Most of my larger customers use SPS Commerce, so when there are any updates from my customers, the changes are automatic and I don't have to worry about making any changes from here. This is a great help!

Pros

We had been using a company that was very difficult to deal with and get information from when we had questions. SPS Commerce is very good about answering the phones and having someone that can help with all of our questions. The software is very logical and easy to work with.

Cons

I wish only the fields that the customer requires, would show during input. Or the actual needed items would be marked appropriately. This is done somewhat, but not correctly all the time.

Pros

SPS is incredibly user-friendly and the interface is aesthetically pleasing. The advanced search function and the ability to add rules is very helpful. My most favorite part of working with SPS is the customer service team; they are always incredibly helpful and I never have to wait more than a few minutes to get someone on the line.

Cons

The way the site loads is not always intuitive. For example, when I select quick-entry for an invoice and enter in the areas and hit save, it stays on the same page rather than taking you to the invoice. So then I have to click source document and click the invoice or go find it in the transaction tab. This is only a few extra clicks but it seems silly it wouldn't save and take you directly to the invoice to either further edit or submit.

Pros

Ease of use no matter the vendor once everything is set up. Acceptability by our vendors.

Cons

Pricing and billing. It seems like one is nickel and dimed for every little thing. They will give back credits to make it seem as if you are getting something for nothing. The billing can be terrible if you do not have the right sale rep or person to set everything up correctly or fix it.

One of our largest vendors recommended them.

Customer service and the implementation teams are first-rate. They make it easy to add additional partners.

Pros

The automation of our fulfillment and invoicing processes. Customer service is also great.

Cons

Sometimes difficult to find the cause of errors, and once it's been fixed, we cannot re-submit ourselves but have to reach to Customer Service to do it for us. They always respond quickly, but it would be better for both sides if we could do it ourselves.

VP has allowed us to quickly adjust to our customers changing requirements as well as quickly onboard new partners and documents. This has lead to a surge in EDI volume, order accuracy, and better fulfillment times.

Pros

Having the ability to build our own interfaces and maps was a huge plus for us. We have a lot of partners who do not always follow EDI standards and we sometimes need to make unconventional map changes to accommodate them. Other customers are sending custom flat files or XML files and we were able to integrate them into VP.

Cons

The Vantage Point 4 UI can sometimes be quirky and misbehaves. We had performance issues installing the application on client machines (versus remoting into the server) - however, this could be due to how our infrastructure is set up.

We are able to process orders for multiple customers using SPS Commerce Fulfillment.

Pros

The SPS Commerce Fulfillment software offers most of the functions needed to process customer orders.

Cons

Some of the processes are cumbersome and not as efficient as other software. The user interface isn't the easiest to use. Transaction pricing also not as low as other software options.

We had a major customer that required we use SPS Commerce.

Great support of a well functioning product. The need for support is very, very rare, but is provided immediately in the very few cases where we are in doubt. Daily / hourly use is flawless. Very efficient.

Pros

Very easy to get up and running, and excellent SPS experts are always available just a phone call away.

Cons

Nothing I can think of, except for more passwords to remember ; - )

Pros

Layout is quite easy to read and search for specific orders, shipments, etc.

Cons

I only use this for order entry on my side of the business so I can only speak to that. Occasionally have issues with transaction lists being too broad so it takes time to narrow down parameters. Also, adding products to feeds isn't always intuitive. Better or more easily available guides would be helpful.

Easy to use and great customer support. Great for maintaining larger stores.

Pros

This program is easy to retrieve orders and send the appropriate documents. You can also archive and search older documents.

Cons

If you get any sort of lag it is difficult to work in the program and doesn't function correctly. Nothing terrible.

We do a large volume with web forms fullfillment with 4 vendors. If you are unable to integrate your own EDI system this works very well.

Pros

Easy to use, it's quick. I like the abilty to use templates.

