### "Great for Apple Device Management"

December 11, 2023

5.0

Deployment and setup was very quick and easy. We only use for iPads and Apple TV's and I am easily able to manage there without any major issues.

Pros

Exceptional ease of use. I think the interface is very user friendly. Device enrollment, app deployment and updates is very simple. If I encounter an issue, the customer service is also very exceptional.

Cons

Really the only two dislikes I have is the apps not updating with me forcing the update and the price. We are not a large company with under 300 iPads/Apple TV's deployed, but the price is a bit much. The cost/benefit ration is not there.

Reason for choosing Jamf Pro

The ease of setup and use was what we needed at the time of deployment. We needed something rather quickly and jamf fit the bill. Grant the cost was a bit more, but we do like the options we have.

### "Apple hardware management made easy"

January 8, 2026

5.0

Jamf Made Ipad/macbook management simple for deployment to classes and installing volume licenses. It also made tracking devices easy. we could locate ones still in the building or find ones that were stolen

Pros

I could make an install package based on what has changed. this means I could install apps, change settings, add or remove files and make a deplorable package file easy

Cons

We only used it for apple products. We had to use other product for windows and chromebooks. This isn't really a problem with Jamf, it just that we had to use several MDM suites

### "IT & Process Manager"

March 20, 2026

1.0

Waste of time and money, get Iru/Kandji instead if you want to have a clean and easy setup without tons of scripts and unnecessary workarounds. Their migration tool is great.

Pros

I didn't really like it because standard functions that every company needs where a total pain to setup and the documentation is behind a paywall aka courses.

Cons

Standard functions like auto-updates, self-service, auto-download apps when an employee opens the laptop for the first time, the dock configuration needing an extra script, ALL needed a bunch of scripts, workarounds and it's just a waste of time. Customer support needs ages to answer and if they do they refer you to some random article.

### "Good MDM Option"

January 9, 2026

5.0

Overall it has been positive. It is a good service for us, and it has worked well. I was thrown into a project with having to use Jamf Pro and having zero knowledge of it. I was able to quickly pick it up and become successful with it.

Pros

Jamf Pro is easy to use and easy to implement. Their Customer Support is great. They have great Device Management, and seem to be a good value for money.

Cons

A bit of a learning curve at first. But after you get the basics down, it is easy to get familiar with all the other parts of it.

### "Jamf makes Apple device management easy"

December 13, 2024

5.0

Jamf is superb value for money and probably the best MDM solution we have tried over the years.

Pros

Jamf has enabled us to manage out fleet of staff and student Macs with ease, offering super support for day-1 features every year, and smoothing out all sorts of device restriction/interaction scenarios, along with app deployment

Cons

The interface was a little clunky at the start, and we had some teething issues with device connectivity, but these issues have all gone away in recent times.

### "MSP Managers Honest Review"

January 12, 2026

3.0

Coming from Meraki MDM Jamf was a totally different experience. Its hard to use, complicated to understand and requires a lot of background in development to understand.

Pros

I like how easy it is to onboard a new computer through JAMF. We use HTML onboarding and with the click of a button a clients computer/tablet/phone is onboarded.

Cons

I dislike the interface, navigating the interface, and honestly finding anything. It makes it almost impossible to be an admin of the platform without a certification or some background in dev work.

### "Excellent Apple-centric MDM"

February 23, 2026

5.0

Overall, Jamf Pro is a great tool to manage Apple devices. There are a few zones where it could be improved and the team are hopefully working on them. Their support team is, however, always fast to answer and they provide great help.

Pros

Jamf Pro is a powerful tool when it comes to manage Apple devices, whether they are laptops of mobile phones/tablets. It offers all sorts of controls and streamlines deployment of Configuration Profiles or Policies. Their API, though a bit cumbersome as it's divided in two versions (Legacy and Pro) allows for automations of almost all aspects of the platform.

Cons

Some part of the interface are a bit dated and lacks flexibility. Feature requests around these issues are not always acknowledged despite them being sometimes opened for years.

### "Industry Standard for Managing Apple Devices"

July 30, 2025

4.0

Pros

This platform offers excellent integration with Apple devices and simplifies daily administrative tasks once it is fully configured.

Cons

Jamf Pro offers powerful capabilities however, user experience could be improved and in the future perhaps it can multi-tenant support where you can replicate a tenant to another which can potentially be useful for when company mergers happen.

### "Best in class for Apple Device Management"

March 6, 2026

5.0

Pros

We use Jamf at our company to help manage all of our Apple devices, specifically Macbooks. It helps our IT team streamline the laptop software and setting updates across all laptops.

Cons

Jamf is specific to Apple products only so you will need to find another solution if you have windows/PC.

### "Good once set up"

January 16, 2026

3.0

Not quite as simple as expected, but still a good product for the end user once initiated. Ultimately the value for money will depend on use. For us, a better solution would have been a more centralised approach.

