Technology is great, people are helpful once you get them on the line, but they need to shorten the wait for the phone support line.

Pros

Hostaway advertises having a 24hr helpline, but the two times I tried calling, I was on hold for over 40min before I gave up and hung up.

Mostly terrible. I was sold on their 24/7 phone support, but no one picks up the phone or calls back when you try to use that option. My support ticket has been "escalated" for almost 3 days, and there is still no resolution, and only limited responses that mostly consist of "we're working on it". Due to the lack of price syncing, a reservation was made during my busiest week for almost $400 less than the pricing set on Hostaway.

Pros

My onboarding specialist was very nice and knowledgeable, but since then support has been a disaster.

Cons

I have had huge issues with syncing pricing across platforms. I pay extra for the dynamic pricing ad on, and even though the calendar in Hostaway shows prices correctly, they are incorrect in Airbnb, and for some dates, they show my pricing lower than my minimum pricing.

The onboarding process was smooth and well organized. The onboarding agent was friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive, which made the transition much easier for my agency, Bliss Caribe. Hostaway feels like a robust and professional system specifically designed for property managers. The integrations with OTAs are more complete and reliable than other PMS platforms I’ve previously worked with. This was a key factor in my decision to migrate. Overall, my experience with Hostaway has been very positive. The only challenge I’ve encountered has been with the integration process.

Pros

Value for money Customer support are always accommodating and knowledgeable. Booking management was good!

Cons

It would be very helpful if features such as the host cancellation policy could be displayed directly on the home screen, so there is no need to open the reservation details to access that information. Additionally, the integration process with third-party OTAs was quite challenging. It would be greatly beneficial if the system could provide a clear, step-by-step guide to assist users through the integration process. A smart, on-screen guide—such as prompts indicating which buttons to click and where to enter specific codes, similar to a simulated walkthrough—would make the experience much more user-friendly. This would ultimately help users gain better access and increase their opportunities for securing more reservations.

Pros

Hostaway makes my life easier by centralizing Airbnb, Vrbo, and direct bookings all in one place. The automation tools save me a ton of time with guest messaging, scheduling, and payments, and the reporting makes it easy to track revenue and performance. The direct booking website integration with Stripe has also helped me increase margins and reduce OTA fees. Overall, it’s streamlined and scalable for multi-unit operators. Shakira the Rep I work with is also wonderful.

Cons

There is definitely a learning curve at the beginning, especially when setting up automations and customizing workflows. Some reporting features could be more intuitive, and occasional updates can change the layout or settings, which takes time to adjust to. Pricing is also on the higher side for smaller operators, but the functionality generally justifies it.

Pros

N1no helped us- he was very kind, patient, and explained the issues. Most importantly he suggested solutions as a work around. He went above and beyond to help us find an answer and worked with his manager to send us communication to help facilitate an Airbnb cancelation without penalty.

Cons

It was frustrating to email with two separate support staff, both of which said our booking windows were opening up due to something we were doing and offered no answers or help with the Airbnb cancelation.

Its so detailed its quite complex. The process isnt very stratightforwards for our contractors in terms of getting alerts and notifications- not very user friendly so we are having issues with this

Generally good, and calling Host Services is great, someone actually answers and helps! Hostaway provides the services we need in one place. Tutorials are pretty good so I can usually fix or learn things on my own.

Pros

Company continues to update and make improvements with user interface and integrations. App continues to improve as well

Cons

Oddly there are some restrictions with permissions, even with highest level access. Example: we set up a new listing as pet friendly, then after publishing the property owner didn't want to allow pets. We removed all the pet settings, but the "pets allowed" kept pulling into the booking engine. Also don't like that automated message templates do not allow you to edit the Event trigger. The message has to be created in a new template. Would love to have a Host Service agent assigned to our account like we had in the past. When we put in a help ticket, our case gets bounced around to someone new every few hours. We likely the dedicated service agent but perhaps we don't have one since our account is less than 30 properties? When setting up new listings, Hostaway allows for a lot of information to be included. It's a lot of work and worth it except that much of the data we input doesn't sync to the OTA's. It's twice the work and a lot of extra time when we still have to manually enter the information directly into our other accounts.

My experience with Hostaway was an excellent experience. I started at another platform that was a horrible experience. I was so overwhelmed and thought maybe I should not be doing short term rentals. Hostaway saved me from a lot of stress!!! I highly recommend this company and I look forward to purchasing another short term rental. I am confident that Hostaway will help me every step of the way.

Pros

Hostaway was my savior. I am new to the short term rental platforms and needed guidance. I started with another platform and it was a nightmare. I was beside myself and was not prepared for my new bookings. Hostaway set me up with several onboarding calls and made sure everything was ready to go from taxes and financials, to automated messages and more.

Cons

I don't have any cons. \[sensitive content hidden\] was polite, patient and helpful for all of my onboard meetings. He answered all of my questions and guided me every step of the way.

