Pros

What I like most are the people at PerformYard! From the initial interactions with the sales team to the implementation it was clear PerformYard was interested in being my partner in creating a high performing organization. Our account rep consults with me to understand and then find the best solutions for my company. She is a tremendous trainer and supports my learning style by getting on the phone with me when needed! She is friendly, professional, and savvy. The software is user friendly and administrator friendly. The feature I like most for our users are the dashboard, everything in the Goals tab, and the ability for folks to isolate their views with filters or "forms I need to do" section. The "Feedback" button is fast way to share feedback. Overall the software is aesthetically appealing; an important thing to highly visual architects and interior designers. Additionally, the pricing is fair.

Cons

Only two small things fall on my least list: I don't believe the "activity streams" on the dashboard or in goals are leveraged by our employees. Sometimes the back button does not take you to the previous page but all the way back to the front of the function. On my wishlist: The Feedback icon gives the ability to GIVE feedback to anyone in the organization. I wish we could have the same open design, but in the reverse; allowing anyone in my organization to REQUEST feedback from anyone in the organization. Having open design for both giving feedback and receiving feedback support a culture of feedback! I believe functionality like this would be a differentiator for PerformYard in the performance market.

### "Good products don't need to hold you hostage"

Seemed good during the demo but after signing up we found it lacking in the functionality we needed. It's clunky and not intuitive. My team did not find the value in it we hoped when we demoed it. We tried to use it for a few months and my team didn't see the value in it and did not want to use it. It took more time and effort than the benefit we saw. We paid for a year in advance and chose not to renew the contract. They then informed us that we had a 3 year NON CANCELABLE contract and are trying to force us to pay thousands per year for 2 more years for a product we don't use or find value in. What does this say about the company? Thats as terrible of an experience as any company can provide. . If a product provides value we'd keep using it. Evidently they think holding customers hostage and forcing them to pay whether they find value in the product or not is a good way to do business. It is not!! Only companies whose products or services are weak need to try to force contracts like this. We signed up in good faith thinking the product was more useful than it turned out to be. Its just crazy that they are trying to force us to pay for something we don't use or want. Buyer beware. There are tons of competitive products that do more, cost less and are willing to prove their value rather than depend on the dishonest and poor service business model that depends on holding people hostage.

Pros

It seemed like it would be useful but it was not for us. The demo looked like what we were looking for but it did not match our needs. We paid for a year and tried to use it but did not find value. They are now trying to force us to pay for 2 more years for a product we don't use. Thats as low as it gets for a business. You only see what they want to show you in a demo. Its dishonest to force people to pay for a product you don't use. We would never have signed up had we known.

Cons

Not intuitive. Clunky to use,lacking scheduling ability, reporting is poor, was not as useful as expected. Company depends on forcing contracts rather than providing value.

I believe that remote workers feel a sense of connection via PerformYard. At least it’s better than the old manual spreadsheets we had for our 360 reviews. My personal goals match up to what the company wants to see so I keep the tab open to show that I’m moving my projects forward and they leave me alone.

Pros

I think the learning paths are fine or at least acceptable, however I wish there were a dark mode for my eyes. Being able to impersonate users is helpful when the employees can’t figure out how to use the social feed and I was pleasantly surprised that it did not crash this time. The user interface has improved.

Cons

However, I find the platform to be extremely slow and the mobile app to be very clunky. The biggest issue is that I cannot award multiple badges in one single post to the same employee which is a tremendous waste of time and therefore the recognition process feels like an obligation since I have to repeat it. There is no spell checker available for creating goals which is simply poor design.

PerformYard has allowed me to keep all our performance conversations and documentation in one place. Before, we were using spreadsheets and google docs and it was very messy and easy to lose sight of the feedback. Now everything from goals progress to review notes is all within one dashboard which you save hours of time and makes performance discussions much more structured and data driven.

Pros

Mostly review cycles and tracking our employee goals throughout the year and I really like how organized everything feels and it is really nice to have each review cycle clearly laid out and I don’t have to chase down my managers to update me on where everyone stands. I also created a form for collecting peer feedback prior to our review cycle and it contributed to a more balanced and equitable feelings about the evaluation.

Cons

I appreciate how the admin interface has been designed, though I understand that it may feel a bit uncomfortable to some users particularly when it comes to setting up review templates and changing questions mid cycle and when goal tracking and review could be streamlined to fewer clicks. Those things may feel a bit cumbersome but I do not believe it significantly detracts from efficiency.

At least I don’t have my OKRs lost in a dead/spreadsheet anymore. At least my 1:1s are all in one spot (it feels a lot stiffer than just using a normal document). At least HR isn’t bugging me as often because they can see my progress without asking them.

Pros

I like that everything (the reviews and the OKRs) are in one place so I don’t have to have a thousand tabs open. I was surprised how well the AI tool helped with writing feedback, most of these tools sound like they were written by robots.

