We have been using it for a few years and really love the products we purchase but mostly love the quick support that they provide.

Pros

We have been using Pikmykid for student dismissal for a few years and love how easy it is to use and how quickly we can contact Pikmykid for great support in the moment. We have recently expanded our purchases with them to include visitor management and attendance and could not be happier with the product for student management! Pikmykid provides a great value for our budget!

Cons

We would love it if they integrated with our SIS, schooltool with more ease, especially with attendance.

I have been very happy with this product. PikMyKid has increased our safety and efficiency during dismissal.

Pros

PikMyKid has not only decreased the overall amount of time our dismissal team spends on getting our students safely to cars, it has increased our accuracy in dismissal plan communication. Our dismissal time prior to PikMyKid was about 23 minutes, this includes classroom communication, organization of a dismissal room and walking students out to cars or signing parents into the building. Our current, daily time averages 12 mins. in total.

Cons

This program does have a fairly step learning curve for both parents and the dismissal team. It requires a significant investment in WiFi by the district as well.

Pros

Pikmykid app has streamlined our parent pick up system during a pandemic. We needed a safe and reliable way to get students to their parents/guardians quickly because of the large number of students being picked up in the short time. I am thankful we have this program in place.

Cons

The software doesn't constantly link with our opperating system and so we have to manually enter new students. I think it would also be easier for the system to already have the next student number in place so that we don't have keep track of the next students number.

We have been using PikMyKid for over 3 years. We have enjoyed our experience. I love that if I have any issues, their support team has fast response times and help in a timely matter.

Pros

I love how seamlessly we were able to incorporate it into our dismissal. Parents love the real time bus departures, and it makes for a much smoother and calmer dismissal.

Cons

We don't utilize everything that PikMyKid has to offer such as, syncing absent students, we do that manually. The process to have our systems link and set up always seem complicated when I do reach out.

Fantastic! It has made dismissal so much smoother and easier for our teachers to keep track of dismissal changes.

Pros

It has sped up dismissal time 40 minutes to less than 10 mins for almost 500 students.

Cons

That parents who have not changed their child to car line can still be manually added to car line with no pop up letting the person outside know that child wasn't scheduled for pick up.

Pros

It gives us a reliable platform that we can completely control to help manage the dismissal of the 534 birth through 5-year-old children we serve. It is also a reliable platform for parents to delegate alternative pick-up guardians for their children.

Cons

Our parents have had intermittent issues with their apps randomly not allowing them to log in. I can usually guide them through a workaround for this issue, but it is a multi-step process and inconvenient during pick-up.

Our experience with Pikmykid has been overwhelmingly positive. Both the customer support and the dashboard are helpful and responsive, often updating to offer new features to meet the changing needs of our school. We use the dismissal system and the hall pass system at our school.

Pros

Pikmykid allows all of our students to stay in their classroom with their teacher until their ride has arrived at school. Previously we moved students to two holding areas during dismissal, which meant ending the instructional day earlier for the transition and created behavior management issues with large numbers of students waiting in the same space for up to 30 minutes until a ride arrived. As a lottery based enrollment school, the large majority of our almost 700 students are car riders. Pikmykid transformed our dismissal and our days end in a more peaceful and organized manner as students dismiss from their classrooms each afternoon.

Cons

Occasionally poor internet or technology issues create challenges during dimissal, but that has been infrequent.

Very positive! I don't know how we would do car rider dismissal without it. Our internet was down the first two weeks of school and the teachers had a hard time without Pikmykid.

Pros

Pikmykid is easy for all stakeholders to use. Teachers rely on the dismissal progress to know when to send our car riders to the front. Parents rely on the app to get through the pick up line quickly and efficiently. Students know to look for their names on the teachers' screens to move to the front for dismissal. It is a great program!

Cons

I wish that Pikmykid allowed parents to change from one bus to another, but I understand that the bus drivers need to have a written note of transportation changes. I also wish that parents would update when the student is with the non-custodial parent. Keeping up with which parent has custody of the child on a weekly basis is exhausting.

PikMyKid has been a pleasure to work with and their customer service is outstanding!

Pros

PikMyKid helped streamline our dismissal process. Those picking up our students are easily identifiable and we can ensure we are sending students home with whom they are supposed to go home with. Parents enjoy the notifications they receive when their student is picked up. The teachers and staff enjoy the fact that we are no longer using paper and pencil and that the person picking up and the time of pick up is automatically recorded rather than having to check what time it is and record it manually.

