In the past 2 years we've been a Trustpilot customer, they've increased the subscription price whilst taking away features and not adding any new features to our plan, so we're paying for a diminished product, but so many software companies are doing this nowadays. I truly wish there was an alternative

The interface is very user friendly, it's easy to integrate with ecommerce and easy to manage replying to customer reviews.

Cons

It seems like it's a bit of a 'necessary evil' to have, on one hand we need a system to collect customer reviews, but also the ability to reply to any reviews and so we're left paying for this expensive bit of software just to manage our reputation.

We initially saw value in Trustpilot, but after experiencing unethical renewal practices and a refusal to engage in fair dialogue, we can no longer recommend them. They will likely respond to this review with a generic statement about "contract terms" and directing us to their support team – but that is exactly the issue. Their "support" consists of canned responses that do not address real concerns. Any business considering Trustpilot should be extremely cautious and ensure they understand the full implications of their subscription terms. There are alternative platforms with far more ethical business practices.

Pros

Trustpilot’s platform is well-known, and having customer reviews in one place can be useful for businesses. The integration options are solid, and the basic functionality does what it promises.

Cons

Trustpilot’s aggressive renewal tactics and lack of transparency make them a risky partner for any business. They enforce automatic renewals at drastically increased prices without clear consent, and their support team does little to resolve disputes fairly. Instead of prioritizing customer relationships, they seem focused on locking businesses into overpriced contracts with little room for negotiation.

When I made contact I thought they would fix their error but they didn't. I received what seemed like an automated reply with no name that they still wouldn't allow my review due to their automated detection technology.

Pros

The website was easy to use and fill in the boxes to leave a review. I didn't realise though that trust pilot would choose which reviews were going to be added to their website.

Cons

My review was removed because trust pilot use automated detection technology which checks your location and the review for advertising or harmful/illegal content. I reviewed a local business which I was able to provide documentation for and didn't include any advertising or harmful/illegal content and my review was still not allowed. Several of my friends who also left genuine reviews for the same business had their reviews removed.

My overall experience with Trustpilot has been positive, both in reviewing through them as well as reading other people's reviews. It is a very useful company, especially in today's digital age.

Pros

Trustpilot is excellent. Reviews are important when it comes to me deciding what products/companies to trust and buy from, and Trustpilot helps me do that. I get to read from authentic experiences from customers in real time, and it really helps to decide whether or not companies are legitimate. 10/10 product in my eyes.

Cons

Trustpilot is only as useful as the reviewers that use it. The more reviews, the more reliable Trustpilot's reviews are because we get to read from a variety of sources as opposed to one very satisfied/dissatisfied customer. Trustpilot is a more like an "if you know, you know" type of company, and one thing I would suggest they do is to advertise themselves in order to attract more reviewers.

Even when we are getting great reviews, it can be hard to get a satisfied customer to review us without having to ask multiple times.

Incredibly damaging to business! I registered with Trustpilot as a company and received a 5-star rating. However, my profile shows 3.7 stars. I then sent my profile to many of my customers and they rated it. All with 5 stars. My profile showed 4.3. And now Trustpilot has deleted 6 reviews from my customers. Now I'm back at 4.0. It looks like Trustpilot is deliberately trying to damage my business. TO ALL NEW BUSINESSES! BE CAREFUL WHEN REGISTERING, IT CAN BE VERY DAMAGING TO YOUR BUSINESS. By the way, once created, you cant delete your account. This is called slavery.

Now nothing. As a new business this is the worst you can do. Sorry but cant say even one positiv thing about trustpilot. They are very famous but they dangerous for new business.

Cons

Get bad reputation by using trustpilot. The system of trustpilot is not like every other system. On every reviewing system, when you have 4 5Star reviews, you have 5 Stars on your profile with a small (4). this show the count. Very clear to understand for everybody. On trustpilot you have 4Star profile. So you look like a bad decision for new customers.

### "Trustpilot is great if you want to collect and show your reviews."

We had tried two other review management software along with Trustpilot before implementing it. After testing it appeared to have the right cost to experience balance. Within a few weeks we were getting our reviews, finding out issues that customers were telling us about that they probably were not going to mention without prompting.

Pros

We used Trustpilot to monitor our customers after they received their orders. We set up an email to be sent a day after the expected delivery date to confirm the order was proper (printed cards) and asked for a review. We received about a 25% response some months. I think our average was about 10% overall. We would also set to post all current reviews that were 5star on the home page of the website and all 3+ stars on the testimonials page of the site. We could match the look and colors to match the site and even used custom stars to match. The online software was easy to use and integration was essentially copy and paste.

Cons

It wasn't easy to remove 1 star reviews. LOL. Actually there were not many things that I would say were issues with the software other than a non-tech person may get confused on how to set it up. However the documentation was good and support an email away.

Customer engagement has increased since I now know what my customers are complaining about and I can quickly fix it with the help of Trustpilots analysis and feedback management.

Pros

I like that my customers can freely say what they feel about my business and having a customer take their time to give a review means I can offer support outside of my own business. This in turn increases my overall customer service experience and offers potential customers transparency and unbiased business practices.

