### "Less phone time and fun app"

It's been great. I feel like I can concentrate more on my job and it helps our receptionist and manager be able to communicate to our clients in a efficient manner.

Pros

This software has saved me so much time. With Reminders and reaching out to our clients it has saved us a ton of time. When I was doing reminders with snail mail it took me over 5 hours. Now with texting, emailing, and sending cards for us that is more time for me to do more necessary duties at the clinic. We are also able to double check phone numbers, emails, and contact information that petdesk alerts us before our clients come here. Our clients love the app to request RX refills and make appointments without even calling us on the phone. We can also send mass messages about Holiday closers and promotions we have coming up. We feel more connected to our clients now with Petdesk and that is important to us in the Veterinary Business.

Cons

understanding more about the stats and graphs with the program. I seem to ask everytime because I have to redefine the meaning of them.

Our overall experience with PetDesk has been very positive on both the client side and staff side. The majority of our clients seem to love it and the few that are not interested do not need to use it. Two way texting is amazing, especially since it uses your clinic phone number; clients don't need to remember a second number! It has all of the functions regular texting on a cellphone would have. The app is also great and has a lot of information for clients about their pets. Automated reminders have taken a lot of work away from our front desk and have driven our clients to schedule appointments when they are notified their pet is due. One thing negative I have to say is that if you have a patient where multiple people communicate with you under different numbers (such as a husband and wife) PetDesk will only recognize whichever number is keyed as the primary number for the client profile. I have been told they are working on changing that so hopefully there will be functionality for multiple phone numbers in the future. Another negative is that some settings can only be changed by PetDesk staff such as pushing a reminder at a certain time (appointment is on the schedule at 10am but you want the client there at 8am) or what types of appoinments get reminders. This is inconvenient when you need to change something on short notice and they are closed for a holiday. Those are the only two negatives so far, otherwise we have been really liking PetDesk.

While PetDesk is a helpful tool for our clinic, there are areas that could be improved. Greater customization for reminders, messaging templates, and reporting would make the platform more flexible for different workflows. Integration with additional practice management systems and clearer notification settings would also be beneficial. Expanding mobile app functionality for staff use could further streamline communication. Overall, it did the job of patient reminders and some basic messaging but wasn't worth it. I think for the amount we spent, we should have had a more robust system.

Pros

Convenient reminder system for pet parents. It was easy to learn and use. It also connected with our patient management system.

Cons

SO EXPENSIVE. For the cost, there are many alternatives that do the same work for far less. Also, they make it difficult to cancel.

Cons

Text syncing could use some work. When we sync text communications, it doesn't implement super well into our PIMS. The text is tiny and it syncs anything that has never been done, sometimes several days or months of communication.

Pet Desk has been great to consolidate communications with clients. Having online booking, texts, refill requests, and reminders all on one platform has helped streamline our client relationships.

Pros

What our facility likes best is appointment reminders going out automatically. It has saved our front desk team a lot of time, not having to manually call each client for a day of appointments.

Cons

When transferring a patient to a new client (change of owners), we have had some issues with reminders making it to the appropriate person. All has been resolved for now though, thanks to the customer service team.

Very positive! PetDesk is super user friendly, and has been very helpful with our client communications.

Pros

I like that we are able to view compliance reports directly in PetDesk, which actually makes it easier to view and use than our PMS does. Additionally, I like that we can mass message our clients for important clinic updates.

Cons

There is not anything I dislike about PetDesk, other than it would be helpful to be able to respond to client reviews.

PetDesk is great for the app. Needs a little work on the other side for the primary users as far as texting and things.

Pros

Owners being able to see all their meds for their pet and also their vaccine records as well.

Cons

On the vet side the users can not have their own to see when a client has messaged back. Everyone gets the same messages so no easy way to keep up with them.

PetDesk is a useful tool, but is quite expensive and leaves much to be desired. It ended up causing too many issues and the cons outweighed the benefits.

The reminder system and allowing clients to login to view their wellness reminders, get vaccine records, appointment requests and view upcoming appointments

Cons

It didn't sync seamlessly with practice software. If a client updated their email address, name or contact info, it would not transfer over to PetDesk. This was confusing for clients who would request we send reminders to a certain email address.

Thank you for syncing my app with my provider. \[sensitive content hidden\] , a Product Support Specialist, got everything synced for me after the provider tried but was unable to. I contacted them through their support email and got an immediate reply and it was fixed. Very appreciated!

