Consolidating our existing systems and platforms

Pros

Layout is easy to use, especially for investors. The visuals and charts make it simple for our clients to track their distributions and see what projects they are invested in.

Cons

Customization is limited. We would like to have more custom reports generated and more integrations with other large software such as Infusionsoft, Parsey and Zapier.

Overall, the customer service and product have been outstanding and we have had a great experiencing using the product and our investors love it as well.

Pros

The ability to fund and have investors fill out the esignature agreements and have that connect with the investor portal side, is so helpful and a great time saver. Our investors are able to have more access to their investments. IMS saves us so much time on the administrative side as well because of how great the CRM features are, how we can bulk upload K-1s, and distributions and easily email our investors. IMS has really help streamline our operations.

Cons

I did feel like the implementation process was a lot of work with putting our data in a format that could be uploaded to IMS, but after that hurdle was overcome-- it was mostly smooth sailing. There are some features that have been glitchy or could use a little work, but on the grand scale, IMS is always updating and improving and adding features, so many of our concerns have been taken care of over time just because of platform upgrades/updates.

### "Falling behind on features"

It was a good platform for our first foray into an investor portal, but the missing features quickly made it difficult for us to continue staying with the same platform.

Pros

The user interface for our investors was simple and easy to use. The features that the portal did have were intuitive as well.

Cons

There were just a lot of missing features like the ability to collect ACH payments within the portal and the ability to seamless verify our investors' accreditation statuses. The IMS team didn't really seem interested in building these features that their competitors are starting to offer.

Overall, IMS is a good product. Though it has its limitations, we are overall satisfied with its performance. They are constantly working at becoming an excellent product/service, but they have a little ways to go.

Pros

I like that the support has a pretty quick turn-around and can usually answer all of my inquiries. I like that there is an email functionality embedded and that investors are generally able to retrieve their documents on the portal seamlessly. I like that they are always looking to improve the system and use feedback well.

Cons

The customization is limited. Certain metrics that we have repeatedly asked for were not implemented. IMS refused to give us a customizable Investment Summary to deliver to our investors. The Investment Summary Statements were one of the main reasons we were excited to use IMS, and the customization of the statements again fell short of our expectations, so we needed to implement a third-party vendor who could grant us our Summary requests.

### "Love our IMS Portal!"

Great product! We reached out to other operators in the real estate syndication business and they said this is one of the top portals to use for investors.

Pros

Ease of use for us as admins and for our investors. We have had several compliments on how easy it is to find info about their investments and the documents associated with them. We also love the ability to have our investors do online signatures, very quick and easy.

Cons

So many features it may take some time before we learn what they are and how to use them, which is a good thing!

IMS has more users, bigger company so I know the support will be around for a long time. IDR was run by one guy and a team of VAs. While the IDR product offers more customization, that didn't really add value to us, plus it was more expensive!

Overall, very happy that we moved over to them because it has saved us a lot of headaches and time with managing our capital partners...

Pros

I like the efficiencies and time that it saves. It also helps us to be more process oriented and in control of our touch points with investors. The software is constantly being improved and bugs are quickly fixed. Very happy with the responsiveness and engagement from customer service and our account rep! The new portal is much more design forward and it really blends in nicely as a white-labeled back end software tied to our existing website.

Cons

I didn't like that there were still some bugs to work out (which to be clear have been fixed) and there were some fixes that needed to occur after we initially adopted it. I didn't like the earlier design options since we were trying to blend it seamlessly into our branding and "look". Fortunately, improvements and fixes are always occurring and IMS has been great to work with.

It allows me to run lean and steam lines some of the most important back office components of my business.

Pros

It has allowed me to run my business without hiring a single coder or developer. The IMS support team is always helpful and great at passing on feedback to their development team. New features are consistently being added and existing ones are always improving.

Cons

There can be a bit of a learning curve but IMS-U as well as the support team is always helpful.

the functionality of having an org chart as part of the build. the visual helps.

Cons

the system feels cumbersome. it takes a lot to build things out. recently there was/is a bug in the "commitment" feature which rendered it useless. as our company grows this is a critical feature and with it being non-functional it severely diminishes the benefit of IMS to the point of looking at other options. The commitment did not "push" new investors to complete their profile information as it was in the past, or should be and is through other streams within IMS. this resulted in new investors signing blank forms and the entire process having to be rebuilt, and redone. It made our company look very inexperienced in front of our new customers.

We are using IMS for investor reporting, secure document delivery and capital raising for new investment opportunities.

Pros

We are a small commercial real estate investment management company that focuses on value-add real estate deals for qualified investors. We needed a platform to enhance the investor experience and provide transparency to the operations of our investor's assets. IMS has worked very well in doing just that. In addition it offers the functionality of creating efficiency in future capital raises. We are very happy with our decision to go with IMS.