Pros

Once setup it gives a clear visual overview of your devices and it is easy to push out updates, and permissions.

Cons

Some of the setup and integration was a bit tricky. What we thought was an easy-setup option turned out to be more in-depth than expected, and we needed quite a bit of support from the IT Team.

### "Jamf Pro makes Apple device management easy."

November 28, 2025

5.0

Pros

Jamf Pro handled device management smoothly, especially for Macs. Deployments, updates, and security policies felt effortless, and it saved a lot of time managing development machines.

Cons

Some actions take a few extra clicks compared to what I expected. The learning curve can be noticeable in the first days, but it becomes intuitive once the structure clicks.

### "peace of mind"

5.0

It has made life much easier without having a pile of phones and tablets that became expensive paper weights.

Pros

The ability to view the product info, who its assigned to, and what update the system is on while still keeping overall control if password is changed.

Cons

Doesn't always want to connect to the device and push the updates as needed or connect with adding new devices.

### "Good Apple device management tool"

July 17, 2024

4.0

Pros

Being specifically tailored for Apple devices, it ensures a full compatibility with these devices and optimal functionality. It is complete and offers scalability and automation features, making the human job quicker and easier. It has a user-friendly interface, allowing to understand quickly what is the status of the device environment.

Cons

Its initial setup management is quite time and resource consuming, but it is normal if you adopt it in a large environment. Being Apple centric, on the other hand, even if it allows this full compatibilty makes it not always adoptable in any company, which may have not only apple devices in its environment.

### "Jamf is a growing company with a great product and amazing support, really listen to customers!"

August 2, 2017

5.0

I could not do my job without this software. We are very limited in staff, time and money. Without Jamf Pro, we would not be able to effectively manage the fleet of iPads, MacBooks, iMacs and Apple TVs we have.

Pros

Jamf is a growing company with a great product and amazing support, really listens to customers! Pros: Jamf has been doing this the longest when it comes to Mac and iOS device management. They are a relatively small, yet growing company with Midwest values, that really cares about helping organizations succeed with Apple. They stand behind their product and their support is phenomenal! They are passionate about giving back to the communities they are based in (Chippewa Valley, Minneapolis, and offices around the world). They put on the worlds largest user conference for Apple IT admins and they have the largest user help knowledge base, jamfnation.com. They also provide same day or prior support of major OS and iOS releases. They are constantly refining the product and adding new features to it. If you have an issue, Jamf support will bend over backwards to help you, even if you're not a paying customer. They care that much about you and the product. Also, the soon to be released version 10 will bring many needed changes to the UI.

Cons

Jamf Pro is not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. For instance it allows me to manage 6k+ iPads and over 2200 Macs, iMacs and Apple TVs with a very small staff. The money we pay for the solution is more than made up in the ability to manage all of these devices successfully and with a limited staff. That being said, like all software, Jamf Pro has issues. Sometimes these can be major issues. However, Jamf is quick to throw dedicated support at these issues and works hard to fix them. As mentioned above, they are growing for sure and there will be some growing pains along with this growth. The update to the UI cannot come fast enough. Would like to actually be able to pull usable metrics and reports from the product. The logging errors could use more of an update or hotlinks to resolutions (feature request maybe?), but this is more for on-prem hosting. Overall though, it's a great product with a great company and team behind it!

### "Gold Standard for Apple MDM"

September 7, 2021

5.0

Pros

Jamf Pro allows my team to manage our fleet for macOS, iPadOS, and iOS devices effectively. It builds on the groundwork laid by Apple, but executes it in a much more useful manner. The tool allows our users to be self-sufficient when it comes to application updates and installations because we are able to present a SelfService application with IT-approved and packaged software. We're able to use JamfPro to conduct audits on logged on users and time frames whe necessary. Enrolling new devices is seamless when paired with Apple School Manager (education) or Apple Business Manager (enterprise) and the Device Enrollment Program (DEP). Cloud hosted is the way to go with any MDM, allowing devices to reach out to the server anywhere from the Internet.

Cons

The amount of work to deploy and make the product useful is a bit overwhelming. The company is constantly in a process of moving from their legacy Casper platform to the newer JamfPro platform, all while acquiring new components and rebranding them (JamfNow). Applications that were used to interact with the server are being retired, but not all at the same time, so there is a bit of confusion here. Also, I wish there was an easier and less time-consuming way of standing this up, as well as some pre-built tools.

### "JAMF is essential for Device Management"

February 24, 2023

5.0

JAMF makes is so easy to manage our Apple devices and keep them secure and compliant. This really helps us ensure Apple devices can easily integrate in our Microsoft Active Directory Domain. The integration with third party vendors really makes it a pleasure to use this.

Pros

The overall ease of use makes JAMF really pleasant to work with. We can deploy configurations and compliance policies very easily and this ensures our Apple devices are always secure and compliant.

