That along with the price makes this the perfect solution to backup millions of files across 10TB of data. Pros The price and the simplicity of configuring it to backup our Synology rackstation. It's secure and we have always been able to restore files when needed. We have never experienced an issue with Backblaze. Would highly recommend to everyone. Cons The web interface could use an overhaul. It is simple enough but I feel like with a little time and effort they could turn it into something better. Note, this is a very minor con. BackBlaze has never failed me once. Couldn't be happier. Pros BackBlaze is easy to use and is integrated into JetBackup, which I love. Their pricing gives me the flexibility to store more backups than S3. Will be a user for life so long as they don't jack up the prices. Cons Really wish it was compatible with incremental backups. As it is now, I have to send full backups and use more space. That's not a big deal since the pricing is reasonable, but incremental would be easier on my machine. Backblaze has provided me the comfort knowing that if any of my physical drives fail, data is safe on their system. Pros It is VERY easy to scale this software to suite your company's needs, whether big or small. Additionally it's low cost and a powerhouse in the data storage industry. Cons The only con I can think of is if you lose an encryption key, that is not stored under their management. It becomes almost impossible to get data back if you lose that key. But I have had issued with the backups getting desynchronized. Pros Once it's been set up, you rarely have to think about it. It works in the background. Cons Because you rarely need to think about it, if it stops working it could be a while before you notice there's an issue. Changing/deleting a bunch of files all at once can cause the backup to become desynchronized, and the only way to fix it is to uninstall and reinstall the app start the backup over from scratch. November 30, 2022 5.0 Pros Backblaze is a simple backup solution that allows you to easily back up your hard drive and connected drives for a single monthly price. It does the job well, and is basically "set and forget". It also allows you to exclude items, folders, or drives from backup easily. The speed is quite quick, and I have never had a problem with restoring content. Cons I don't like that Backblaze makes you back up your system drive. For many people this is redundant, as they are using this to back up specific content such as photos which may not be located on the system drive. Review Source CR Chris R. Pros We receive over 1,000 emails a month just between mechanical and electrical after sales support. I am the 'gatekeeper' of the email archives. We originally had them on a separate server, but that became buggy. And it wasn't searchable. With backblaze you can back up automatically every day anything and everything on the computer, and be able to retrieve it at any time. This eliminated the need to have a separate hard drive that everyone would have to map to, and the plug into their computer if they needed an older email. Cons The only downside is the backup can take a while if you don't have it set to do it every day. If you do it every week and you have a lot of data it could take hours for it to backup. Pros I love it how easy and simple was to setup and get the app to work. I feel very confident that when I need to restore my files backblaze will be there for me. Cons Sometimes when it is uploading my computer files I find that it slowed down my computer and internet, not a big deal if not working on the computer. Cons Encryption ability is limited to 128-bit keys, making this a concern for business use where industry regulations or standards require more robust encryption of private data. November 29, 2020 5.0 We have lost a couple of machines to ransomware so rather than giving in to the criminals we just turned to Backblaze. Pros This software takes away all of the worry with regard to insuring your data is safe. It runs in the background without having any impact on your machines resources. Cons Our other teams backup data to Google Drive, which is fine. This does cost a bit more but it does have advantages such as the ability to have your data retrieval via hard drive sent via courier. Much quicker if and when you need terrabytes of data. Reason for choosing Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage Google Drive is great but you can only retrieve data by online download. Pros BackBlaze keeps all of my computer files and external drives backed up. I feel so much safer knowing that all my thousands of photo and design projects will be immediately accessible to download to a new computer if my current one happens to crash. Backblaze has an easy to use interface and you can even schedule when the backups occur or do a continuous backup. Cons I wish Backblaze had an easier to use Business package. January 2, 2018 3.0 Pros Inexpensive software with unlimited back up limit which is hard to find. Easy install and no maintenance. Cons Back ups are set to a schedule. Also would be nice to throttle it while utilizing they machine. Ended up not using the software because after 5 months, my initial back up still never finished. You just have to install the software and that´s it! You do not have to worry to backup your data manually and upload it to the cloud. If you get your computer broken or lost you can order your data on a hard disk by mail. Cons Data transfer (upload and download) its kind of slow in the basic packages. July 18, 2019 5.0 Pros Backblaze has the cheapest rates for online cloud storage that I've been able to find. The online portal is easy to use and set up. Cons You have to have a third party app to run on your computer or server to send your data to BackBlaze. They do not offer their own standalone software. I purchased Cloudberry for servers and then use it to send the file to Backblaze B2 cloud services. It has also proven useful a couple of times where I wanted to refer back to files that I had previously deleted. I've never implemented a backup solution that was so robust and well made. The cost to benefit ratio is remarkable, and I find them dead easy to maintain and use. Cons I am not crazy about the web interface—it loads as an applet in the browser. It totally does work, but it's not the most elegant solution.