Overall, it is a good experience. We use Petdesk all day, every day at our practice. The loyalty program we are able to offer is very popular. The customer service staff, as well as our direct rep are all very friendly/helpful.

Pros

The 2-way texting capability is a godsend. With more and more clients becoming driven by technology, this makes sending out all sorts of communications easier.

Cons

Being unable to edit client information as an admin. It would be helpful when a client's contact information changes, vs contacting Petdesk customer service.

Positive experience overall. The appointment reminder texts/emails have been outstanding. The reduction in no calls/no shows is super helpful, as well as the appointment confirmation reminders generating cancellations that are not last minute. This allows the clinic to make much better use of it's already stretched resources. I do like the provision of a company website, and I would like to do more customization with it in the near future.

Pros

The biggest selling point of PetDesk for my clinic was the automated due date and appointment reminders. We didn't have a large amount of no calls/no shows prior to PetDesk implementation, but now that we use PetDesk that number is the smallest is has ever been. Our no calls/no shows are in the single digits each week. No longer having to print out and stamp/mail hundreds of reminder postcards every month is another thing I will definitely not miss.

Cons

I wish there was a way to filter out or prevent certain kinds of appointment requests. For example, I manage a single doctor practice and this DVM has a MASSIVE clientele. He is booked out 1-2 weeks constantly. We ceased to take new clients a couple years ago in hopes that he could get his work load under control (still a work in progress). I get a large number of requests from new clients, and I have to turn them all away. I am not sure how such a feature would even be possible, but it would be nice if there was a way to only allow those with an existing record match to request appointments. The other gripe is similar to the first. I wish there was a way to prevent clients from requesting surgical appointments without first having a related exam/UTD vacs. It's a hassle to have to contact someone who has not had their pet in for an exam in 3 years and explain to them why we cannot simply schedule a dental, and then have to listen to the counterargument that if an exam is necessary, they should not have been able to request the surgery appointment as they did. Last complaint, and it is small. I wish the character limit outside of "direct messaging" was not so small. Having to find ways to summarize why I am suggesting alternative appointments to what the client requested in such a small number of characters is a hassle.

We love PetDesk at my clinic. It saves us time by having clients do simple requests. We found it to be crucial for our work flow.

Pros

Reminders for appointments and the ability for our clients to request refills and appointments with the app. It coordinates well with our core software and is very easy to use.

Cons

Reminders go out for appointments canceled one to two days before. I am also not a fan of if a client wants an appointment that’s not available, that there is not a please call our office feature only an alternative time and date feature. This would save us many calls and put it back on the client. Sometimes we can’t schedule things with the app and need to talk to the client.

Increased compliance from our clients due to the fact there are more ways they can contact us now. We also get the benefit of cutting back on some of our incoming calls now and can answer client requests (via the Pet Desk Dashboard) at a time that doesn't take away from our face-to-face interactions with customers in the clinic.

Pros

Our clients love that they can make appointments, refill meds and be reminded of appointments through their Pet Desk app. People lead busy lives and don't often have time to call our clinic during the day so using the Pet Desk app has been great for our customers. Our compliance with health service reminders has improved since now it is even easier to schedule visits with us. We also love that the clinic saves money on postage and reminder postcards because Pet Desk is able to send emails to the clients who prefer them, and send postcards to the rest. Most of our clients prefer email so there has been a great cost savings there. We now have an easy way to send messages to our clients as well as send mass emails to them when necessary. In addition to all of the great features Pet Desk has to offer we are also very happy with the customer service we receive from the Pet Desk team whenever we have questions.

Cons

So far we haven't found anything we don't like about the software. If we could change anything we would like to personalize the photos that our clients see when they land on a Pet Desk page from our website. For instance, when our clients (who are not app users) click to schedule an appointment from our website, we don't love the page they land on. We are a feline only practice and, although we love dogs too, would like to be able to choose a cat-only photo for this page.

Communication is key and with PetDesk we are able to communicate with our clients quickly and there is no "phone tag". This has saved our client relations team hours of phone time and they are able to give our clients that are in clinic more attention.

