For us, this was the only possible way that was secure at that time. However, compared to 8 years ago, both the product ánd pricing have not changed. It's outdated, overcharged and overall not developer friendly. Pros It's stable, and encryption is fine. We've used it for 8 years and didn't have any significant technical issues with it luckily. Cons We have been using JW player for about 8 years, thinking it was fine. Partially because of their statistics that they showed, we assumed the migration wouldn't be a significant change. How could we be wrong. First of all, there is a significant lack of integration possibilities and modern tools. For example, they offer transcribing - at 1$ a minute. Alternatives do this for around 0,10$ at most. Next to this, the customization in settings, player and solution is limited. It's not developer friendly at all. Secondly - their pricing is insane. First of all, they work with packages. This means you always pay, also if you don't use the allotment. More importantly tho, their pricing is inflated. For current customers - be aware, they charge you for original video file sizes, while they are not being stored. JW charged us for 22TB of storage, but after migration it turns out (including all variants that come with it), we are sub 7TB stored. Keep this in mind if you make calculations - their storage allotment is inflated insanely. We have migrated eventually - and can only recommend to do this. It only took us 1 week to migrate but it's a 78% reduction in expenses. We literally save 14k per year now. From uploading videos to Analysing the Audience engagement, were all easy and reliable. Embedding videos was Easy and fast. Viewer Audience can use CAST option for screen sharing directly, which we liked. Pros First of all I liked its simple and clean working Interface. Uploading and Managing videos or video playlists, Publishing videos and analysing them are all included in Home Page itself, which I liked. Embedding or publishing videos in Websites was very helpful. Video hosting and delivering content was quite flexible and with low cost. Video Control bar is customisable with many colours which I think might impress viewers. So, JW player will be an good option for smooth Video Hosting. Cons I don't remember any issues or problems while using it. I think they can update few more features to make video hosting more advance. Pros JW Player is a free multimedia player plugin itintegrated in web browsers to view multimedia content. It easily response to HTML5 and provides shared functionalities tha are built-in to the player. The videos uploaded to the JW player provides automatic multiple image frame options for selecting video thumbnails. It also allows you to enable playlist functions and players which you can easily customize for specific uses accordingly. Cons It is not very customizable and you have to adjust your AV accordingly to the limitations of JW before proceeding.
