The system is easy to use and set-up, with not too many complexities, but enough robustness to shine where needed: The month-end close. Pros FloQast shines with assisting accounting teams with close management, by creating a centralized location for all close activities and management, regardless of what accounting system used for recording accounting transactional data. FloQast assists with checklists, flux analysis, and most important, reconciliations, to keep your balance sheet and income statement clean and to streamline an efficient, accurate, and reliable close. From functionality to assist with reconciliations from its reconciliation tool, and being able to streamline and manage accounting tasks, to improving the time to close, FloQast is one of the leaders in the market, and should be looked at by small to large, private and public companies alike. Cons FloQast does well where it focuses its attention: reconciliation, close management, checklist management, process reviews and approvals, flux analysis, and ensuring a close is done well. If you are looking for an FP&A tool for budgeting, or a financial reporting tool for financial statement preparation, this is not the tool. But where it sits, it sits very well, and meets a current market gap in many accounting systems. Pros It's intuitive and works the way accountants think! Its also quick and simple to implement and manage on the fly. Cons Minor items - daily occurrence tasks are not available, and inability to archive flux analysis that no longer apply without losing the history. You can't add a note in the Notes tab. –No task priorities (high, medium, low, etc.) or tags available in Projects. –You can view reconciliations and checklists together in Folders or separately across all folders, but you can't view all reconciliations and checklists together across folders (except in Todos but you can't filter there and only shows your items, not the team's). Super useful tool for close and to keep the reconciliation clean. Also helped a lot managing the workload for each of the team members Pros I like how easy is to use FloQast. The Sofware keeps all the tasks organized and everyone aligns with the due dates. I like the auto reconciliation feature. It syncs perfectly with our Netsuite system. We use Floqast every day, we also use it to monitor our tasks daily. Cons Currently having a small detail issue with the Auto-Rec feature since it is not manually picking from our Netsuite system. Cons Jumping around to sign off on various reconciliations can be time consuming due to the rec's opening in a new window each time if you are selecting them from the timeline view. It's intuitive and provides great visibility from tasks to reconciliations as well as workflows outside the close. The exceptional support and responsiveness of the FQ team made the implementation process easier than expected. Pros FloQast is easy to use and helps us to stay on track with the close process. It improves communication by providing visibility to everyone on where we are with the process. We can attach files to each task and reconciliation, making the review process easier and consolidating our files in one location. Cons Nothing negative. We have a quarterly call with our representative in which we can discuss any improvements we may need on our software. I would highly recommend with that in mind! Pros I love the fact we can import transactions from our general ledger into Floqast and can reconcile on a daily basis. This allows our whole team to see the reconciliations rather than just having it in an excel sheet. At first, we were a bit skeptical, but since the change we will never go back. The time saved is literally 3+ hours on the workday. Cons We are working through any improvements with our Floqast representative. Pros I love the ease of use, customization, and scalability. FloQast is a must-have tool to optimize your MEC processes. When I joined my last company, we had ~300 reconciliations and only ~150 checklist items. At the end of our close optimization sprint, we had over 600 checklist steps. The increased documentation allowed us to improve consistency and efficiency, and allowed us to facilitate team changes (both planned and unplanned). Cons Last time I checked, the bank rec automation tool wasn't fully integrated with our banking system and ERP, which didn't allow us to maximize the efficiency of the tool. I've been at other companies that have not adopted a central close platform and it makes a huge difference in knowing the status of close and who/what needs most attention to push close to the finish line. The Floqast team is always responsive and open to critique and you can tell they really adore their product and care about making it better by constantly producing value added features for its end user. Pros Floqast allows your whole month end process to be viewed within one easy to use website that syncs with the some of the biggest ERP systems. We can get real time updates with a click of a button which allows us to be in the know when it matters most. Long gone are the days of emailing for approvals and forcing even more items into your work inbox. Floqast can easily communicate in Slack and other communication apps to alert you immediately of items needing your attention. The auto rec recon functionality also carries the ability to replace cumbersome excel recons. Overall it's a fantastic, affordable, and cutting edge product that I would recommend to any size accounting/finance team. Cons Floqast is still in the improvement stage of some of their features