I have been a homebase user for over 5 years and have recommended it to several other workplaces and employee managers. Tech support has always been great to work with and issues are handled in a timely manner. I love the ease of use and user friendly mobile application.

Pros

Ease of creating shifts, schedules. User friendly interface. Easy drag and drop shift assignments. Reasonable costs.

Cons

I don’t really have any cons about this product.

### "Great employee management software for small business"

This platform has been a game changer for my small business. It is easy to use, their support is always prompt and helpful, and it saves me several hours of work every week!

Pros

Homebase has easy to use features, I didn't feel like I needed a long training session to learn how to use the platform. It's intuitive, user-friendly, and packed with features. We love the fact that scheduling, timecards, payroll and employee messaging are all in one system, our previous system only offered payroll.

Cons

The auto-scheduling tool seemed so exciting, since I run a daycare and we have constantly changing schedule needs. However, it never worked well at all. I tried putting in all of the information but it would schedule people all over the place, leave classrooms without a teacher, or schedule staff for times they weren't available.

### "Good and Easy, but..."

We use homebase for two different businesses. Overall it is good and easy to use, however they have some back end problems. When logging out of one of my accounts and into another, things get messed up. Sometimes it logs me into the wrong account. Sometimes it logs me into the right account but won't show any data. On the PC I can use incognito mode to log in and it is all good, but the app doesn't work that way, so I have to use the app for just one of my companies. That is a bit of a pain. The pricing is fair, but if the backend issues don't get resolved, I will look for a different solution.

Pros

Homebase is a easy software to learn. It covers the basics of what we need to do to schedule our team and communicate with them.

Cons

There are features that would be helpful but are not included lower tier plans, but don't warrant the change in pricing to go to a higher tier. For example, overtime calculation across sites. Or another example would be attaching documents to team members. These things would help, but the price jump to turn them on is too extreme.

It is a great place for chat and communication. Provides real-time clock-in and clock-out for employees. It is secure for management to make their schedule, and for employees to access it on their mobile devices. It is great for management as it also offers payroll integration. It provides checklist, and task reducing making communication easy.

Pros

Homebase can be accessed from anywhere with just a few clicks. Homebase helps reduce a lot of manual labor. It is definitely value for money as it can be accessed for free. If not, Homebase also has flexible pricing based on the company's needs. It has readily available customer support.

Cons

It is simple to use, so really nothing to like least about Homebase. Considering that the Basics is free, a lot of small businesses can benefit from it. However, if you have more than 10 employees, for example, you can pay for their next cheaper version, and pay a few extra cents to add each extra employee, and benefit more of its features.

Process flows, communication and messaging between departments. Recruiting, employment contracts, communication with employees and much more.

Pros

Centralized management of all employees data, with numerous configuration options for working time and contract types. It also offers options for implementing custom requirements and meeting regulatory requirements using APIs, custom workflows and employee questionnaires.

Cons

We would like to see more export options configurable via the GUI, for example, for creating performance reports based on time tracking. It would also be nice to be able to centrally export and archive all employees data into a single document.

### "Sad sight for any client based company "

Not one that I will ever be able to give a chance for my use again. Paid $500!” Roughly for a year. Used it less that 30 days and asked to cancel and refund and 4 month now and have yet to receive my refund.

Pros

Unfortunately not a highly recommended use for anything. Highly priced for the quality of service to help answer any question or provide any additional assistance on guidance.

Cons

When setting up payroll for a new business they will not allow you to fully account for state/ federal taxes on payroll until you obtain a UI rating which cannot be done until you pay your first employee $1500+ in payroll payments. So pretty useless to have if they don’t allow you to pay anyone until info is provided which can’t be done until payment was processed

### "Homebase for Stand Alone Businesses "

We like Homebase we use it for two of our businesses. Its easy to understand. Best used for stand alone business not idea for a mobile food truck because there is lot a locations section.

Pros

The interface. Ease of understanding the software. Easy to train a manager or assistance manager. If you use Clover it is already tied into their software making it easy for clocking in. Hard to get another clocking in program into Clover.

Cons

Main con is I don't think you can't use it for multiple locations even if its within your same one business. You have to purchase a second or third subscription for multiple locations. Not ideal for a mobile food truck. Much more for stand alone business.

The very best decision we have made that reduced our time with payroll and improved our recored keeping! Both management and our staff have been very happy with our move to Homebase!

Pros

We used ADP for 6 years. When we moved to Homebase we decreased our time doing payroll and onboarding. The system is rock solid and very easy to use. When I have a question, they are very responsive. The Homebase team is fantastic!