Cons

I didn't like the fact that people can't be screened for legitimate reviews so that hurts my business sometimes because some people come on Trustpilot to give negative reviews so that really messes up the metrics. Hence I have stated I don't really like reports because they have fake reviews.

As a customer, I expect a certain level of sincerity and professionalism from companies, especially those that promote genuine customer experiences. Unfortunately, my interactions with this company have been utterly disappointing, characterized by a lack of real communication and a failure to adhere to their own stated guidelines. I approached the company with a serious concern that directly contradicted their community guidelines. Rather than receiving a thoughtful response, I was met with robotic, automated replies. These messages, which were ostensibly translated into Danish, failed to address the specific issues I raised. It's perplexing and frustrating to receive a response in a language that suggests no genuine effort to understand my initial communication. Furthermore, the company's reliance on automated responses underlines a significant gap between their professed values and actual practices. It's disheartening to see a company talk about authenticity and customer engagement, only to hide behind generic, automated messages that offer no real solutions or acknowledgments of the problem. The irony is that their replies often reference their guidelines and rules, which, from my experience, they don't seem to follow themselves. This contradiction not only undermines their credibility but also highlights a worrying lack of accountability. For a company that is part of a platform like Trustpilot, which is designed to foster transparency and honest feedback, this behavior is particularly concerning. It's essential for such platforms to represent companies that genuinely interact and engage with their customers. Unfortunately, this has not been my experience. In conclusion, I am left with a sense of profound disappointment and frustration. The service I received was far from the sincere, problem-solving approach I expected. If the company is genuinely interested in improving and upholding its standards, I urge them to reevaluate their customer interaction strategies and start practicing what they preach. Until then, I can only advise others to approach this company with caution.

I found it tricky to use, because I have several email addresses, and trustpilot doesn't enable me to link them, thus downgrading my own reputation, which detracts from its value.

Pros

What I like most on trustpilot is it enables to make comparitive judgement on similar suppliers, by means of a dashboard style score.

Cons

As a consumer, there is little chance to modify or update reviews once they have been made, you can't add a reply, so if the supplier sends you a white widget by mistake, and you ordered a green widget, then supplier makes a false claim, saying we sent you a green widget, there is no continuance of thread.That example could allow occasional complaints to be glossed over, on the other hand, if the company responded and said we're sending a green widget today, and you then wished to edit, or reply and change overall opinion and rating you cannot, again as an end user.

Trust pilot as above i said name is enough for their contribution in every possible sector, where trust and reliability is most important factor. I am using trust pilot sinse 2010.i feel their 75% of views express here are true and organic. Now a days everyday new frauds are coming in news, so people 's dont trust easily. This platform play significant role and help people in determining what is best for him. This is the only reason, I really liked this platform very much. I also have posted several reviews. You can check.

Cons

I dont like about trust pilot only one point, here anybody can post fake reviews. I suggested for trust pilot, first check genuineness of reviewer, so that no one post fake review. It also increased their reputation, reliability and trust.

### "Great Experience using Free Version"

Pros

Full disclaimer, we are using the free version of TrustPilot and have been for a year or two. What's great about is the ease of response and snapshot insights that we're able to receive. I like that even with the free account there are some customizations available.

Cons

I feel like TrustPilot could be a bit more involved when someone submits multiple reviews about the same issue. Sometimes they'll catch it and note it's not part of the overall score - but other times they don't. Also, if we do a request for more information from the poster and they don't respond, it doesn't give us any avenue to address their concerns and the review should be removed in my opinion. I don't bother to fight these as TrustPilot is not our main review platform, but if it was this would definitely be more cause for concern.

### "Years of frustration, terrible investment"

The last straw that finally pushed us to sign up with another review company (Verified-Reviews), was when a customer posted a horrible review about our company and insisted that we discount a product they wanted by 50% or they wouldn't remove the terrible review. We were not ok with extortion and thought showing Trustpilot this totally inappropriate demand from a rogue customer would result in the bad review being removed. Shockingly Trustpilot refused to take down the bad review even after we showed them proof in emails from the customer that they wouldn't remove the review unless we discounted one of our products by 50%. We had enough being taken advantage of by Trustpilots outrageous fees and contracts, then they allow customers to extort us, and customer service was horrible... we are SO glad we left!

Pros

Trustpilot had a better UI / design than other 3rd party review platforms, that eventually turned out to be a wolf in sheep's clothing mistake that our company should have recognized far sooner.

Cons

We find Trustpilot's renewal practices oppressive, with the exponential price demands, very unreasonable, and with terrible service on so many issues we experienced with their back end system. Then the amount of fake reviews being left by spammers was a daily annoyance that we had to manually flag; it became impossible to accept after we'd have multiple reviews left in a day from people leaving fake reviews on our acccount about a TV they bought, or a vacation package, it very quickly dissolved into nothing but a major headache for our team to monitor and Trustpilot's customer service was worthless.

### "The esiest way to know who you should trust"

Trustpilot helped me several times

Pros

Trustpilot is absolutely the better and the esiest way to understand if a service is reliable or not.It is very intuitive and easy to use.

Cons

There are some things that are missing or could be improven, for example there is not a "news" or "articoles" section.