Cons

We are still exploring the capabilities of PikMyKid, but it would be nice to see more integration with the FACTS system. If there was a way to pull information from the FACTS system and then report back to the FACTS system (specifically for attendance) that would help garner more use from the teachers.

My overall experience has been great. Customer support can not always answer the question, but otherwise it is a great tool for us!

Pros

PikmyKid is easy for staff to use and does a great job for tracking dismissal. Parents are able to change their student's dismissal and teachers are able to see it right away. With PikmyKid students are not waiting outside to be dismissed and can avoid all kinds of weather. Teachers are able to work with students through dismissal because they are notified in their classroom. The best part about PMK is it is easy to use and makes school management efficient.

Cons

I would like it to be easier for parents to add their child at the beginning of the school year. Even with the directions, it is sometimes difficult for a parent to understand.

Our overall experience has been good with PikMyKid. It took a bit to get into the swing of it, but once we did it has helped a lot. The feature that allows the parents to change their child's mode of transportation has been a favorite for the front office staff. Being able to keep the students in the classroom until it's time for them to be dismissed has been a tremendous help for social distancing. One major improvement that we would like to see would be to easily identify a transportation change in the dismissal progress page. Some suggestions would be to highlight the student's name, or have an icon showing the change (example: car -> walker). Having the transportation changes EASILY identifiable on the dismissal progress page would be the biggest help that PikMyKid could offer.

Pros

We have only used this program for car riders, as the other transportation modes haven't been implemented. We love how fast it makes our car rider dismissal go. PikMyKid has helped a lot with phone management in the front office because the parents can make the transportation changes on their end. This system is also very helpful in social distancing since the teachers hold the students in their classroom until their parents are at the school to pick them up. Once we were able to get past the learning curve the system worked very well. However, the learning curve took a bit longer than expected though.

Cons

We have struggled with EASILY identifying transportation changes on the classroom/teacher side of this program. We eventually were told of a report that could be set up and sent to the teachers so they could see transportation changes. Before we were told about this, the one screen the teachers worked off of was not clear as to who had a transportation change for that particular day. We continue to struggle with getting accurate transportation change updates. The app and/or website doesn't always work during dismissal time.

### "It's getting us through Covid...!"

It is challenging to feel the need to "micromanage" everyone to this degree...but that is not PMK's problem... Drop off works, and it helps us know that parents have had to communicate with us about their child's health that day. And Pick up goes smoothly, kids are not wandering the halls because they know that their ride is waiting for the, Admin are looking for them at the front of the campus, and their teacher will not release them until they know that is the case.

Pros

It keeps cars in the parking flowing fairly consistently, we can quickly see who is on campus, and who saw them and marked them Present. Teachers all over the campus can see when to dismiss a specific kid. Parents are notified when their child is released from school.

Cons

There are always a few parents who struggle with technology...and trying to help them...but life is challenging right now and we're trying to make as much of life work as possible... (((sigh))) One of my major dislikes with PMK is the fact that despite the fact that specific students are checked in the Live Dismissal Progress numbers are always inaccurate. Ours always says there are 387 kids needing to be dismissed, but that is the total number of students we have in the PMK system - not the total that we checked into the campus that morning. Is there a setting that we need to change to have that be accurate?! This aspect feels strange to me, because the whole point of the Check In process is to know exactly who is on campus. So, at what point does the system throw all students in as if they are all on campus?

It's taken the guess work out of dismissal for our staff. Teachers know exactly where their student will go at the end of the day which allows us to dismiss 500 students to their guardian in less than 30 minutes.

Cons

As a user, I don't like that I can't make an update for my family. We have three children and logging in to make the same update for each one is time consuming.

Pikmykid has definitely stream lined our dismissal process. We have much fewer incidents of children being in the wrong place at the end of the day. Our teachers have a way of verifying who should be in their bus line, in real time. The office has a way of checking for changes for all classes, at any given time.

Pros

The software has dramatically reduced the number of phone calls we field in regards to dismissal, especially at the end of the day. The parents really appreciate the ability to make changes at any time right from their phone, or from work, without having to make a call to our office.

Cons

I don't like that if a student moves out of the district and I delete the student from the system, and then the student returns to the district and I have to enter them as a new student - instead of just reactivating them from a stored data base.

On the staff side, very user friendly. Much better than walkies and overhead announcements.

Cons

While the customer satisfaction reps are GREAT, I wish there was a way to upload corrections to the database. I also wish that rather than using their generated "School ID Number", that the primary key for students was the actual student number issued by the state.