Cons

The setup of investors and assets in IMS is a touch cumbersome, but once uploaded and complete this is not an issue. This may also be a function of our small size and our lack of any in-house IT or admin personnel. This process was handled by the principal of the firm (me), who has limited technical background. The fact that we are able to get through the installation and upload process with only minimal problems can be considered a positive.

I'm going to be taking a good hard look at Juniper Square in 2021.

Pros

The aesthetic and ability for our investors to have a reputable platform to access investment performance information.

Cons

Every time we have a simple transfer of equity it completely throws off our waterfall calculations. We've addressed this numerous times with no meaningful resolution or explanation, and the longer it continues the more the problem compounds.

The customer service is awesome. Our relationship manager, \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\], has be great at responding to our emails and questions in a timely manner and setting up calls to go over the application. More "hands on" webinars and classes would be very helpful.

Pros

The ability to create trust and transparency with our investors by providing them information about their property and finances.

Cons

It's a bit of a learning curve to learn the application. The office hours and webinars are great and very helpful.

IMS has been a great tool for our firm. Two other groups we work with adopted the software as well based on my constant cheerleading for IMS.

Pros

This helped stream line several of our processes. Additionally this allowed us to grow our platform overnight once implemented. The onboarding team was great along with the our point man for our account.

Cons

Once you learn the pattern of how things are stored its very user friendly. I'm not the most tech savvy guy admittedly.

Pros

Fluid customer interface for our stakeholders, NACHA files gives our team 500 hours back each year, reduction in human error for calculating distributions, and a great information/document store for investor relations administration

The data is silo'ed and can not be combined with other business programs like mailchimp or salesforce

Pros

As the newest member of the team I found the softwware very easy to learn. In no time at all I was finding my waay around and completing my tasks on my own.

Cons

Therre are not to many cons as far as integratting into our business. It works really well with it. I do wish you could deep dive a little more into some of the reports thqt can be run.

Pros

We used IMS to distribute K1s to our investors for the first time. In the past, we sent 100's of emails with the investors' K1s attached. IMS provided us with a safe platform to disseminate the investors information and provided greater efficiency in the process.

Cons

I would like to see IMS calculate more complex waterfalls for our distribution process. Our waterfalls are complex and unique. And we've had to calculate the waterfalls manually along side IMS to ensure accuracy, because of different nuances each deal has. When we do calculate manually, it is double effort. And that does not improve efficiency. If IMS could automate this process, that would be fantastic.

The IMS platform can calculate waterfalls for complex, unique situations. ### "Great Investor Portal Software"

Time saver, keeps the clutter of multiple systems and tracking systems down to 1, allows us to spend less time monthly preparing distributions to investors.

Pros

This software makes tracking numerous portals and deals easy and efficiently. We are able to send out Investor reports and information more effectively than trying to keep a log of every investor and what deals they are apart of and sending multiple emails. Investors in return can login to the portal and view documents and not have to worry about a missed email.

Cons

The only complaint is setting up some of the more complicated calculations for distributions when there are waterfall calculations. We have had to reach out for help a couple times, but we have been provided with great assistance every time.

Very good

Pros

Professional interface between sponsor and investor. Enables smaller operator to have the presence of a bigger company.

Cons

Importing existing deals was challenging. The first deal the team helped me with. The second deal I imported the data on my own. There seemed to be a clear handoff between the implementation team and the ongoing support team. However, for importing any existing deals, I recommend the sponsors move back to working with the importation team. It took me about three weeks of back and forth with the operations team to get all the wrinkles ironed out on my import. At least three times, we needed to get the help of the data or back end team and I was essentially put on a waiting list each time, which added 2 days before we could get that wrinkle ironed out. That's my only real complaint at this stage

1\. Ability to easily interact with investors at one time 2. It feels early-stage enough that my feedback is valued and appreciated 3. Very easy to manage once asset is uploaded 4. Auditing/tracking historical interactions

Cons

1\. Still missing some functionality (e.g., ability to copy an old email and use for a new one) 2. Hard to get new projects onboarded, especially because there is not muscle memory and so it's every few months 3. There are things that require IMS's help to do that I would like to do myself but system won't allow it

I initially chose IMS because out of all the demos I participated in- IMS seemed the most "user friendly" and so far it has been!

Cons

Right when we kicked off- we had some troubles immediately with getting the invitation out to investors. That was a little alarming and embarrassing. I hope this was a one time thing.

We have been familiar with RealPage as a company from using the Property Management software, so when we were in the market for an Investor Management Software and heard RealPage had just purchased IMS, we were ready to continue the relationship with RealPage.

Pros

Ease of use and customer service. We had been using RealPage OneSite Property Management Software for several years and had been very happy with the implementation process as well as the follow up customer service.

Cons

There are a few calculations and features that could be improved upon, but overall it is very user friendly and takes a lot of the human error out of the equation.
