Freelance Translator Writing and Editing Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Mostly very decent" August 16, 2023 4.0 I'm merely using it as an end-user and I do feel like it benefits me to easily contribute to translations and also to keep things tight with team management. Pros Team management is good. Free-for-all, like on Weblate, doesn't always lead to better translation. In fact, it usually leads to worse translations. So having teams is important. I also like the keyboard shortcuts, translation editing capabilities and the easy-to-reach-and-use comment section in the editor. Cons The site and editor are a bit difficult to navigate at times, requiring a few too many clicks. And a few features are a bit hidden out of view. Furthermore, the translation editor needs a better untranslated filter, maybe one that solely focuses on the untranslated strings instead of having it blend it with the already translated strings. Very fluent, lean and user-friendly for translators. Pros I regularly contribute to the Lichess project on Crowdin as a translator for the Dutch language. (I play chess on Lichess as well.) Also as a government translation team manager, I am always curious to explore translation management solutions. I found Crowdin very efficient and user-friendly. As an open source software developer, this made it extremely easy to integrate by having automatic GitHub integration and syncing, and making it easy to switch from JSON-based translations to this website. Cons Trying to add existing translations of other languages was a bumpy ride, the documentation on that aspect was a bit lacking at the time (specially because it was a pretty complex JSON file). Pros For the long time that I used Crowdin, either to help translate and approve countless strings on projects such as Minecraft, GitLab or Discord, I never had a major complaint over the years, since 2017. Crowdin takes the cake with its user-friendly interface, robust features, and exceptional support. I will indeed reinforce the whole website interface, the layout is intuitive and clean, making it easy for both project managers and translators to navigate without any steep learning curve. Switched from [Transifex](https://www.capterra.com/p/224043/Transifex/) Transifex sometimes crash the browser cache (or something like that) and you lose all your unsaved data. The user interface is quite simple and is not overloaded with features like in some other software of this type. Cons In my experience of using work tools, few projects include glossaries. Cons The cost might be high, and the free plan is very limited. Some documentation is missing on some points, such as integrations Reason for choosing Crowdin Crowdin is a well-known and reliable platform that had all the features we needed.