Cons

At this point we do not think there is anything JAMF can improve on, they do already have so many great features.

### "Jamf @ UCLA Library"

August 5, 2020

5.0

Our Macs were largely unmanaged before Jamf, and now we have a good handle on everything and are able to provide a level of support that was impossible before. It's allowed us to not worry (as much) about what device people choose to use for work. It's also allowed flexibility when purchasing new devices for different purposes. If it's made by Apple, we know we can handle it.

Pros

The completeness of features - just about anything you can do with an Apple device, you can do with Jamf. I don't have to worry about not being able to do something, including on the day new software is released.

Cons

The learning curve is high - I would be struggling if I hadn't taken the Jamf training courses (200 and 300). I struggle to explain concepts to employees that haven't taken the training, even when they've taken the Jamf 100. Sort of related is the support for legacy features/systems - it can be hard to tell what is relevant, such as when you type 'sudo jamf help' - there is a lot there that you'd never use.

Reason for choosing Jamf Pro

It was clear that Jamf was the frontrunner, and I was lucky in that no one forced me to create a detailed product comparison. They understood the need and didn't have a problem with Jamf. If they did have a problem, I'm sure it would have been with price.

### "Fantastic MDM for Apple OS and IOS Devices"

July 13, 2018

5.0

Ease of use, customization and customer support are the best. This product was designed for Apple products and that is where is shines.

Pros

What I love most about Jamf is the ease of use. The first couple of iterations while workable, did not do what we needed in the education field. What was the saving grace, was the customer support. They came up with work arounds for us until IOS 10 hit. This makes adding software to our district IPads a snap as well as policies for the student use. As for support, I ALWAYS get someone who contacts me within a couple of hours of submitting a ticket.

Cons

My main problem is that there is no find my device or location tracking as with other MDM's. We have thousands of student IPads and a lot of disappearing on a daily basis. This would be a great feature to have.

### "Pretty good management system for Macs. Don't even consider LANDesk."

August 2, 2017

5.0

Because it is a MDM solution that actually works, with reliable uptime and easy maintenance requirements, I am the hero for having pushed for JAMFPro.

Pros

Fairly easy to figure out what it takes to make it work if you are of average intelligence for this sort of thing. In my case, it was difficult, until I figured it out. Patch management was the priority for us and it turns you have to be a little creative in trying to get the information extracted from the Macs (depending on the application) in order to determine if it needs to be patched. In another words, it's not as turnkey as much as I was led to believe. Support at JAMFNation is fantastic. Those folks have tackled most of the problems and that's where I located the scripts and other nuances required to make it work. No other resource like it. Newbies and super rockstars all contribute to make things work. JAMF staff also helpful. Make sure you contribute too!

Cons

For me personally, the required Jumpstart training you need to purchase didn't work so well. Did not know enough about what I was doing to ask intelligent questions. After the training, fighting the learning curve began. There are no step-by-step procedures (or friendly user manual) to help a newbie get the system up and running. Mind you I say this as a complete novice and not a very smart one at that.

### "The premiere Apple device management solution"

October 19, 2021

5.0

As my review title says, Jamf pro is the premiere application for managing Apple devices, second to none. The support and community alone put it above the competition in my opinion.

Pros

The builtin capabilities of Jamf Pro, combined with the flexible API and strong community make it the ideal tool for managing Apple devices. The support is top notch, and they are always adding value to the product.

Cons

I have not encountered any issues that Jamf support hasn't been able to resolve.

Reason for choosing Jamf Pro

Jamf is simply the better product for our Apple devices, as we do not need a single pane of glass solution.

Jamf has allowed my team and me to raise our level of customer assistance and machine management. Since we first integrated it, it has made quick ease of processes and asset management.

Pros

I like how it allows us to view which machines are in need of updates, what updates crashed, as well as the ability to manage machine inventory. All these features and a clean interface make it easy to navigate.

Cons

Although this may be centralized to a few issues, at times the synchronization seems to be delayed compared to ServiceNow.

### "The best for Apple device management"

October 1, 2018

4.0

It is the best out there for Apple MDMs. That said, the field is still pretty bad. Not all of the issues are with Jamf, as Apple has certainly bungled a few things, like Apple School Manager. But if you're committed to the Apple way of life, Jamf is absolutely the only way to go, and has certainly made things easier on me since we switched from a competitor.

Pros

It does everything you need it to in terms of managing whatever you buy from Apple, with a focus on as much automation for mass deployment as possible. Since they focus on Apple, they have all the latest features available as soon as possible.

Cons

When things break, they can break badly, and a lot of solutions involve running command line scripts and requesting service restarts from support, so if you aren't willing to dig into these sorts of things, it might be difficult for you when support gives you this type of solution. Also, their marketing can be very deceptive, with their analysis on costs phrased as to make apples-to-oranges comparisons and obfuscate their competition's benefits.
