We looked at a number of similar products and following a short trial it was clear that was a good fit for our needs. Staff appreciated the ease in setting up agendas and by including recommendations in the agenda minute taking is very easy. Board members appreciate the ease of use, consistency and accountability. Meetings are much easier to chair and the ability to have multiple administrators collaborating on the agenda preparation is a great feature - I love it! Pros It was easy to set up, easy to use and the price is extremely reasonable. Cons None issues to date. Staff are helpful and prompt to reply. Reason for choosing BoardPro Price, features, and the ability to trial it and roll into a full user was great and very seamless. Agenda and Minutes are easy to manipulate and edit as necessary. So easy to send info and reminders on to the Board through the email process Pros Easy access to files and documents. Everything in the one place. Can be shared during hui so everyone has the same information in front of them and not busy looking for it. The programme is self explanatory and Help access is quick and efficient when needed. Setting it up to meet our Board's needs has so far been an easy process. Cons At this stage I don't really have Cons as I am still learning about all the features though finding out the programme we have bought doesn't provide all the features we thought it had was annoying as spent alot of time looking for them! March 12, 2023 5.0 I think the customer service and overall experience with BoardPro is great. I would definitely recommend it to any business looking for a good value for money option. Excellent functionality and affordable enough to convince your CEO that the software is good value. Pros BoardPro is a fantastic product. I like the functionality of the software in that the minutes integrate actions and decisions directly into each register. The documents also look great. They aren't too clunky and they are laid out nicely. Cons I think the security settings could definitely be improved. Quite often there are papers that I would only like for the Board to see but I can't lock them down by individual paper and so I have to limit executive access to all papers and / or run a separate set of papers to remove the confidential papers. I also think that you should be able to add a paper under an agenda item instead of having to create another agenda item below as sometimes it will duplicate. For example, it would be great to drop the CEO's Report under a CEO section item rather than having to drop it down into e.g. 1.1. Board members appreciate the Board packs that are compiled at the touch of a button and are easy to navigate and having everything recorded in one place means it's easy to search for past decisions/resolutions and topics in the papers with the powerful search function. Cons The only challenges I have experienced are with some Board members who are not particularly tech savvy, but the Help system is very comprehensive and can usually overcome any obstacle. The few times I've needed help, the customer service team is the best I've ever worked with...not just for Board platforms either. Pros I love BoardPro! It's so nice to have a centralised place for our Board to access their agendas, board papers, calendar appointments, links for digital meetings, interest register, etc. As the Board secretary I found it easy to navigate and figure out on my own (although their customer service is the best I've ever received for any online platform I've used...not just in the board platform space either!). Taking minutes is easy, recording decisions and assigning actions is a breeze - and if I make a mistake, the roll back minutes feature is brilliant as I can roll back to a previous save point. We looked at several other Board platform options and the price point is very affordable in comparison. We've now expanded to include some of our sub-committees and it's a great feature to have access to. Cons The only branding item our comms team has asked for is to be able to upload our brand font so that PDFs that are exported are in our font - but that's not a huge priority for us. The functionality for the Board and myself (Board secretary) is so impressive. Pros BoardPro offers great features aside from the traditional word processing options that money conscious charities usually default to. I especially appreciate the agenda setting, document upload, personal mark ups/notes and automatic minutes features. It was an easy (and very welcome) transition from using MS Word. Cons It would be great if BoardPro could have any audio/video capture feature to record the meeting and mark that recording with headings. We have looked into software that could facilitate this function, but it would be better if it was part of our Board management software.You could also add "digital signatures" so that appropriate users could login and digitally sign off the minutes. November 22, 2017 4.0 Pros The time saved and the ease of preparing agendas and minutes. And a system to keep track of the actions is great. We used to do all of that manually so we're streets ahead of where we were. We set up 4 new subcommittees this year so having BoardPro has been hugely helpful. Initially, there was a steady stream of minor and major bugs/teething problems but those are steadily being worked through. I find that I don't need to get in touch with the Help Desk as often and clearly things are working well for us. Another great BoardPro feature is the ability to access it so readily from any of your electronic devices and from any location. I’m an administrator so I can complete an agenda at work or at home and, later, access the minutes to work on and simply pick up from where I left off. And my colleagues can be working on it at the same time too. Cons Initially, there was a steady stream of minor and major bugs/teething problems, but I have to say those are steadily being worked through. I still get frustrated that there's no Undo button when I'm typing the minutes straight into BoardPro - I've lost work several times due to hitting the wrong area of the touch pad, which is a real pain. Ultimately, its important that our governors are happy with the software. They readily express their frustrations if they're unhappy, e.g. the page numbering in the board packs - the minutes have one set of numbering and the board packs have another. They also get confused about the different action points lists - in a board pack, there's a list of actions raised in the meeting at the end of the previous minutes (very useful). Then there's a list of actions reviewed in this meeting, plus an Action Item List. I don't clearly understand the distinction and if I'm not clear then I can't explain it and the governors start talking about other software options. That's not in my interest as I've invested lots of time and effort in getting BoardPro to work for us. For me, the action item reminders to owners are great. Because owners don't always react to their actions, (tongue in cheek), it would be good if it incorporated a graphic like a time bomb going off under a chair. Pros I was a new user to Boardpro 18 months ago and found the support to be extremely helpful and the response times quick. I found the programme was easy to navigate and user friendly. Since I have started using BoardPro I have introduced another client to it and they have purchased it based on their own research and my recommendation. The set up was easy and the client is very happy with the training links. The previous platform I was using was outdated and clunky. Pros Very easy to use from setting up meetings, building agenda and adding documents. Cons 1\. There is no facility to restrict meetings to attendees only, ie. Board committee time. We have a monthly board committee meeting, but there is no facility to restrict minutes, documents and discussion to the board only. Senior management can also access these documents. As a workaround, I must capture these discussions via Word or another software. 2. There is no option for members to "share" their notes or questions before the meeting.