We do have the ability for schools to use their own ID numbers for students, but mostly recommend against it for security purposes (used in the app for pick up, can be displayed on car-tags for quick lookup etc) and also length of numbers could effect efficiency in some cases during dismissal. ### "Safe & Smooth"

Feedback, assistance, and check-ins from PikMyKid stay has been incredible. Every year we prepare and maintain our portal with great accuracy and this enabled a much safer and efficient dismissal process than years past when we were without PikMyKid and dismissal was chaotic.

Pros

Being able to assign each student a number and the ability for parents to access the information for their child ensures a very safe and smooth process. We are assured that students are being picked up by authorized individuals and dismissal p are accurate up to the day and times.

Cons

We are a school that offers after-school clubs so we actually have 3 different dismissal times. We have had some difficulties with parents being able to announce and for school personnel being able to dismiss students from the system as dismissal schedules can be complex.

### "Easy to implement, easy to sustain"

Pros

Roll-out was stress-free. PikMyKid had prepared videos and PDFs to train both faculty and parents on how to use it. I spent zero time creating how-to documents! PikMyKid offers the ability to have a Spanish translation. The product is quite customizable! You can customize the alerts the teachers receive, the alerts that go home to parents (I especially love the notification for parents who have not yet filled out the morning health screener!), the check-in questions, and more! PikMyKid support has been super helpful and timely in their responses to both me and and the parents at my school.

Cons

We did encounter a few mistakes with student grades/phone numbers from the file we sent for PikMyKid to upload. While it was only a few students, we didn't know about it until it was in front of us and a problem. However, they were quick, easy fixes. The check-in feature is not that intuitive. After clicking the blue "check-in" button, then the parent has to also click the check mark by their child's name. Most parents think the check mark just means that they checked in successfully.

Pros

For us, Pikmykid provided the school the ability to track when parents arrive on campus to pick up their children and seamlessly alert the teacher. This help to expedite our dismissal process as well as increase its efficiency.

Cons

The ability to manage parent data is cumbersome. Many issues that arise that have to be resolved require going through Pikmykid customer service when I wish we could resolve them ourselves.

PIKMYKID is a great support for HCS students and staff. It keep our students safe, allows parents to remain out of our building and allows dismissal to happen in about five minutes. Prior to the implementation of PIKMYKID it took us about 30 minutes for dismissal and we often had many adults in our building and often did not know who was picking up students. We are grateful for the security features PIKMY KID allows us to have in place.

Other than the cons listed above, it's been wonderful.

Pros

The arrival and dismissal process is a dream compared to our previous system. It's very easy for parents to change who is picking up their child and makes it a lot easier to verify that person when they arrive for dismissal.

Cons

The Check-In process is confusing for new users. Our first few days were a lot of parents thinking that pushing the button for dismissal meant they checked in for arrival. I think the check-in button needs to be more obvious. Also we have some students who do not use aftercare every day so we're having to manually enter those students to car line dismissal on those days. There may be a way to fix this but we haven't figured it out yet.

Reason for choosing Pikmykid

The detail of the app and program was more in line with what we were needing, mainly the Covid precautions. The other detail was an added bonus that fits how we run our school and the best student management.

I LOVE PikMyKid! Once our data was uploaded, we rolled out the program in stages, but quickly. Our first dismissal took us almost an hour because parents were so resistant and we were still figuring it out. Now that parents have accepted that this is the way we do dismissal, and they have realized how easy it is to make thier own changes as opposed to calling the office, things are running smoothly. We dismiss our entire school of 450 kids, buses AND car line, in 15 minutes! There is no more congregating in the halls or outside and the parents and staff are thrilled with the program!

Pros

The ease of implementation and use is the best thing about this software. I was nervous about the rollout, since we do have teachers who are "techno-phobic" but it was soooooo easy to explain. Even the data upload was easier than I thought it would be. 5 stars for user-friendliness.

Cons

The only thing that we wish we could do is release the kids twice. In other words, release them early from school to go to a basketball game and then release them again to their parents AFTER the game.

Pros

I was amazed at how convenient this was to implement. Adding new student information was also convenient. Parents appreciated using the APP to assign different pickup options. The teachers are able to see on their screens who is on campus before sending the students out to the pickup lane to be picked up. Thank you for the Stop Sign! It works great! It is a good reminder to parents to check-in.

Cons

There are a few things that would be useful. The ability to change the pickup time for the early dismissals earlier than the day of. A calendar where all the dismissal times could be put in for the year and then changed back the following day would be wonderful. Another change would be the ability to add more families to the active line. Another recommendation I have is to make the print darker. It is difficult to read the student names etc. The print is very light.