### "A long but thorough process"

For the last 2 years, I (and my little boutique hotel the Dream Weaver in Puerto Peñasco, Mexico) have been with Hostaway under the umbrella of a different company while awaiting our documents in Mexico. I like Hostaway's tools and performance. For the last month, I've been working on taking our listings from Pisolino Rentals (the company we've been under for the last 2 years) to create our own account. Hostaway support team has been incredible in helping me do that. Almost as good as the support I have been receiving from Airbnb. I have been disappointed in the Sale part of things where emails sent were not answered. I chose Hostaway because I was led to believe that they are the best - and I can't judge because I haven't tried anyone else - but being a small boutique hotel, it was difficult to be left "hanging" in our operation during the switch over, while everything needed to be set up. Given all the hours I spent preparing for the change over, I assumed it would have been accomplished more rapidly however, the team members helping me in doing this transfer have been simply fantastic. My technological challenge and lack of knowledge about the transfer / integration may have partly contributed to my frustration (and dealing with banks in Mexico!!!).

Pros

Evaluating my experience with \[sensitive content hidden\[ at Hostaway support. She made this step of the process seem easy. I was able to follow her instruction, overcome challenges and successfully complete that part of the work. Giving the fact that there was more to be done, she set up a follow up call to complete the rest and make sure that questions that may come up meanwhile be answered at our next meeting. She was diligent, helpful, friendly and thorough. Evaluating \[sensitive content hidden\] of the Onboard process: Lots of help from 2 thorough and knowledgeable people. Very understanding of my situation, they have accelerated the integration process, scheduling meetings as quickly as possible and that is greatly appreciated.

Cons

Evaluating the whole Integration process: I didn't realize how much work there is to be done and how long it takes. I did MANY hours on my own to get everything ready and it still took a long time. I don't think this is a CON but rather a fact but this took me by surprise. I have found frustrating to have to follow directly myself with support of the partners affiliated with Hostaway. It would be simpler if the integration of EVERYTHING that needs to be done to be onboard could encompass ALL aspects. The last point is I didn't feel I was given all of the alternatives/choices in setting up ex: it was Stripe automatically with integration but in emails received, there were other alternative to Stripe that may have warranted a look at.

Pros

Cons

Like all good things, sometimes you have to wait to get support. But I see this as a positive, this means that Hostaway are spending much needed time with their customers and waiting for their service is so worth it.

Be warned, this is not the all singing and dancing software you would expect from the sales pitch. Several untruths in the sales process, extremely poor onboarding led to ongoing issues. I would never go down this route again if we went back in time.

Multi calendar is quite good and the airbnb connection.

Cons

\- onboarding was terrible and led to several double bookings with zero support to solve. Extremely poor. - onboarding of booking.com extremely poor. - customer service levels are very bad. Agents frequently don't understand their own software. - No response when querying a major billing increase with no warning. - Account managers leave regularly and no replacement given. - Several new features launched but existing ones don't function well. - Told that Hostaway incorporate new features into existing price by sales Rep Cory, 12 months in and they have released several features which are all at an additional expense.

Pros

\[sensitive content hidden\], Hostaway's support representative, was spectacular this morning. There were several issues with owner reporting, and he was able to walk me through a solution and and explanation. I'm thankful for his problem-solving skill and the way he gave me words to help an owner understand her reporting.

Cons

I'm not sure why the formula needed edited in the first place. It seems that it should have been an update or in place already.

Had a great experience! I always seems to have a good experience with Hostaway support. People are knowledgeable, eager to help and through in their response.

Pros

Quick resolution of issue and took the time to walk me through the steps to make the changes I needed to make.

Cons

It seems that recently there is a fairly long wait time to get someone on the phone who can help. But that has been the only issue, and I multi-task as much as possible during that time,

### "Avoid Hostaway — Unprofessional and Pushy Sales Tactics"

At first, Hostaway seemed promising. The sales rep, \[sensitive content hidden\] , was very responsive and friendly during the sales process. We paid the onboarding fee but quickly realized within three business days that the platform wasn’t a fit for our needs. When I explained that we had found a local company that offered a more tailored solution without the extra costs, \[sensitive content hidden\] responded by speaking negatively about that company. Ironically, when I asked the other provider about Hostaway, they only had respectful things to say. That contrast spoke volumes. After requesting to cancel, I received a string of increasingly pushy emails from \[sensitive content hidden\] , repeatedly trying to convince us to stay with additional discounts. Despite declining multiple times, the pressure continued. The worst part was when \[sensitive content hidden\] crossed a serious line: he privately messaged my mother, spamming her with emotional appeals and attempting to guilt-trip us into signing up. This behavior was unprofessional, manipulative, and completely unacceptable. Overall, this experience showed me how poorly run Hostaway is behind the friendly sales pitch. I would strongly advise others to avoid this company.

Cons

Pushy, unprofessional, even messaged my family after I declined.
