Controller Consumer Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "FloQast: Excellent for Close Management" October 4, 2022 4.0 FloQast's team was great with implementation, working and continuing to support our team through operational improvements to the system, and assisting us in understanding the system. The system is easy to use and set-up, with not too many complexities, but enough robustness to shine where needed: The month-end close. Pros FloQast shines with assisting accounting teams with close management, by creating a centralized location for all close activities and management, regardless of what accounting system used for recording accounting transactional data. FloQast assists with checklists, flux analysis, and most important, reconciliations, to keep your balance sheet and income statement clean and to streamline an efficient, accurate, and reliable close. From functionality to assist with reconciliations from its reconciliation tool, and being able to streamline and manage accounting tasks, to improving the time to close, FloQast is one of the leaders in the market, and should be looked at by small to large, private and public companies alike. Cons FloQast does well where it focuses its attention: reconciliation, close management, checklist management, process reviews and approvals, flux analysis, and ensuring a close is done well. If you are looking for an FP&A tool for budgeting, or a financial reporting tool for financial statement preparation, this is not the tool. But where it sits, it sits very well, and meets a current market gap in many accounting systems. Pros It's intuitive and works the way accountants think! Its also quick and simple to implement and manage on the fly. Cons Minor items - daily occurrence tasks are not available, and inability to archive flux analysis that no longer apply without losing the history. Pros As a staff accountant who has worked in many industries across several companies, I can honestly say that FloQast is my favorite support software I've used to date. Whether it is the ease of reconciliations or creating checklist items, FloQast makes my job easier on a daily basis. Cons I do not have any negative reviews related to using FloQast. Again, my opinion comes from a staff accountant level, so perhaps our CFO and/or controller have some negative experiences or certain parts they find bothersome. I have been working with FloQast for 3 years and each year they continue improving the product and adding new very relevant features. The team is incredible to work with and very customer service oriented. Pros I love that FloQast has the ability to consolidate accounting functions into one centralized location. I enjoy the fact that all the accounting documentation can be accessible within the FloQast system, and it is linked directly into our SOX compliance module. Cons I would like to see more in-app linking between the modules and consistency between the features in each module. It gets all team members working together to complete tasks that have been assigned. Pros FloQast is very easy to navigate. The search selections help to narrow it down to specific companies that I may be focused on at the moment. We have the capabilities of having simple checklist items or reconciliations that need to be added. Cons I sometimes think that items show up after I have checked all of my items of. It is possible that I did not have the correct entity selected. I prefer that the Entity or "all entities" stays the same once I have made the selection. I would be able to select all entities and my items and leave it alone. It's intuitive and provides great visibility from tasks to reconciliations as well as workflows outside the close. The exceptional support and responsiveness of the FQ team made the implementation process easier than expected. Pros FloQast is easy to use and helps us to stay on track with the close process. It improves communication by providing visibility to everyone on where we are with the process. We can attach files to each task and reconciliation, making the review process easier and consolidating our files in one location. Cons Nothing negative. Pros Allows easily to track tasks to do, who needs to them and when. Organizing the whole task monitoring process in way that is easy to track. Super useful tool for close and to keep the reconciliation clean. Also helped a lot managing the workload for each of the team members Pros I like how easy is to use FloQast. The Sofware keeps all the tasks organized and everyone aligns with the due dates. I like the auto reconciliation feature. It syncs perfectly with our Netsuite system. We use Floqast every day, we also use it to monitor our tasks daily. Cons Currently having a small detail issue with the Auto-Rec feature since it is not manually picking from our Netsuite system. The integration and rollout of the product was truly easy and the FloQast support team was second to none. FloQast has made close more efficient and more visible which has allowed our company to close faster and focus on process improvements. Pros The integration of FloQast with our ERP system was seamless. FloQast is a simple and ease to use product which helps with rolling out the product to the business and adoption of users. The product has helped give visibility into the close process at each operation business unit and helped us gain more efficiencies in the close process. Additionally by utilizing the perm file - we are able to how desktop procedures and other important information in one place that helps with onboarding new employees/retaining knowledge. Cons The Compliance function i believe needs to be built out more. We've been very pleased overall! Pros I love how we now have a dynamic tool for organizing all of our month-end tasks. No more excel checklists for us! FloQast has allowed us to cut our month-end close time from barely closing by the last day of the month to 15 business days! Cons Really my only complaint is not being able to duplicate prepaid items in the AutoRec feature. We have several monthly invoices that are prepaid, so being able to duplicate last month's item and just change the invoice number and dates would be wonderful. Review Source AG Aneta G. It is connected to our accounting software and makes reviewing reconciliations seamless. It it also super helpful in making sure we are on track, meeting our deadlines and when needed identify blockers or delays. Overall the interface is very user friendly and it is my favorite month-end collaboration tool ever (have tried two other ones but this is by far the most user friendly one). Cons One thing that can definitively improve is Slack integration. Would love to see slack reminders for reconciliations that are due but have not been signed off yet, currently the feature is only available for checklist items. Review Source AS Ash S. Set up was also very simple and did not take a very long time. Customer support is fantastic and quick to help with any issues that arise. They are also open to listen to customer wants and asks. Cons FloQast is good for the current company size, but I don't think that it would work for large sized companies with a lot of transactions. Great resource during a close because at other places (heavily dependent on an calendar in Excel), it can be difficult to assess what parts of the close are complete without constant follow-up. Our auditors and PCAOB increasingly require companies to provide evidence of the controls, controls performance and efficiency. Before FloQast, our team had to create and update our monthly close tracking sheets manually and had to meet almost daily during the close time to ensure all tasks are done timely. The manual process created errors, miscommunication, and delays. Now, with FloQast, our close is almost stress free. My team can work remotely if they want to and get things on time. No micro management is needed. Our auditors have their evidence and get their SOX testing done REMOTELY with less questions as well. As my team's manager, I don't have to walk or call anyone to see where and how things are. If I have comments, I simply put those in FloQast and can see the progress and responses. Our close time and costs are cut down by almost one-third. Purchasing FloQast is one of the best decisions we've ever made. The team at FloQast is awesome. The Software has been extremely user friendly and easy to work with. The FloQast team has been amazing to work with. Pros The checklist and reconciliation platform looks amazing. The software provides exactly what we're looking for in a close software. We have fully utilized the checklist for our month end close and other operational workflows. Cons The analysis and calendar function took some time to develop but the FloQast team has provided those updates recently.
