Great, just for little payments the charges update had changed our way to work with that. For the rest, we love it.

Pros

with team-up integration i win so much time. recurrent memberships payments.So easy way to develop payment in our boxes.

Cons

possibility to decrease charges for little payment. 0,20centimes for little payment is so big. in the past we used for so much payment now it's too expensive for little payment. 0,20cent add-on has been living like an horrible news for us.. We need to use stripe now for that.

Really really pleased with this service. I was debating whether just to control my own payments once the interest free period is over, but the charges are minimal and it's worth the peace of mind and time saving.

Pros

GoCardless is so easy to use and doesn't over-complicate things by adding unnecessary features or settings. The dashboard is user-friendly and it doesn't take long to get your head around it. Having the automated payments and being able to take one-off payments using DD is so useful. The interest-free period was extremely generous too.

Cons

I would quite like to have more autonomy on designing how the customer payment request looks/is designed. Getting paid out does take a bit of time, but not terrible.

My overall experience with GoCardless is a positive one, it is a useful platform that integrates with our systems and allows for the smooth day-to-day running of our organisation. We therefore have no plans to stop using GoCardless, even after a tech audit.

Pros

My favourite feature about GoCardless is the easy way you can collect and process payments. It captures all information required for auditing and has the option to process refunds if requested by the customer. GoCardless sends regular emails with pay-out information, including the customer detail breakdown and fee amount deducted to allow for quick reconciliation, and quickly transfers money into our bank account with no issues. GoCardless integrates with both our accounting and fundraising software, ensuring the 2 systems are synced. It has a user-friendly interface and is easy to navigate. It is cloud-based and has two-step authentication. There is no big learning curve to use GoCardless. GoCardless communicates well through regular emails.

Cons

The thing I like least about GoCardless is the slow customer service for when bugs arise, although I do not need to seek support often, and usually operation is smooth. Fees can also be quite high on small transactions, but all the various payment collection software we use charge fees and are similar. We also pay a monthly charge, which we do not do with our platforms. However, the benefits out-weigh the fees, and we have used GoCardless for many years. The monthly charge allows us to use our custom branding, which is a must for brand awareness.

It has been very up and down. The customer support team are genuinely helpful but it is limitations in the product offering that let them down.

Pros

The direct debit with Quickbooks, when it works. It is seamlessly integrated with Quickbooks to automate customer payments every month

Cons

When the direct debit integrated services between Gocardless and Quickbooks doesnt work, which happened for 50% of out customer base and was very hard to restore. Also, Gocardless cant collect payments from Poland where some of our customers are based.

Overall, GoCardless has been an excellent platform for international payment. I think the application has really be helpful especially for start-ups.

Pros

GoCardless is simply amazing. I have used it at several times. I thinks it processes payments well over the web and interoprates well with various applictions

Cons

GoCardless had been working well for me anytime it's need. Initially, international transaction was hectic but this has be fixed over time.

GoCardless wasted weeks of my time and disrupted my business. I was fully verified, then abruptly shut down without appeal or transparency. Meanwhile, Stripe, PayPal, Wells Fargo, and Capital One onboarded me with far less hassle. GoCardless is unreliable, unprofessional, and cannot be trusted as a payment processor. I will be filing complaints with U.S. regulators.

Pros

Nothing at all. They created problems instead of solving them and added unnecessary delays to my business. I never got any benefit from using this service.

Cons

Everything. They demanded excessive documents no other U.S. bank or processor required, cited UK and Canadian rules instead of U.S. law, made me get an attorney letter just to approve my account, and then deactivated me two weeks later with no explanation other than “security reasons.” Their support is slow, opaque, and unprofessional.

Handy platform for ensuring prompt payments from customers - instead of relying on them to make manual payments. Reduces the chances of missed payments.

Pros

Once a customer is signed up for Direct Debit, it is easy to take payments from them. Subscriptions can be bundled into templates, and changing them is straightforward.

Cons

Can take a few days from the payment submission date to actually receiving the funds in your account.

Pros

Simplicity and focus. While other platforms can get distracted and try to offer everything, GoCardless have focussed on and are a near authority on making Direct Debits available to the masses.

Cons

The lack of developer tools to simulate events. A sandbox environment is available, but it's not possible to fast forward through time to test payments as they progress from submission to payout. This makes development, testing and debugging tiresome. The pricing is also on the high side.

Our experience with it is going well so far, it seems to work well with imis and it tracks the information without any glitches, so at the moment we have no complaints.

Pros

It seems quite seamless in it's use of processing direct debits and refunds, especially from how we used to do direct debits. It also seems to work well with iMIS.

Cons

At the moment we haven't encountered many issues in the 10 months we've been using it, it seems to be quite easy to use and allows us to move towards being paperless.

With passing a substantial amount of money through the Go Cardless system, I find the interest fee is barely noticeable in the overall scheme. I've saved countless man hours in using the system by no longer chasing customers for regular payments and leaving it to Go Cardless to manage that for me. My customers are a lot happier too as they know each payment is taken securely If integrated with the correct Accounting Software, you can also use the same authorization from the customer to take one-off payments meaning that customers with an active authorization don't have to worry about carrying a card or cash, I just hit take payment. Customer-managed payments have never been this easy at such a competitive rate!