Cons

limited search options, can't search within po's or by ship to. If you need to print alot (100+) documents, it's pretty slow - sometimes errors out. You cna only print 100 documents at a time.

My business problem is CAUSED by SPS Commerce. We are trying to work through the initial implementation, but it has dragged on for months. Poor execution, incredibly poorly timed roll-out . There was a protocol in place for conducting business that was smooth, efficient, and took the burden off of the hands of the customer. SPS Commerce has broken something that worked for 30 years to the point where the business may be lost.

Pros

I cannot express how strongly I feel about the limitations of this software. The only thing I can say is that the interface is okay at best.

Cons

The purchase orders and invoicing upload are redundant and do not integrate with existing software. The purchase orders generated are so erratic we often cancel deliveries. Too frequently product is over ordered or not ordered at all. Our account somehow is setup to grant discounts (we do not honor those). We supply products with very thin margins, and the cost of administrating all the extra steps required will have cause pricing the retailer may find non-competitive.

We were forced to participate by the customer (national chain).

### "SPS a Poor EDI Solution"

Pros

SPS does all of the EDI setup and maintenance but this is also their downfall.

Cons

Small changes that are easy to make with our new provider required opening a ticket with SPS. All of this takes time and is just a bad way to update things. SPS has also been partnering with companies for testing updates that vendors using other providers have to complete. The fee's charged for this useless testing is nothing less than extortion.

### "webforms vs Imbedding into NS"

NOT GOOD. I do not recommend this platform for growing companies. use DI Central instead

Pros

if you are using webforms and all your case packs are the same, the functions are easy. If you are using NS, this is not the software to use.

Cons

if you are using webforms and all your case packs are the same, the functions are easy. If you are using NS, this is not the software to use. the implementation is the most complicated enviroment. the customer support are only focused on what their role is, they do not make sure that you are functioning and happy with your software. Our business model is rather complicated and thus having the fucntions support that model are left up to the customer rather than the support helping you get the right outcome.

It's easy to use once you get the training. It takes a few reps to get the hang of it but once you start to use it consistently it's a breeze.

Cons

Troubleshooting is difficult. You'll most likely need to contact customer support - who are great - but it's an extra step that can take time.

THE SOFTWARE IS SO EASY TO USE IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN AROUND SITES LIKE THIS BEFORE IT WILL MORE OR LESS WALK YOU THROUGH EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW OR DO. WHEN YOU ARE DONE YOU CHECK FOR ERRORS AND THE SOFTWARE LETS YOU KNOW WHERE TO FIX THE PROBLEMS.

Cons

IF YOU HAVE MADE A MISTAKE AND NEED TO GO BACK AFTER YOU HAVE SUBMITTED THE FORM IT IS A HEADACHE TO FIX IT.

Pros

A very flexible product that will function across several flavors of ERP. The support services and expertise of the staff is second to none.

Cons

The scheduling module and backend functionality can be a little complex. However, with the help of support we were able to quickly grasps the concepts.

Pros

The software is very simple, anyone can use it. It is also quite powerful which allows any size business to optimize it for their EDI needs.

Cons

It can be expensive depending on the implementation. Is it worth it? Yes! Just be prepared for the connection fees to each customer/vendor. Long run, it simplifies the supply chain process which generates greater revenue.

Pros

The DM team has been proactive in fixing repeat issues. This has resulted in more prompt payments from customers and less deductions for errors.

Cons

It still has required expertise on our end, although hopefully this will be needed less and less, as time progresses.

Overall, we're very pleased with SPS. As a small company, it's a bit expensive for us. But it definitely makes the process much easier.

Pros

It's a robust product that makes it easy to find everything in one place. Integration with customers is quick and efficient. The implementation specialists communicate well and keep us informed on the setup progress

Cons

Sometimes it's a bit confusing and not intuitive. I wish there was more help information on many of the fields, because sometimes we're not sure what to enter into them.
