It was a game changer when it first came on the scene and continues to be the right choice for our company. Pros The integration with our POS system is invaluable. Not having to enter daily sales is a huge time saver! Its integration with FinTech bringing in alcohol invoices is also a great feature that saves a lot of time Cons The interface is a little outdated on the invoicing side and adding a new vendor is always a headache where the first invoice or two is missed and it requires lots of extra steps compared to other systems we use / have used for similar functions. It's now part of toast, which has shown a desire (and results) to improve all aspects of itself. Pros The UI was a bit outdated at the beginning with great functionality. With the new UI update, xtrachef is easier to use and navigate. Having everything integrated with toast is great. Cons xtrachef can be a bit slow at times to load data. It seems to depend on who on the xchef side enters invoices and how much experience they have deciphering them if they are entered correctly. I have had "order summary" entered as an item purchased. Pros I like that it tracks pricing, maps the products, and is a great tool to see where your costs go. Cons I wish we could have had more training, our restaurant opened much later that expected and the attitude regarding training was \[sensitive content hidden\] Reasons for choosing xtraCHEF It is a part of Toast POS system. Pros This could be a great system- invoices, inventory recipes and costing all in one place means up to date menu data at your fingertips. Cons Everyone who uses this software spend a large portion of their day watching a spinning wheel on the screen as it struggles to load information- and often it times out before the information even gets there. The invoice management has issues as well, including invoices not being read correctly and lack of fixes from the support team at xtrachef.