Pros

The ability to take regular payments from a customer in different frequencies sets this company apart from the competition. Previously, I had to send invoices and chase customers for payments. All that is now a thing of the past. I can agree on a date and amount with my customers and let the direct debits sort the rest out. No massive fee's for setting up and once approved by the customer, they sort the rest. The interest on transactions is extremely competitive meaning that I can work out exactly what I will get before I have even begun to discuss dates for taking payments. Go Cardless also ties into my Accounting Software meaning that I can manage my Go Cardless transactions straight from the system meaning that each invoice payment is authorised, managed and cleared at the click of a button.

Cons

No virtual terminal makes it difficult to take immediate payments over the phone. I would also be better to reduce the time it takes to have the money reach the business account, but it's not necessarily a negative because when you begin to take regular revenue, you barely notice the waiting period. The customer support on setting up was somewhat tricky. After back and forth communication, my very first payment was stuck in the system for a lot longer than expected. This was nearly two years ago so as far as I can hope, the signing up process is a lot more streamlined now.

It recently came to our attention that GoCardless had implemented something on their customer sign-up forms for customers to state that their bank account required multiple signatories. Hundreds of our customers had either mistakenly chosen this option or they had become aware of a loophole with the GoCardless payment system. It transpired that selecting the 'multiple signatory option' meant GoCardless were supposed to request additional information from customers prior to being able to collect payments. However, in our case, GoCardless incorrectly informed us that they were able to take payments even though the customers had not completed the additional process required by GoCardless. Consequently GoCardless kept informing us that payments had been collected when this was not the case. Hundreds of our customers were able to enjoy using our service without paying us anything due to the GoCardless error. The issue caused us a loss of over £22,0000. We brought the flaw to the attention of GoCardless who admitted the issue but have refused to compensate us or apologise for this serious error.

Pros

I have been using GoCardless for my business since 2012. When we first started using them they were a small start-up and we had remained loyal and supportive of them for over 7 years.

Cons

Sadly their service today is nothing like it was in the past. Over the years there have been some issues with their service but they had generally been helpful in getting things fixed. However, they service today is absolutely shocking and I would urge anyone considering using the company to be extremely careful.

### "Wouldn't be without it "

We formally employed someone to invoice and then chase monies, with this Direct Debit facility we have all our reoccurring payments time after time - furthermore it reconciles in Xero. We have save money through this automation as we only visit the platform when we need to take on new customers.

Pros

We love the simplicity, we drag & dropped our branding. Set up our currencies GBP, AUD, USD, CAD, EUR and created our invoicing from Xero. Requesting the customer to subscribe is very simple and follows rules from Xero etc. This really is a great product for running Direct Debit

Cons

Yet to find a fault with this product - it really is a simple & easy product to use.

Pros

Integrates well with my membership platform TeamUp. Takes monthly and one time payments, shows payments taken and processed and invoices to both parties

Cons

So far it does what I need. The only thing I struggled to find was overall monthly intake. While I get an email each month it would be good to get a projected on the dashboard.

### "A good start in the subscription business"

Pros

I use GOCARDLESS to process my clients' monthly subscriptions. Through the SEPA direct debit mandate (EU), the fees can be collected automatically and fully automated from the account. The payment is made a few days later minus a fee, which in my opinion is very low. The UI is very modern and makes it easy to use. With the various integrations GOCARDLESS can be integrated into existing systems or via API/Webhook into own software. Setting up a direct debit mandate is very easy for the end user, as this is done entirely online with a link provided beforehand.

Cons

I would like to see more customization options in the free plan. Some of my customers are confused (even if I explain it to them before) because GOCARDLESS always appears on the debits instead of my company's name. Also, filling out a direct debit mandate on paper is only available in the paid version, but I think this is an important option and should therefore be available to all users. There are many users who are skeptical about being able to grant a direct debit mandate online without a signature. A mobile app would be very desirable, as the website is not mobile-optimized and I would like to be able to access the data on the go.

They're customer support is on a UK delay (we're in US). No phone support.

Pros

Seemed like a great idea - connected via Xero / Accounting software. Huge regrets. They've collected funds via my customer invoices. But are putting me through verification hell. They should NEVER be able to access and hold funds BEFORE they've verified our business. I'm still fighting to get the $6000 they have of ours...

Nice looking website but they have horrible customer service and cancel your account after collecting money for you and won’t give it to you or give it back!

Pros

Offers an amazing, simple API to hook into for electronic transactions via EFT/ACH. Really fast setup and seamless documentation.

Cons

I would have liked to use GoCardless as a one stop shop: i.e. having both Direct Debit and Credit Card functionality. Right now, with the lack of credit card access, we're forced to segment our payments APIs to different providers.

Pros

Nice simple interface, cost effective, good integrations, good overview of clients in general. Easy to get clients to sign up.

Cons

Not always easy to understand the status of payments or explain to customers how long it will take for a payment to process. Does take a while to process - I realise this is because of banks not GC.
