Being so far apart allows us to really recognize our off-shore staff for those efforts they go through constantly to keep our business running smoothly. Pros The best part about Bonusly is the ability to quickly and effectively share your recognition of peers beyond a simple "thank you". Even small bonuses are incredibly effective at supporting a cohesive team unit and even with morale. It is the smallest of gestures, but it is always a treat to give and receive the support. Cons Honestly there is little I dislike about Bonusly. The only thing I can think of is the small availability of potential rewards, but the most useful rewards are always available so it's a minor thing to say the least. With the charity as an option in redemption, a lot of my team mates have donated to Nanhi Kali. In-short this app has motivated them to donate their bonus via Bonusly and help educate a girl child. Pros You don't have to wait for the bonus for the festive or 6 months, nor you have to wait for the hike. It is instant bonus, you do good, you get rewarded. " August 2, 2023 4.0 Pros This app is amazing for sending peer to peer and manager to peer recognition. It kind of reads like a social media platform where you can see all the interactions throughout your business (which is extremely appealing and helpful.) Employees can cash out points for gift cards after they’ve gone above and beyond at their job and received points from co workers. Cons It’s costly (you’re paying for $10 worth of gift cards, per month, per employee) but you know what you’re getting into and I still think it’s worth it to celebrate recognition. Additionally, the desktop version is hard to use on your phone. It’s difficult to react to threads and post photos in comments. I recommend the mobile version. Pros The most obvious is receiving points from colleagues so I could spend them on gift cards for Amazon or Zalando. Also it was often fun seeing what my co-workers were up to and the fun and creative posts people would come up with to send bonuses. Cons There could have been more options for online retailers, whilst we had a couple of good ones here in Spain. The ones in the UK were much better. Cons At my company there is a limit to the amount of points that you can give out each month without paying extra, which makes sense but makes you be selective in recognizing all the good thing that are happening. I also appreciate the ability to tag gifs in the post. Adding on to a post is also a great feature. Cons I don't like that the bonusly is lost for the month. The software needs to be better about reminding individuals to use their amount. Also I do not like that I always have to use the a hashtag with a post. The Company is shown to care and provide an extra incentive to their staff. Pros Easy to use Presented well Updates of ideas for gifts Fantastic software that is provided to allow staff to acknowledge team memebers. This allows the Organisation to give incentives/encouragement to receive gift/gifts once earned enough points. This has also allowed staff to have group lunches which also encourages team morale with their points. Cons To be honest I find it straight forward. I have in the past had a few issue's with updating our credit card details. Had updated, but still received email that we owed funds. It's been a wonderful way to boost morale!" May 8, 2018 5.0 Using Bonusly has boosted morale for our staff members who feel highlighted and recognized in a prompt and positive way every time the leadership or colleagues list a specific shout-out and tie it to a financial reward. It's been a very fun and positive activity for our staff to participate in - some staff use Bonusly throughout the month, but most make sure they give out rewards before their balance runs out at the end of the month. It's both fun to send the shout-outs and, of course, to receive them. Sometimes our work environment gets exhausting and this is a great way to infuse new energy. Pros Our team loves the opportunity to promptly reward positive behavior and helpful acts of service with something tangible like a Bonusly reward. We had been doing shout-outs already, but to actually pair a shout-out with a financial reward that you can save up has been received very well. Most of our staff make sure they use up their allotment by the end of the month. I like that it's easy to reward individuals and teams and let everyone know what I see them or their peers doing really well. Cons We didn't like the leaderboard very much as our team works so closely together that it felt counter-productive to introduce this competitive aspect. It made the people at the bottom feel bad and the people at the top felt kind of embarrassed/like they didn't deserve the extra recognition more than many others. We asked the team to remove it and they asked us if we were sure - and then made the changes for us, which everyone appreciated. The variety of options was super nice and easy to personalize however you wanted to use your bonus! By giving everyone some 'money' to do that, it helps make sure that people feel appreciated and that they have a way to say thank you. Cons There are a few of the new features that I think should be included in the base software - especially for those of us who signed up early when there wasn't 2 tiers of product. I'm also really unhappy with the fact that they add rewards whenever they feel like and automatically turn them on instead of letting me control that. There are some causes like Planned Parenthood which can be controversial and I would like the opportunity to review rewards before they are published into our catalog. I'm glad I don't have to go a website to give points, even though giving points on the website is very simple and has more features (such as gif responses) that the Slack integration doesn't support. Pros I like that I can give people a little extra something for the work they do. Even if the conversion rate is not a lot, it is nice to publicly show appreciation for people in a different way than a simple "thank you". Cons Sometimes it seems like the points received by people come down to a popularity contest and some people can feel excluded at times.
