### "Gocardless - Be able to add a payment choice for your customers"

We used Gocardless since 2015, I discovered the product in 2020 and I recommend it because the product is still ramping up, more ergonomic and try to add in France the "instant direct banking" to earn efficacity an security.

Pros

What I like in Gocardless is his reliability, we connected it to our acconting system, ours emails adress, our software and also at our internal communication. It's posible to deal with our reccuring billing but also one time payments. Success+ is also a good product of Gocardless to which automatically restarts failures.

Cons

I'm a little bit of disappointed the time to recover the money between the billing and the money in our bank account. It's between 8 and 14 days.

Poor. instead of accepting direct debits seemlessly, it prompted clients to pay monthly, which some did and some didn't. It was not the automated solution that was sold to us.

Pros

Not a lot. It certainly did not deliver anything that it promised. Very unhelpful.

Cons

i did not deliver. It was suppossed to be our solution for accepting direct debits

good software but bitter taste left now that i am locked into a three year contract with really unacceptably high rates

Pros

integrates well with Xero allowing total flexibility on variable direct debit collections. retry functionality for failed invoices is good although could be improved automations and integrations with the likes of zapier

Cons

its incredibly expensive - almost 3 times the price of someo others in the market. their claim that this is due to the advanced functions that for us are almost certainly redundant

Excellent. Talk about it to anyone I know who’s got it setting up their own venture.

Pros

Never having to worry, plan or stress about monthly fees or subscriptions. Once customers are set up on a direct debit your whole business Is far more efficient.

Cons

On the very odd occasion we’ve had a customers DD’s taken twice for the same month. Fair play to the team though, it’s back with the customer typically within 24-48 hours.

GoCardless has instituted flexibility in our payment and billing system. It has also placed everyone and departments on the same page regarding cash flow and expenses. GoCardless has streamlined our accounting practice.

Go cardless has solved the time I wasted in creating invoices and bill settlement for our small company. The GoCardless user interface is easy to use.

Cons

There is just one minus GoCardless has to deal with. The waiting time for processing invoices and payout is a bit too long..

Horrible support. Months i have been trying a got nowhere.

Pros

The signup was easy but that is about it

Cons

Took over 3k out of our clients account and cannot complete deposit. Changed bank account info, verified again, bank statements etc. This company has 0 support. Dont trust them to handle your money. I cant even refund the client and get paid another way as the error is always that i dont have the funds to do a refund even though they are holding the original ACH amount.

Reason for choosing GoCardless

Seemed like a solid decision but made a huge mistake thinking that all ACH companies were the same.

site facile à l'ulisation comme operateur

GoCardless est capable de bloquer les paiements de votre entreprise pendant des mois sans raison et sans présenter aucune justification et encore elle capable de retenir vos fonds illégalement . Il n'existe pas un service client, et même la société n a pas une existence physique en France. Le support client est généré par des logarithme, toujours la même réponse peu n'importe les contestations. Franchement je ne comprends pas comment cette société a obtenu l agrément de la banque de France. Il faut que cette société soit surveiller par l'autorité financière pour éviter des dangers potentiels à l économie française

Low fees, great interface design, a portal for the customer to signup, easy setup of recurring payments from a client.

Cons

slow activation time of direct debit mandate. Lack of proper integration with Xero accounting software.

My overall experience with GoCardless has been very good, once you setup your payments and know what you're doing, you can pretty much leave it and it will do most of the work for you.

Pros

\-Easy to use -Very cheap -Rarely any technical issues -Never experienced downtime -Good customer support -Links with Quickbooks

Cons

The only con i'd have for GoCardless is that a few of my customers mandates didn't go through properly although they were completed all fine. This meant they had to catch up on the payments they missed however this was a very minor problem.

Pros

Dashboard easy to use good for cash flow and easy of collecting payment. Customer support very dubious seems to be like the original PayPal struggling to keep up

Cons

During verification you are encouraged to accept payments. When it comes to the final hurdle difficult to get hold of anyone. Keep quoting FCA rules but FCA does not support some of there procedures and has said it is not them insisting on accounts being the same legal entity as the application. When support does pick up the phone no one is able to help you have to email and get email responses of 3.5 days which is a joke. If you can ignore the banner to put payments in do not add any customers until you are completely verified otherwise you are help to ransom and your money stuck in there account .

It suited our purposes but tracking payments was not easy. Also help desk not always that helpful.

Pros

GoCardless has a higher than average monthly recurring which is good if you have large recurring invoices. Other similar products have limits which do not always fit in when you have clients who have higher monthly fees.

Cons

It was very clunky and difficult to follow the payments. Very confusing.

We get far less churn with gocardless than when we were using credit card based processors. People are more likely to leave a DD running than a CC recurring payment.

Pros

The low fees for direct debits, as well as the much lower churn rate, when compared to credit cards are what really make this a winner. It's set-it and forget it collection of fees, directly from customers bank accounts!

Cons

The control panel can sometimes be confusing, and sometimes its difficult to see how many people are on a particular payment plan.

They operate on a European business day, so that makes customer service a pain. Deciding on GoCardless was a huge mistake.

Pros

The "receive" payments very well and setting up your customers payments to be processed by GoCardless is fairly easy.

Cons

It is all but impossible to get your money once GoCardless has processed the payment. Your bank had better be part of the European Union. American banks don't have the "right" documents and they "hold" your money until they believe that your American Bank exists. They are not truly ready for international operations as of 8/20/2022.

Overall, I’ve enjoyed using GoCardless and it has made my job easier.

Pros

Quickly and easily collect invoices through the click of a button. Similar when setting up direct debit mandates - all very quick and simple.

Cons

I would prefer the filtering options to be a bit better. Doing high volume collections (which need to be done manually rather than set to collect on due date) can be frustrating having to collect in stages and then having to scroll through to the next batch

Even with the geo-restrictions, GoCardless' low fees make it an ideal solution for startups.

Pros

GoCardless provides such a clean and simple way to create invoices and take payments. They provide a plethora of options, such a recurring billing, which days to take payment and multiple concurrent payment plans. GoCardless also boast very low fees in comparison to solutions such as PayPal.

Cons

Last I checked, GoCardless does not allow individuals from locations such as the United States to pay, limiting me to take payment from only UK residents.

Pros

The initial setup of GoCardless is just a matter of filling out some forms, so pretty simple.

Cons

I had some issues completing the setup process and integration with Xero (accounting software), but customer support was relatively responsive and was able to assist.

So far so good, it's been very helpful in saving money in the business.

Pros

GoCardless is excellent if you want to save tremendously on merchant fees, it's very easy to setup and you can use it instantly, send a link to your client for them to sign up and after that you can make payments or add them to a plan and everything is taken care of from there.

Cons

Payout times are unpredictable, unlike Stripe, you can bill someone and know it will take 3 days to arrive, maybe 7 if you're still making your first few payments, however with GoCardless you don't know exactly when payment will be taken from the client unless you're using a recurring payment set for a specific day each month, also GoCardless doesn't produce invoices so you have to set it up with Quickbooks to produce invoices, which can also be a bit tedious.

As we don't use the branded option sometimes customers do not recognise the initial invitation to sign up the Direct debit as being from us.

I Love using this software, as I struggled getting my clients to pay their invoices on time, now I get them to sign up to this, allowing me to take a Monthly or a weekly direct debit.

Cons

Slightly time consuming to use, having to manly enter details on to the system each month.
