I have been a homebase user for over 5 years and have recommended it to several other workplaces and employee managers. Tech support has always been great to work with and issues are handled in a timely manner. I love the ease of use and user friendly mobile application.

Pros

Ease of creating shifts, schedules. User friendly interface. Easy drag and drop shift assignments. Reasonable costs.

Cons

I don’t really have any cons about this product.

Process flows, communication and messaging between departments. Recruiting, employment contracts, communication with employees and much more.

Pros

Centralized management of all employees data, with numerous configuration options for working time and contract types. It also offers options for implementing custom requirements and meeting regulatory requirements using APIs, custom workflows and employee questionnaires.

Cons

We would like to see more export options configurable via the GUI, for example, for creating performance reports based on time tracking. It would also be nice to be able to centrally export and archive all employees data into a single document.

### "Good and Easy, but..."

We use homebase for two different businesses. Overall it is good and easy to use, however they have some back end problems. When logging out of one of my accounts and into another, things get messed up. Sometimes it logs me into the wrong account. Sometimes it logs me into the right account but won't show any data. On the PC I can use incognito mode to log in and it is all good, but the app doesn't work that way, so I have to use the app for just one of my companies. That is a bit of a pain. The pricing is fair, but if the backend issues don't get resolved, I will look for a different solution.

Pros

Homebase is a easy software to learn. It covers the basics of what we need to do to schedule our team and communicate with them.

Cons

There are features that would be helpful but are not included lower tier plans, but don't warrant the change in pricing to go to a higher tier. For example, overtime calculation across sites. Or another example would be attaching documents to team members. These things would help, but the price jump to turn them on is too extreme.

### "Homebase for Stand Alone Businesses "

We like Homebase we use it for two of our businesses. Its easy to understand. Best used for stand alone business not idea for a mobile food truck because there is lot a locations section.

Pros

The interface. Ease of understanding the software. Easy to train a manager or assistance manager. If you use Clover it is already tied into their software making it easy for clocking in. Hard to get another clocking in program into Clover.

Cons

Main con is I don't think you can't use it for multiple locations even if its within your same one business. You have to purchase a second or third subscription for multiple locations. Not ideal for a mobile food truck. Much more for stand alone business.

The very best decision we have made that reduced our time with payroll and improved our recored keeping! Both management and our staff have been very happy with our move to Homebase!

Pros

We used ADP for 6 years. When we moved to Homebase we decreased our time doing payroll and onboarding. The system is rock solid and very easy to use. When I have a question, they are very responsive. The Homebase team is fantastic!

Cons

In our business the government requires breaks every 4 hours and in order to make sure that time is deducted by the system, we have to manually enter it for each employee's shift. While it does not take too long, it could easily be automated and I know other payroll system do it automatically.

### "A+ choice, glad I switched"

Excellent. Would 100% choose again. Have been using Homebase for over a year after switching from a large competitor. So happy I switched.

Pros

Ease of use; support staff is easy to contact, knowledgable, and extremely nice. Love all the features- payroll, tax collection and payment, ability for staff to exchange shifts, messaging feature, data gathering, scheduling, organization of onboarding. Homebase also works with MD/Dc tax reciprocity.

Cons

Geo-fencing doesn't always work with off-off brand old phones

Homebase was extremely helpful when I was doing franchise openings with multiple locations for restaurants. It allowed each location to have chats, announcements, schedules, and had everything neatly separated. The payroll feature was very cool for the short time we used it.

Pros

Extremely intuitive UI; easy to use for both administrators AND employees. The communication features, and security admin features were instrumental for the company I used it for.

Cons

The only complaint I ever had was that terminated employees could still use the messaging feature after termination as it would take some time to update and remove them. It created a few...situations for us, with disgruntled terminated employees.

We really liked it overall. We have very few problems and multiple users. I could easily see my staffs hours.

Pros

Easy to use. Easy to adjust time, log in, lock user log in. Ability to add and change times as well as verify if they were correct.

Cons

Sometimes logging in could be a challenge but it wasnt overall bad at all. We had genuinely good luck using this program.

Needs upgrade in software. Not something I would subscribe too. Got a lot of things need to work on. I give it 4

Pros

Timesheets and worksheets. You get to create work schedules in advance and keep track of employees time and hours.

Cons

Payroll, it's not integrated in the mobile app. Only for desktop version. I had hard time trying get it on mobile app

Pros

Scheduling and posting jobs was very easy!

Sometimes the app wouldn't show that someone had privately messaged - group chats always showed up though so it was a bit odd

Overall, it was good. We had a small employee base using it and it got the job done. It was a bit manual since we use a different payroll provider and had to manually input the hours. I'd recommend it for smaller businesses.

Pros

My favorite feature is that everyone could see who was currently clocked in. This made sure no one was contacting others during a time while they were off the clock. Our new timekeeping system through payroll's time and labor does not have this feature.

Cons

It did not have the ability for employees to update their own time cards with a request to an administrator. As the admin, I had to ask for a correction and manually updated versus receiving a request and simply approving.

Nice time tracking software, but clunky. The reporting is barely satisfactory, and we are still having to make calculations.

Pros

Easy tracking software for employee time off. It is simple for employees to use, and includes GPS validation if the employee uses their mobile device.

Cons

The website is not well organized at ALL. I am constantly having to click into multiple menus to find what I need. Nothing is where it feels natural to be, and there are too many options across a bunch of different places that all should be in the same menu. Holidays can be programmed for if an employee clocks IN for the day, but not for a holiday that isn't worked.

Pros

Ease of use. It is very easy to teach new employees how to use this app. All types of phones work with this app the same way.

Cons

Sometimes even if you are right next to the central log in area, an error will state that you are too far away.

I liked it overall, I feel that the software could have been a bit more advanced with how quickly it updated and registered outgoing and incoming punches. But overall a good value

Pros

It was easy to use and to get set up. I loved that it had a cash advance feature and that it showed how much you owed.

Cons

Sometimes the hours didn’t show until 24 hours later, or if you clocked out it didn’t register so the supervisor had to go back in and manually change it

I was happy with it. We used it for several years across multiple properties. Their customer service was always very friendly and helpful as well.

Pros

My favorite feature was the dashboard that combined sales and labor in real time to give me percentages and data at a glance. It was also very easy to fix timesheets or clock issues with my phone.

Cons

I don't dislike anything about it. Their UI was clean and for what it is, it worked very well. I felt the software we moved to has more features for the business as a whole that includes the features homebase has. But homebase, for what it is, worked great!

This app allows me and my entire to collaborate on everything from scheduling to specific task for each individual along with allowing them access to their pay.

The only downside I have found with this app is that some of my employees have had trouble downloading it.

Pros

Very relatable time clock, with zero hiccups over the years. Quite easy scheduling and also for booking time off.

Cons

Location access was not always accurate, and was easy for employees to falsely modify hours. Customer support eventually helped!

Overall it was great, i liked clocking in and out and found the system to be efficient and useful. I wish the time-off and holiday were on the free plan too. I think that would make more people want to sign up. Other than that I enjoyed it for two years. I would highly recommend this even if your new.

Pros

If your new to the whole productivity/time-keeping area then homebase is great starting point. It has some great features which as a startup i have used, such as building my own rota for the month and scheduling timeoff. also it comes with a free plan so you can make most of it before paying into a monthly subscription.

Cons

I would like some of the paid features to be free hence why i left and cancelled the account. Other than that if it had those i would have stayed.

I didn't like the fact that I couldn't do anything else on Homebase other than scheduling - I already have QB for accounting.
