I always look on Freightos for rates on shipments to the US - even if I ultimately book elsewhere. Pros Super easy to get real-time quotes. Competitive rates and a good variety of freight partners from which to book freight. Easy to update documents and other information after booking. Cons You typically pay 3 invoices for each shipment - one at time of booking for all known charges, one for customs clearance charges while on the water, and one more for any incidental charges upon delivery (e.g. per diem, demurrage). Ideally, I'd love to only pay 2 invoices - once for the bulk on the front end and once for the remainder. Review Source DD Debra D. August 29, 2024 1.0 I have filed numbers disputes so it will be easy to location my file since I have been fighting a $420.00 claim by a 3rd rate freight forwarder doing business on Freightos. Oh, their name is Shining Ocean and \[sensitive content hidden\] is the freight forwarder that is ripping me off. It is not the very small amount of $420.00 but the mere fact that I am being ripped off and nothing is being done about it. So I will take my 15 shipments a year FCL elsewhere! All over $420.00 that is being ripped from me. Yes, I will pay because I am an honorable business person, unlike the Freightos and 3rd rate freight forrwarders that are over charging me. Pros I guess they have all the money and first time shippers and don't need long term, customers. Great if this is your first shipment and can't figure out you are being ripped off. Cons After 24 full container load shipments, they allowed a 3 rate frieght forwarder get away with not collecting all my cargo, up charging after delivery and saying the cartons were "BIGGER" but the CBM was the same as on the packing list. What a joke. I went back to \[sensitive content hidden\] and have save over $1200 on each shipment! Freightos hires 3rd rate or inexperienced freight forwarders and allow them to rake over the customers. I have worked with Freightos for years and it is now a rip off and joke. Contact \[sensitive content hidden\] instead. I get my products 20-30 days quicker NOT using Freightos! Don't fall for the review of the "LTL less that container load" shippers that have shipped 2-3 times, they don't know any different. It is easy to use Freightos but then it isn't when they don't back what they sell and don't hold the forwarders accountable for their error and let them charge you and add on after delivery anything they want to your bill with ZERO proof. April 29, 2021 1.0 Pros It seems cheap at first and like it will make things easier and streamline the process but they will hit you with new charges and provide zero customer service. Cons I was forced to pay 500% more than what I was quoted (and had already paid for) because they claimed I didn't submit a corrected piece of paperwork quickly enough. They had the form for two weeks but waited until a few days before the boat took off to tell me I needed to correct something on the paperwork. I had submitted all my paperwork and paid weeks before and was travelling without access to a printer/computer to do this. A deadline was never communicated and I submitted the paperwork a few days later. Apparently this was too late and now I have to pay more. I tried to go through the dispute process and FreightOs was ABYSMAL. Each email came from a different person, they always said they were looking into things and then I wouldn't hear back for days. Eventually someone told me they agreed: I was never given a deadline and the potential charge was never explained upfront. But FedEx offered to take off $100 of the charge so they were considering it settled. I've repeatedly asked what I did wrong that has made this charge my fault and not FedEx, who failed to communicate appropriately. No one responds. Now they've sent a letter from legal claiming I'm ignoring them and I need to pay immediately. NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE THIS COMPANY. I thought the advantage here would be a certain level of support and a streamlining of the process that would help me avoid these kind of charges. Pros I liked that I was able to receive instant quotes Cons The tracking of the shipment could be better. Updates did not happen in real time. And I had to go to the freight forwarder's website with the AWB number to get actual air freight tracking. I would have liked to known ahead of time about the total customs fee that would be due. It wasn't fun getting hit with an add'l 7.5% on top of the regular duty. Pros The freightos software and site is very intuitive and easy to use when looking for shipping quotes. The quotes were easy to generate and were very accurate to my final cost. I was able to upload the documents needed and they forwarded on to the shipping company. It was almost so easy I thought surely something was gonna go wrong, but nope! Everything went perfectly. Cons I am a first-time importer into the USA so there was a few grey areas that I didn't know about until they were right in front of me. It would have been nice if there was some kind of video or checklist I could have gone through to make sure I crossed my T's and dotted my I's. I was able to do customs clearance and delivery within Canada all one stop. Super impressed. Pros Very clear pricing and timelines. I had constant contact with my shipper. They were very responsive. I could add or deduct services as needed. It's great for a first time or 100th time importer. Cons I had no complaints with Freightos. It was way better and more convenient than the local shipper I had use. So as much as we want to throw things at the wall sometimes, I think FreightOS is still better than other options out there. Plus they are improving all the time. Pros The platform is easy to use and they've made quite a few improvements to functionality over the years. Customs is now done by one company so we don't have to do power of attorneys every shipment, and uploading documents is a lot easier than it used to be as well. Cons Invoicing. I can deal with just about everything from quote to delivery, but 1) we don't get invoices until like 4 days before they're due, and 2) there's no option to pay by wire through the website. You click wire and they just mark the invoice paid and give you a screenshot of the bank details. I would really like to be able to pay by EFT straight through the website, as I have to get our owner to log into our bank account every time we need to pay FreightOS Review Source ZL Zac L. I can rest easy knowing that they are coordinating everything from start to finish and also finding the best rates/options possible. Pros Freight shipping has so many different parts to it, so it would be a huge pain to worry about it yourself. That's where Freightos comes in. They do it all for you. They get a percent of the shipment, but honestly it's very reasonable and I'd pay it for the convenience any day! Cons Nothing really, it's great! I think over time adding more options (carriers) would be good, but that's less of a con and more of thought of what could make it even more robust. " March 5, 2018 1.0 Cons after shipping for almost 5 years only with DHL and UPS, i found Frightos, which gave me amazing prices (Almost 20% less than any other shipping/ broker agency) Plus the Israeli salesman gave me a code for 10% off my entire order which was very tempting. I booked with them a shipment for supplies from China After picking up the products, they told me they had to adjust the price because the class of my products is diffrent due to shipping (never happened to me before) and they raised the price. Well, I was thinking maybe it is true, and I paid it. The second time I shipped with them (diffrent product), the same story happened. Here I was really mad because they are holding the products, not willing to release it, and want 30-40% more for the shipment. This is a system and a business model. I talked to few more people that the same story happened to them. So be careful. They may seem cheap at first, but they will collect more after. Trust me. You better off with DHL UPS and FEDEX. Pros For a company that only has a few international shipments a year, Freightos is very easy to use and there's a lot of communication between the platform and the forwarder. Getting a quote is a quick process. Cons Sometimes it feels like I'm uploading the same files repeatedly - especially with the new customs integration. Export licenses are a little unclear as well. Pros The shipping cost breakdown is a fantastic feature. Being able to manage multiple shipments on one portal is a big plus. For novices I feel this is a perfect platform as it literally walks the user through from end-to-end.