Cons

In our business the government requires breaks every 4 hours and in order to make sure that time is deducted by the system, we have to manually enter it for each employee's shift. While it does not take too long, it could easily be automated and I know other payroll system do it automatically.

Homebase was extremely helpful when I was doing franchise openings with multiple locations for restaurants. It allowed each location to have chats, announcements, schedules, and had everything neatly separated. The payroll feature was very cool for the short time we used it.

Pros

Extremely intuitive UI; easy to use for both administrators AND employees. The communication features, and security admin features were instrumental for the company I used it for.

Cons

The only complaint I ever had was that terminated employees could still use the messaging feature after termination as it would take some time to update and remove them. It created a few...situations for us, with disgruntled terminated employees.

I find the app easy to use for administrative and the employees find it easy to use for employment information.

Pros

The schedule building part. So easy to make a schedule for over 30 people! The copy from a past week is a great time saver. We also use the timeclock. Very easy to correct those who forget to clock in or out. Also can tell by the dashboard who hasn't clocked in or isn't here.

Cons

Can't think of anything. We have had it for quite awhile now.

We use Homebase daily in a small Veterinary Hospital. With Homebase, we are able to track our hours worked and look at our schedule from our personal phones. We also use it as a communication tool, we have created channels where we can discuss team with one or many people from the team.

Pros

My favorite thing about Homebase has got to be the ease of having it all in one place. I can look at my timecard and my schedule on my day off. I'm always connected to my team wherever I go.

Cons

I like everything so far, I have not encountered any issues with security or any bugs or other issues.

Overall my experience was very good with homebase. I used it for 4 years until my business was closed due to the need and economy. I would recommend it to business owners with small teams. It made annual record keeping a breeze.

Pros

Homebase was user friendly, easy to add and remove employees, and great for record keeping. It was easy to share with my new hires and utilize for time keeping.

Cons

The location feature for clocking in was sometimes a little wonky. Manual edits were required for clocking in when it didn’t detect locations accurately.

Pros

What is like the most is that I’m able to keep up with my worked hours throughout the week . I also love the feature where once I’m clocked out , I’m able to pull money from that days pay which is extremely helpful

Nothing . The platform is very self explanatory and user friendly . I created an account and was able to immediately navigate the system .

Overall, we used Homebase for 5 years at this location. It worked when we needed it and we have simply outgrown it.

Pros

Homebase has a generally easy to use platform. It does a good job of allowing people to clock in and out for shifts and to create their schedule.

Cons

Homebase did not allow us to track hours across multiple locations unless we paid extra for it. It was not able to limit number of people on a shift, to our knowledge.

Overall I have been very impressed with Homebase and its ease of use. It doesn’t require a ton of training for new employees and easy to edit time clock errors from my phone!

Pros

I love using Homebase for my time keeping program for a college internship I run. I love the feature that I can see where they clocked in and out from so I can make sure they truly were at work when I have a day off. The ability to message all employees at once is very convenient when we have an important message to get out. I do feel like it’s a good value.

Cons

You are not able to download specific costs of roles which I wish you could. I do several grants and need then information for reporting.

My overall experience with Homebase is a 10/10. I would recommended Homebase to any business.

Pros

The ease and simplicity of using Homebases features is what makes it a phenomenal product for our company. It's excellent solution for our company because of all the features it offers. Homebase is a part of our daily operations, not just for its timeclock functionality, but we use homebase to communicate as a team.

Cons

The only thing that I do not like about Homebase is when a new hire already has a profile with a previous company that uses Homebase.

I like the easy layout. Even someone with limited computer skills can understand use this program.

Cons

You can not always resend an invite to a worker. If the worker does not accept and add it to their phone the first time, it is not always available to resend the invite to the worker a second time.

Homebase has been excellent for our small business, it offers the basic timekeeping tools that we need, plus many other features that can be added to your subscription.

Pros

It's easy for new users to get set up. Users can log time for multiple jobs or projects.

Cons

The only option for capturing time by a worker is to use a timeclock system, they can not manually enter time worked for a specific date.

It's ease of use! Super helpful for scheduling, communication and accessing team contact information quickly and effectively.

Cons

I exclusively use it for volunteers right now, it'd be really helpful if there was a setting that was specifically for volunteers, so that they didn't get a bunch of information that didn't pertain to them.

Homebase is an excellent payroll platform that is convenient for team collaboration as well as individual use. It allows for easy clock in and out, time tracking, scheduling, and direct messaging.

Cons

Homebase will not allow clocking in or out a few feet away from your company location. You must adjust your position precisely when attempting to clock in or out.
