Cons I would say there is a bit of a learning curve when coming to Sage Accounting with limited experience in other Sage products. Anything with walk in traffic and random misc invoices will be impossible to find later and make life hell for users. Pros Not alot of great things to say about it... does the job for what it is and has decent accesibility but very mid product. Cons Searching for invoices, the QR code for payment, Invoice design, cant preset taxes per customer with excemptions, hassle to track items, customer support is brutal and very disappointing to deal with. President Broadcast Media Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Accountant cannot access my online files" January 21, 2026 3.0 Overall completely dissatisfied with this Sage product with my accountant not being able to access my files as promised. I will revise my review if and when Sage offers a solution to my dilemma. Thinking of switching to Quickbooks online which means I lose another year of data. Pros I am using business cloud and I like many of the features. It is relative easy to learn and easy to use. I like that I can access my files from a PC and from a Mac Cons I switched to business cloud on the recommendation of my accountant who uses Sage 50. I do my own bookkeeping and I wanted my accountant to have direct access to my files. He was also supposed to get me up and running on the new to me software. Because I was running late with tax returns I handed one year's worth of bookkeeping to the accountant firm. They would then migrate the date from their Sage 50 into my business cloud for a seamless transition. I was assured that this was not a problem by Sage and my then accountant. Well the accountant was not able to migrate the data because they could not gain access to my account. I even gave them my personal sign in but they were unable to migrate the data. I was so disappointed that I switched accountants. I lost a whole year worth of historical data and had to start a new file. Well, at the end of this year my new accountant ran into the same problem. He was not able to access my accounts and Sage support was not able to solve the probem. He spent several hours with them in chat and I have the chat files to prove he tried (phone support is not provided). This I find unbelievable and unacceptable and so does he. The problem has not be solved to date! Truly this must be a structual problem known to Sage So, I am stuck now paying the subcription for Sage cloud even though it does not do what I was promised. We are a medium sized business, but this is perfect from all business ranging from small to conglomerates due to how easy it is to access and its value for money. I always seem to get the answer I need. Cons The connection between Sage and Payment Evolution is not seamless and both companies seem to say "it's the other vendor" as the problem. Can't get into #1 NO support. I am paying for 2 licenses and can only access one.. Would really appreciate having someone from Sage help me out with this. I need to cancel the migration which went to the wrong business and I need access to both accounts or I will have to cancel and go somewhere else. Pros I like the idea of working on a cloud based program that could be accessed to myself and my bookkeeper Cons NO support.. I have 2 accounts, each business with their own email address and password. We haven't started with anything just yet except to migrate information to business #1. We were logged into business #1 and started the migration. Everything went to Business #2. Now I can't even get into business #1. It doesn't matter which email address I log onto with, it now always goes to business #2. I tried to do what I was told in the chat window, but can't get past the email address. I can easily report my finances and invoicing is a breeze. Pros Its really easy to send invoices and you can see when the invoice was delevered and when it was seen. This way I know when my customers get my invoices. Cons Trying to get a hold of customer service is a nightmare. I have had issues in the past and really needed to speak to someone and it was really hard to find any phone numbers or any contact info to help. I neded up figuring things out on my own but it took longer and was not easy to do. However your price is very agreeable for our small business Pros I like how easy it is to organize invoices, products and match banking records. The front page gives me a full view of of ingoing and outgoing expenses, I can see who still owes on invoices. Cons I would love to see a rearrange lines in an estimate or a quote, I think that is a very big oversight, something I miss from using Quickbooks. The help pages don't work on my browser (Chrome) which I think is pretty frustrating overall. I have noticed that the product filter doesn't work very well, something else that I find frustrating when I am trying to work in sections of inventory. The price increased recently but I don’t think any extra services or features were added. Pros I like the reports and how organized I feel when I take the time to fill in my income and expenses regularly. I don’t use it for invoicing yet, just small business bookkeeping. Cons You have to understand basic bookkeeping with ledgers and all (rather different from just having a spreadsheet of income and expenses). It’s hard to know the categories for expenses - took a lot of googling because there’s nowhere on the site with that info. I think it would be best to work with a bookkeeper or accountant to set up all the ledgers/categories so you best utilize the site from day one. We are stuck using accounting (sage 50) because there is no way to upgrade and transfer all the information. To upgrade you need to manually input all information to the upgraded version. One is deleted before the other can be used. Pros Easy and straight forward, New options are provided all the time. Invoicing is easy. Reporting is clicks of buttons. Cons Not being able to pin the login page for long term use on my computer with out security check in (code sent) to often. I believe pricing should be based on what you use. Can be very pricy when you do not use all the functions. I love the simplicity of the system and how more in depth you can use it if you need to. Almost 2 years ago I changed from Sage 50 to the Sage one online system. It took some getting used to but I love I can work anywhere that has internet. Cons I don't like that you can't search customers by address or ph #. Pros The Cloud based approach was the selling point for me. I am a retired accountant who used Accpac Accounting modules. This product is a basic system that works for the seniors' activity centre where I volunteer as Treasurer and board member. I needed a system that others could access if they needed to, although in general, they do not, but you never know. The cloud based system allows me to work from home. I love being able to send invoices through my phone as well as my computer. I have gotten better over the last few years and the transactions I do daily are easy to use and I have never had an issue with the speed or how well it works.
