says "not responding" for so many minutes. I noticed they used a different software for presentation than usual (in Italy is no diffused at all, almost among the Catholics). I started to understand how it works through video training and finally I decided to use it starting from creating some presentations of my personal worship songs I wrote. Then song after song I developed an entire database for the church where I minister and finally we use it for every kind of service (Mass service, Holy adoration, Youth service, meetings). I trained some operators to do the same so now I can get all the help we need for our church. Cons there's no cons whatsoever about this program. However, often they push updates that are terrible. When one of these faulty updates come out, they mess up the whole product. When it does it is super hard and time consuming to have fixed. In fact, I have been waiting since Saturday to have our product fixed. The reason that I am having to wait, is because it has to be at propresnter's convenience. I do not recommend this product, unless you are a software engineer. If you do not have much experience with programs like this......you will wish you never purchased this program. I wish I hadn't. Procontent has some good things, as well, but I think that it was misrepresented as well. Pros To be honest. I do not have much to say good about it. When the product works, it is a great product. However, they push updates that they do not check, and it constantly causes issues with the program. When you need support it is always on their time, and at their convenience. They have no support on the weekends, and they sometimes push the updates on Fridays that have issues and then you are scrambling for another program to substitute propresenter, becasue it will not work. In the past these updates have caused issues to the presentation screens, the program itself, files not being recognized; and often times you are not able to use the products that you purchased from them. They have no recompensation policy, so if they mess and they often do.....there mistake is on your time and dime. Cons The updates. Their timing is terrible. It is almost if they expect that you should have IT person on staff. They take no real responsibility for the actions that constantly cost their customers time and money. It works for those looking for a simple upgrade from PowerPoint and allows you to grow in your use and implementation as your needs change. Pros I love the versatility and flexibility ProPresenter offers. It allows me to not only present images, graphics, and videos to our church congregation for our services but also for many advanced features, such as outputting a lower thirds signal to our video switcher and taking video inputs in to put on our screen (using NDI). I also find the software to be very stable and easier to use than other presentation software I've used in the past. I also enjoy that I can pair ProP with Companion to allow it to interface with other software and hardware, such as our video switcher and sound board. Cons As an advanced software program, it can be challenging for new volunteers to master features beyond operating a prepared "show". However, there are many videos and written tutorials, including from Renewed Vision, which are helpful for initial training. Many times, you'll have to scroll to the very end of your background slides to get the newest ones instead of them coming up first. Cons There are several different systems displaying lyrics. It is all in what you get used to. I have used Powerpoint, MediaShout, and ProPresenter. It takes time to learn anything new and unfamiliar and everything has its pros and cons. ProPresenter overall is a great choice. Just be sure to give yourself time to learn all of its features. It can easily be run by a volunteer, and yet, for those willing to dive in, there are a plethora of additional options to enhance your live services. I have been able to fine-tune ProPresenter sucessfully for many different environments. Pros I love the ease of use for ProPresenter. It is not challenging to teach this to volunteers. The fact that I am able to change the program layout and text size on preview slides so quickly to match my volunteer's needs is terrific. Cons Bugs do pop up occasionally with new versions. In my position, I've used several different church presentation solutions over the years, and ProPresenter is worth the expense and the time it might take to transition from another platform. As a video professional, I appreciate the robust playback and the flexibility it offers to adapt to unique projection situations.
