Cons I would say there is a bit of a learning curve when coming to Sage Accounting with limited experience in other Sage products. Anything with walk in traffic and random misc invoices will be impossible to find later and make life hell for users. Pros Not alot of great things to say about it... does the job for what it is and has decent accesibility but very mid product. Cons Searching for invoices, the QR code for payment, Invoice design, cant preset taxes per customer with excemptions, hassle to track items, customer support is brutal and very disappointing to deal with. I hope these fixes will be implemented quickly and that the product will be more competitive with QuickBooks and others. Pros I have been using Sage 50 for over 15 years and I have always found this product very easy to use, fast in execution, with many reporting possibilities, very professional software and without bugs....But my enthusiasm flew away when I switched to Sage Cloud. Cons For the past two years, I've migrated all my clients to Sage Cloud, thinking I was taking a step forward. But honestly, I regret my move. I feel like I'm going backward when it should be even faster and more efficient than Sage 50. And my clients aren't very happy either. For example, one of my clients has five companies but manages everything under a single email address. However, it takes a different email address to open a new company, which I find ridiculous. Elsewhere, there's a master (owner) account where you can add multiple companies, but it's still just one account. Secondly, the project-based accounting isn't very advanced. I can't generate a single report with all the projects included. If I have 15 projects, I have to generate 15 separate reports. This will be nonsensical by 2026. The same goes for manually transferring GL balances to the net profit at the end of the year. This should be done automatically. These are just a few of the irritations I encounter on a daily basis. Whether it's payables, receivables or reporting Sage is a platform that can do it all! Pros Sage is an amazing product! Super easy to use both and easy to get customer support. We are a medium sized business, but this is perfect from all business ranging from small to conglomerates due to how easy it is to access and its value for money. It's a win for my business. Access from my mobile phone makes life accessible. Pros The support. The chat until 8:00 pm at night is fantastic for small business that work all hours. I always seem to get the answer I need. Cons The connection between Sage and Payment Evolution is not seamless and both companies seem to say "it's the other vendor" as the problem. Can't get into #1 NO support. I am paying for 2 licenses and can only access one.. Would really appreciate having someone from Sage help me out with this. I need to cancel the migration which went to the wrong business and I need access to both accounts or I will have to cancel and go somewhere else. Pros I like the idea of working on a cloud based program that could be accessed to myself and my bookkeeper Cons NO support.. I have 2 accounts, each business with their own email address and password. We haven't started with anything just yet except to migrate information to business #1. We were logged into business #1 and started the migration. Everything went to Business #2. Now I can't even get into business #1. It doesn't matter which email address I log onto with, it now always goes to business #2. I tried to do what I was told in the chat window, but can't get past the email address. It's leagues behind Xero and QBO - I hate QBO personally. Pros I like that my customers can do their own invoicing through Sage Accounting & I can pull the data in to Sage 50. Cons The inability to give multiple users permissions to use the app. The inability to adjust tax codes for my own use. The inability to issue receipts - come on - why is this still an issue? Should have been included with the first release and we've been asking for this functionality forever. The inability to adjust invoices beyond the templates. Limited apps for integration. I am retiring and the contract with the main consulting customer was expiring. My own business is now inactive and will cease to operate by the end of the year. Pros The cost of the basic on line version was reasonable. I was able to transfer info from Sage 50 fairly easiy Cons I found the bank reconciliation to be rather convoluted. It was significantly different from what I was used to with Sage 50. It took longer that I expected to get used to the online version of Sage. Moving from one accounting system to another is always difficult however I didn't have many teething issues and on the whole the pros of using Sage Accounting outweighed the Cons Pros The ability to include attachments to journal postings meaning more detailed and descriptive backing of postings and being able to locate the backing with ease. Cons There is no easy way of viewing and tailoring reports to for example show postings made by a particular employee for a certain month. Frequent updates always make Sage better, and more simple to use. Payroll through sage is also very easy, and filing T4's at the end of the year is very efficient. Sage makes the hard work seem easy!