Pros

We had tried many different marketing programs to help ease the work load of our client service team as well as help drive appointments. PetDesk has been the best program to help us with it all. They helped us build a beautiful updated website and are able to make updates/changes quickly when we need them. The program helps with appointment confirmations, upcoming/past due reminders, mass emails, and text communications. My favorite part would be the personalized app. With today's technology, the new generations need an app for everything and the PetDesk app does it all. Clients can even request new appointments, cancel appointments and request medication refills directly through the app. They even enjoy the loyalty program. Our client relations team raves about how much time they have saved with the new form of communicating with our clients and how easy the dashboard is to use.

Cons

There are times when responding to clients through the dashboard we are limited on the amount of characters we can use. We always want to give the best customer service and with limited characters we have to cut it short.

PetDesk Support and Technical Team have implemented several of our requests to improve the program. Their customer service is second to none!! We have noticed a big decrease in the number of phone calls to the clinic and this allows us to process customer requests at our convenience. No longer do we feel the phone is the force that dictates our time. BIG WIN! Customers love it because they no longer forget to schedule appointments or request refills because they can do it while watching tv in the evenings.

Pros

From the very beginning, the PetDesk sales, implementation, and training team were amazing in getting us up and running. It was quick, efficient, and so easy to use right out of the gate. We noticed an amazing difference right away in a significant decrease in the number of "no-shows." Estimating that initially, PetDesk more than paid for itself through this decrease in lost revenue. The software is easy to access, easy to learn, and very user-friendly for staff and clients.

Cons

We purchased the texting option and the only negative we have found so far is the refresh rate (not instant).

Reason for choosing PetDesk

The sales team was able to answer all of our questions and recommendations from other veterinary users sealed the deal.

Overall I love the software. It makes my job easier, as well as my life as a pet parent.

Pros

It truly is an all in one platform. It does not replace the receptionist, but it absolutely helps them out. It is also a very straightforward tool for the customer.

Cons

Prescription requests needs little work. When a client requests a medication the only option is to alert them that it is ready. There needs to be a function to alert them that it has been declined, or is in progress.

Pros

Our CSR team gets a "break" from answering the phones while our clients schedule online! We love having such an easy option for our ever growing millennial pet owners!

Cons

We would love to see more functionality for appt. scheduling. It would be great to be able to set up different appts. with different guidelines. For example, our wellness exams book out between 4-6 wks. and we would like to be able to restrict clients from requesting them prior to with a nice note that explains why. We would also love to be able to have appts. on our schedule that are tagged in a way that doesn't allow a follow up survey. This would apply to boarders who are in clinic. It's unfortunate that these clients get a follow up survey when their pets are still in our care. As you can imagine, they get quite alarmed by this. Another great option would be extending the client reply box. Our team often finds themselves replying to clients in a separate email to discuss upcoming services that are due etc. vs just simply replying through PetDesk.

PetDesk has put us on the Google map! The reviews generated by PetDesk prompts and the client feedback we receive via the admin dashboard have been invaluable customer satisfaction tools. I appreciate this as a business owner.

Pros

PetDesk has simplified our reminders system. Previously our staff spent valuable work hours printing and stamping postcards, calling clients to schedule and confirm appointments, and documenting these communications in our software system. We have been able to regain hours of time with PetDesk. Clients appreciate being able to see their pets' medical records and to request appointments through the app.

Cons

There are so many areas for customization that some items need trial and error to get right. This isn't necessarily a con but realize that it may take time to create a fit that works for your clinic.

Pros

Great program that allows ease of use with customer database software. Great for sending mass messages to clients and does pretty well with integration for reminders. I love the overdue reminder/client compliance interface. And the clinical analytics is great. Also offer telehealth if needed.

Cons

Not as up to date as some other software offered. The main feature I wished they had was quick access outside of the clinic to the full daily schedule of clients and appointments and could push information to the days schedule of any changes.

The app allows clients to confirm appointments or make changes directly from their smartphones and is easier to use than a web browser would be. You are able to set email reminders to be sent out at a certain frequency allowing for time to be saved in many areas.

Pros

This software allows you to set the level and method of reminders that you would like to be sent out consistently saving time for receptionists as we no longer have to call about appointment reminders or manually send emails or alerts.

Cons

The only downside to this system is that not everyone appreciates the constant reminders, especially if they are still coming from other methods as well. Because I usually still call to remind clients of appointments, some have noted that they receive too many reminders. There is also a certain demographic that frequents our hospital that doesn't understand how to use the software and though we do offer help in learning, some people are resistant.