Cons

The mobile app is pretty bare bones, it really does very little. I have no idea why I’m getting manager training videos on my dashboard, I’m the Co-Founder , it makes zero sense. I feel like it is very plain and after a while it gets really dull and boring to fill out the forms.

Pros

I like the flexibility in the process design and I value the ability to adapt and supplement the forms and evaluation cycles to align them, and I love its interface, its totally intuitive.

Cons

For now, I dont like is the employee synchronization with HRIS systems. bu the rest of the platform works well and I like it.

I really like flexibility, and as a human resources manager, its important to me because it allows me to manage multiple types of assessments within the platform, which saves a lot of time and also allows me to tailor feedback to the actual needs of the team.

So far, what I dont like is the customization, because we need options and I see it as limited. thats the only negative.

Our experience with PerformYard has been outstanding. From the ease of implementation, ability to personalize the set up of the performance process to fit our needs and culture, and the ease of use by managers and employees - All were exceptional! PerformYard architects actually understand HR and the Performance Appraisal process and developed a system that actually works and is amazingly flexible. In implementing the system, I had tons of "how can I do this" questions, and generally the system was already set up to enable what ever I asked for.

Pros

Flexibility & Control -- We were able to build our own forms, process, timing, everything. It was very important to us to be able to utilize what we had done in the past that was working, that our employees trusted and that aligned with our culture. "Off the shelf" forms would not have done this for us. Also the ability to make changes mid-process with a simple click - by yourself - and instantly implement the change was HUGE. Like adding a sign off, deleting a reviewer, etc. We didn't have to call and put in a work order and wait for days for a return call. Changes happen, and sometimes they are very sensitive and need quick response. Having the ability and confidence to make instant adjustments when needed is critical. The system is very intuitive, little or no management and employee training needed. Also, having the system automatically sending out reminders - and the ability for an employees to personally turn off reminders - are both very helpful. PerformYard staff are exceptional. All responded quickly, were knowledgeable, and patient. Every person I spoke with was a pleasure to work with. We had PerformYard personnel hold a training session with our managers (via web), and a couple of occasions hold a call with a manager who had more technical systems questions, and again, PerformYard staff were exceptional and answered all questions with ease.

Recommendations to others: Listen to the directions support/representatives give you... they're an excellent source to use, as to not try to do too much right-off-the-bat. I see a lot of companies start huge and they lose control of the systems, then their efforts become a negative, bad-tasting initiative to the team members. Problems solved/benefits: PerformYard helped our quickly-growing team provide more consistent, necessary, and VERY MUCH desired feedback. In my opinion, this is one of the most important things a firm can semi-easily give an employee. It's so important to help someone learn, grow, and give them the opportunity to succeed; and PerformYard got us about 20 steps closer to the continuing initiative.

PerformYard helped our quickly-growing team provide more consistent, necessary, and VERY MUCH desired feedback. In my opinion, this is one of the most important things a firm can semi-easily give an employee. It's so important to help someone learn, grow, and give them the opportunity to succeed; and PerformYard got us about 20 steps closer to the continuing initiative.

Cons

I would say the system can be a tad limited, although I understand the majority of these limitations come from keeping customers from trying to do too much and digging themselves a hole (so thank you for helping to pull us in and keep us focused). But, my BIGGEST request/suggestion is to allow multiple-choice questions with MULTIPLE selected answers (ie: select all that apply)... this is something MANY of our questions need, rather than using open-ended or multi-line answer options (as there's no way to turn that information into data).

I really enjoy this tool in tracking my performance throughout the week, day, year! It allows me to see and track performance statistics I would rather not be able to view at other companies I have experienced in the past. This really allows me to pin point my performance and become not only better at my job for myself but to become more of an asset for my company.

There is not really much I don't like about the PerformYard tools. If there is one thing I would say that could be better, it would be ability to get more updates sooner to my performance tracking.

PerformYard has exceeded our expectations and the entire team has been an outstanding partner to us. We were able to implement an automated performance review process (goal setting, reviews, and feedback tools) in a short period of time. We were also able to make tech changes (PY team made changes to the software code on short-order) when we found ourselves in a pinch due to our own unique rating and % feeds mid-review cycle. No insignificant task on their end, but they made it seem that way given its importance to us.

Pros

The team and their customer service & support - all around one of the best (i.e. our Acct Director, tech team, owner - everyone we've had the pleasure to work with at PerformYard has been responsive and swift to help us solve any challenges, implementation, ongoing support). Customization - able to input, modify, and leverage the platform to suit our needs. Automates the single biggest administrative burden for the Company. Personalized attention - from setting up the Agreement between our two companies, the live trainings provided by our Acct Director, the knowledge sharing and guidance the team provides, the swift issue resolution they consistently deliver upon. Integration with our HRIS platform as promised and on-schedule.

Cons

That PerformYard is for performance management only. We knew this going into it, however, we'd love to be able to leverage this team's expertise and automated solution(s) for the entire talent management cycle (development, management, succession, compensation).

The robustness and customization of the platform; responsiveness of the team, ease of use, training as part of the implementation, cost-benefits of the tool.
