" October 1, 2022 5.0 Pros It does the job. There is a drag and drop feature that is very user friendly. There is also an email-submission feature as an alternative that some people prefer. Cons It is still prone to human error- if a system administrator is not sufficiently organized or attentive payments could be delayed and tracking can get confusing. Cons Bill.com currently doesn't support HEIC files, which is rough when most of your employees have iPhones and don't always remember to turn off "Live" photos before snapping the receipt. Considering leaving Pros A sizable amount of time has been saved elimination paper checks for my medium sized retail business. Cons I had a couple simple questions regarding international payment options and could not be more displeased with the attempt at customer service. The fact that there is no phone service is always a red flag to me. They attempt to not service you at all with guides for FAQs but if you have a very specific question you will not find your answers. I needed 30 seconds of service and it took me 30 minutes. Like a good flight, when someone asks you about your flight you say "uh, it was fine.' because everything went as expected. Bill is the same. Receiving email notifications for approvals makes things as simple as checking my email and approving once a day. Getting a vendor set up with Bill.com also seems like a quick and easy process. All of our vendors have been able to get started without issue Cons Bill.com accomplishes everything that I need, though I don't use all of their features, it works perfectly for me. January 19, 2018 5.0 Easier day at the office. Pros I like how clear everything is and how everything is interconnected. I also LOVE the customer service- the chat respondents are quick and almost always can help you right away, which makes such a huge difference when juggling multiple portfolios. I also love being able to easily keep all details regarding each invoice in a way that allows you to pull up reports right in the software. This is so useful. Cons It can be a little unclear exactly what the rules are regarding canceling transactions, especially when it comes to bills being sent in the mail vs. e-bills. A small reminder at the time of payment when an option is clicked would make a HUGE difference. The international payments issues is a small inconvenience, but the seamless functionality of their platform for 99% of other cases more than makes up for this. Pros Bill.com makes it simple to work with teammates to enter, review, and approve invoices and payments. The interface is simple and intuitive, and we're able to use Bill.com to handle the large majority of vendors we work with. Cons We work with some international vendors and contractors in regions where Bill.com either isn't supported or is only able to send funds in a way that incurs a fee for the receiving party, which can lead to some confusion. There's too many great competitors out there to tolerate using bill.com. I've used about half a dozen invoicing tools and this is the most disappointing of the bunch. Pros Not much. The bill.com software was enticing as it can connect vendors and customers but the interface is lacking, the free features don't let you even add an email address to send your invoice too! Instead of indicating that and saying "this is a premium feature" they leave you to wonder why you can't insert an email address into the "to" field. I couldn't fathom that any company in 2020 would actually not let me send an invoice I created -- even on a free account. There's too much good software out there to use bill.com Cons The support is terrible. Answers are basically "ya, you can't do that". They are actually trying to upsell me when I'm contacting them about deleting my account (which you can't do on your own). Easy search features allows you to go back and view previously paid invoices. Fast payments. Tells you if payment is outstanding or not. Cons Sometimes can be a bit too simple. Would be nice to have some extra features. E.g. you can set up a recurring payment but you cannot edit any text that will appear on the check and it defaults with a date. I use it for quite a few accounting clients and have always found that if I run into a snag, the customer support chat team at Bill.com is able to assist me. Admittedly, the issues I've had have all been user errors, rather than shortcomings related to the software. Pros I love bill.com for the ability to approve bill payments. As a bookkeeper this allows me to manage accounts payable for the business and schedule bills to be paid while allowing the business owner or manager to ultimately be the one that approves the payments. It's easy to use and it integrates with QuickBooks Online which simplifies the accounts payable process. Cons I think it's a little expensive compared to some of the other products available. It has a very good interface. Cons No matter how secure the password verification process is, it is actually a security vulnerability that it leaves everything to us. It syncs with Quickbooks and other accounting services for easy tracking of invoices. We also make payments to our independent contractors through Bill.com and it's in their account in a couple of days. Cons The cost can be a little high for small business unless this is there accounting method. Other than that, I really like Bill.com and do not have many cons. Not only are we able to do electronic payments, but we have implemented an added layer of security with the approval feature. Our\[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] approves all payments out, satisfying audit trail requirements. Pros Bill.com has been electronic payments so much easier for our organization. We work with a lot of young folks, and cashing checks is no fun. Our staff, volunteers, and vendors appreciate the ease of an electronic payment so much. Cons The software is expensive, as they charge a flat rate + fees for each transaction. So if you have a high volume of transactions, the monthly invoice adds up quickly. Pros The concept of having a digital copy of each bill/invoice/statement that you can open up at any time. This is exceptionally helpful during closing, if you need to verify something. Cons The fact that credits have to be posted in both bill.com and in your accounting software. It makes it double work when something needs to be credited off from a prior period. Other companies out there supply the same support and my advice would be to seek out those companies as for the price and service you get, it's well below where it should be. Pros Set up isn't very difficult and linking to QBO is easy, ability to set different approval levels is a great feature for segregation of duties Cons Awful customer support. Can't talk to anyone on the phone, just thru chat. They send a client of mine an email saying the following: "We are writing to inform you that Bill.com is no longer able to offer services to xxxx based on a review of the account and activity. Your account has been deactivated and canceled. You will not be charged for any subscription fees for the current period. " Tried to follow up to get answers, no response, chat people just say they can't help. No explanations given. It allows the vendors to know when their payment is being processed as well which is a great plus. Just a bit lacking on the reporting side but that is not the main function and we have other tools to compensate. Overall great! Pros I use bill.com to book and pay accounts payable. One thing I really like is that you can send an invitation to your vendor and they can input their own bank information and upload a W-9 so it cuts down on errors. Pretty straight forward to use and navigate. Cons The reporting section is lacking.