which are a bit more time consuming then they could be. The uploading of account recons require you to go into folders, remember which folder your rec is in, and scroll to upload. This could be improved by just allowing a recon to attach directly on the recon tab of Floqast. Another area that could be improved is auto rec sync with ERP systems because it picks up any new additions in your GL but will not remove any items you may have removed/reclassed out of that specific GL account. With numerous hands in one account, this causes some headaches not knowing when items are removed and remain unmatched in the recon. Review Source AG Aneta G. It is connected to our accounting software and makes reviewing reconciliations seamless. It it also super helpful in making sure we are on track, meeting our deadlines and when needed identify blockers or delays. Overall the interface is very user friendly and it is my favorite month-end collaboration tool ever (have tried two other ones but this is by far the most user friendly one). Cons One thing that can definitively improve is Slack integration. March 16, 2021 5.0 We've really cleaned up our books, quickened our close, and kept cleaner records now that we have an easy way to roll documents along from month to month. We used to use a shared Excel checklist to keep our organization streamlined during the month-end close process, and now we have this great and handy tool to check off in a much easier way. It used to take our boss an hour or more to get all of our end-balances in a list to start the Reconciliation process, and that's an hour of her time back that she now has due to the roll-forward features of FloQast. Pros I like the Reconciliation and Checklist functions the best, which is essentially the entire platform, so overall, this system works great and is incredibly helpful for our month-end processes. Their support team is excellent in responding to questions and concerns, and for once, a company actually has a useful "FAQ" section. Cons Nothing, I would seriously recommend this to any accounting team. Maybe the only thing that bugs me is the speediness of the Refresh button, but that's very minor in the grand scheme of things. Plus, they have been very responsive in any suggestions or critiques we have of small feature improvements, and many of them have already been fixed in the few months our team has been using this software. Our auditors and PCAOB increasingly require companies to provide evidence of the controls, controls performance and efficiency. Before FloQast, our team had to create and update our monthly close tracking sheets manually and had to meet almost daily during the close time to ensure all tasks are done timely. The manual process created errors, miscommunication, and delays. Now, with FloQast, our close is almost stress free. My team can work remotely if they want to and get things on time. No micro management is needed. Our auditors have their evidence and get their SOX testing done REMOTELY with less questions as well. As my team's manager, I don't have to walk or call anyone to see where and how things are. If I have comments, I simply put those in FloQast and can see the progress and responses. Our close time and costs are cut down by almost one-third. Purchasing FloQast is one of the best decisions we've ever made. The team at FloQast is awesome. The software provides exactly what we're looking for in a close software. We have fully utilized the checklist for our month end close and other operational workflows. Cons The analysis and calendar function took some time to develop but the FloQast team has provided those updates recently. Pros The element I like most about FloQast is the visibility it provides to a manager or controller in the status of multiple entities in a consolidated close process. It links to the accounting system and general ledger and allows review, all in place. I was part of the implementation of FloQast and it was easy and intuitive to use. By using software tags, the utility is unlimited. I have worked in accounting for many years, attempting to link data from multiple systems. I can say that FloQast does honestly does this. Each staff member understands what they are responsible for and is notified when variances or changes in balances occur. September 12, 2017 5.0 Pros As the person who reviews most of the Balance Sheet accounts in my organization, I am very satisfied with this product. With daily uploads of the updated trial balance, FloQast lets me know at a glance, which accounts are out of balance. I am able to write comments, ask specific questions to the accountant in charge of reconciling the account directly within the software application. It is practical and user friendly. All of our reconciliations, support schedules and documents are located in one place. It is easily accessible to our accountants and managers, thus greatly improving our month and year-end processing. The FloQast support service is outstanding. They are very knowledgeable and always friendly and professional. Cons They are virtually nonexistent. This is not a stagnant program. May 19, 2017 5.0 Pros Gives me a great feel of where we are in the month end closing process without having to go around and bug my team to see where they are at or what they have left to finish. GREAT customer service!! No matter who I contact, they are quick to email back and fix any issue. Cons Going back and forth between BOX and FloQast. If we had multiple additional hours to add all of our reconciliations to BOX, it might be helpful for year end close.
