Cons Its usability can be a little difficult when it comes to finding different documents that are shared with you. I found it a bit difficult to create folders and shortcuts to items that are frequently visited. I like most of the aps I use together. It can be a little clunky and overwhelming at first but it's totally worth learning. The more I learn about Teams features, the more I like it! Pros It has a real time chat and call feature. You can use video on call or none. Voicemails automatically convert to text. It's easy to use and learn. The pin bar is great for quick access to the other aps you use, and you can customize it. The groups, or teams, are a great as to stay in communication about projects. Cons Some of the default settings are not mine or my coworkers' preferences and we had to go digging the settings to change them. Better than the other tools in the market in my experience too. Pros Great tool for online meetings especially now that it is integranted with Copilot. IT Director Religious Institutions Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Teams - One Stop Shop for VOIP and Instant Messaging in your Org" July 24, 2025 5.0 Full Disclosure - I work at a nonprofit Org so I get discounted rates via TechSoup. That said, Teams pricing rates are great bang for our buck. We use the Instant Message heavily in our Org for quick messages to teammates and for "bulletin board" type posts to the Org as a whole using Channels, as well as Team communication on separate Team Channels. Pros The VOIP! For us, we don't need a complicated Menu Tree when someone calls into your Org, we just want it to go to Receptionist who then passes the call out to who it goes to or takes a message. Our Org HATED using hard phones and now we are free to just use the Teams App on our personal devices. No more missing calls because you were mobile, no more expensive hardware. Plus, we only pay a monthly fee for the Users who actually need to make Outbound calls which greatly cut our phone bill down. The Instant Messaging "just works" so it's hard to pinpoint an area to praise - it does what you would expect and it does it very well. If you are an O365 shop, you should really consider adding it to your Org. Cons No much, I really can't think of a nagging negative thing to say about Teams. As I mentioned above, if we DID have a complex Phone Tree need, then I don't think Teams would be a good fit. And if you want to use your old desk phones, they probably won't work with this system, we needed to buy new up to date phones for those few that wanted a desk phone still. Switched from [ecQX](https://www.capterra.com/p/207824/ecQX/) We used to have an Epygi phone device on-prem. It wasn't easy to manage and we were paying a lot more in monthly fees for this system.
