Pros I love that Later is a visual planner - it helps me make my IG a lot more cohesive, and visually coherent. I also really love that they have a link in bio tool - makes my life super easy! Cons I wish the story scheduling was included in the free account, apart from that, it costs a decent amount to add on more social accounts. Pros Easy to use scheduling. The menu that you can add to your Instagram bio is very useful and a great added feature. The conversations screen is also very useful. Cons In order to use the product your accounts need to be business accounts. That limits your creator privileges on Instagram. Prices have gone up, so it is a bit expensive. Pros It is overwhelming managing many pages on different social platforms, and that’s where Later , comes in . This software helps you manage Facebook, Instagram and Twitter account in one place . You can schedule your post easily, you can have a preview of what your post would look like which a lot of software are not offering. It is very easy to use and has a mobile app, making creating content on the go very handy. Pros Easily add stock photos to your media library; create, save & reuse captions and hashtags; has TikTok scheduling options. The free link in bio is easy to set up and use. Cons Later only allows a certain number of posts per social account per month unless you have the top tier paid account. I appreciate that Later provides more flexibility in formatting of your IG captions, as compared to using the IG app on your phone. I also love being able to upload several photos at once, and see what my profile/feed will look like after adding new content. It's also great that it can connect directly to your Dropbox or Google Drive, to easily access photos from there. Cons I only have the free option, so I am of course limited in accessing all that Later has to offer. Pros There are so many tips and tricks on their blog which perfectly flows with what their website is all about. It allows you to link photos and the bio which is helpful. Easy management! Cons The website is much more user-friendly than the app, which is annoying seeing as most social media is done through mobile. I also wish the app allowed for a first comment section for hashtags, rather than putting 20+ hashtags in the caption, most users post a comment with their hashtags. June 17, 2018 4.0 Pros I've tried several different Instagram schedulers, and they all work virtually the same way. Later is similar, but the best part is probably its calendar feature. Its well thought out and visually very easy to get a quick grasp of your post schedule. It's also easier to use than many others I've tried. Cons The downside to Later is the Achilles' heel of the others I've tried: actually posting scheduled posts. Posting to Instagram is not like posting to other apps; the "scheduling" feature is more like a reminder to post a certain image or video that you've already created. You have to be present when the notification goes off to actually post it. This may not be a problem for some, but if you post on a different device than you carry around with you, it can present problems. Of course, if you post frequently you will need to upgrade. Pros I started using Later in order to increase my posting schedule on Instagram. I found that this was very easy to use and had a very clean look and functioned well. I have been using this software for the last three months and increased my following by about 200 because I am able to schedule posts to post while I am at my other job and it saves me to time and money. I really like the auto posting function the most. I have become grateful to find this software. I also think it's very affordable compared to competitors. Cons When I use auto post through Later it doesn't share to all of my social media the way that it would if I manually posted through Instagram. Photographer Photography Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Not for Photographers" May 11, 2020 3.0 At the end of February we decided to switch platforms because we were planning to onboard a few additional clients and the price point was favourable. We asked using their online chat if they could automate stories and carousel images and they said that they could. We scheduled one month of posts, and then COVID-19 hit and we were hit with a wave of other issues that took our attention away from our social media. We realized later on that LATER did not post carousel images or Stories automatically - but rather would just send you a reminder to do it. When we complained to the company and after two weeks - they finally replied and said that the one month review period had lapsed and therefore our year subscription is no longer refundable. Needless to say we have a full year subscription that we are not using and letting lapse because there is no use for us. Complete waste of time and money. Pros The platform is simple to use and connects to our accounts quite quickly and is easy to set up. Cons The platform does not publish stories or carousel images. Instead Later will take your content, schedule it and then remind you to publish it. So if you're a photographer that likes to post 3 stories a day and post carousel images, then go use SKED where it is automated and scheduled. LATER will just nag you with reminders to post stories and carousel images. Review Source Sean A. If I did, I would be so distracted and never have time to do anything else. Later is easy to use, great for scheduling posts all at once so you never have to think about it in the future, and it has a calendar view so you can see everything at once. Cons Using an app to post to Instagram may have a bad result on engagement. For me it doesn't, but I've heard of it happening before. Pros I love that you can upload all your media into a library and it will keep track of which photos have been used and not used for you so that you never repeat content. I also really like the drag and drop interface. Cons You can only use one brand at a time for the free version vs being able to manage multiple, but obviously that's understandable.
