Customer service / Tech Support are super responsive and available. We have utilized their training videos, knowledge base AND one-on-one training. Pros Whenever I have a question or run into a roadblock SEMRush customer service is a phone call away. They're super responsive and very helpful. I've never had a bad interaction with them and always get answers within hours. One of the best things is the versatility of the software. SEMRush is constantly improving the tools adding features. I was a beta tester for their SEOWriting Assistant and love the tool and how it integrates into Wordpress sites (via plugin) and with Google Docs (add-on) Cons There is currently no ability to report on individual page internal linking. Some features are a little difficult to navigate to - for the longest time the SEO Writing assistant was buried in the site. Gosh! it's such a powerful tool for finding the best performing marketing and low-competition keywords. Some years back, on major ads investments, I use to get just about 42% profit ROI...After several keyword analyses and competition in general, today, I am able to hit hard on the right target and this is thanks to the advanced keyword insights I get from Semrush. They have quality customer support services, I must admit that they are doing a good job. This tool is simple to use, if you ask me yet, remains a fire rocket for any marketer who's willing to explore high marketing ends of the digital world. Cons Although they do offer two weeks( and sometimes 30 days ) free trials, On the first attempt, I tried signing up for a trial with my master card but got declined on several occasions...which I truly believe, wasn't due to my card but probably, some internal errors. This is an aspect SEMRUSH should think of improving if they want to increase their customer retention rates. Secondly, they should consider setting affordable subscription plans. Not all businesses can afford to spend up to$100 and above per month on just SEO...They should give thought to this. February 21, 2022 5.0 While using Semrush I have increased my front page Google search result keywords by 10x, I have created far more sales volume and increased my traffic from search by 100x. Semrush is a critical tool for everyone that is running a website. Pros Semrush has a huge selection of tools to better understand your website traffic and better understand what your doing correctly and what you need to work on. You can track your position on Google and exactly what your site keywords rank. Using tools you can check what keywords your competitors are using and where they get traffic from. You can also research new keywords relating to your site that can greatly increase your traffic and search visibility. Cons The only downside I have found for Semrush is it is a little on the pricey side for membership but at the end of the day the amount of valuable data provided far out weighs the cost. To get results, I'm always searching for trustworthy data and actionable insights. That what makes Semrush my go-to tool for content research and optimization. As such, an SEO strategy must be comprehensive. Pros When it comes to search engine optimization, digital marketing, and business intelligence, Semrush is the one-stop solution for all of your requirements. Semrush allows me to get a better understanding of my customers or targets' demographics, such as their age, gender, and location, so that I can provide them with the most appropriate products and services. Day after day I'm more and more surprised to learn that spamming backlinks might do more harm than good to my search engine rankings. The Semrush Backlink Audit tool was the best assist for me in identifying and removing them, as well as a variety of other harmful elements. IMO all options are reasonably priced, with the exception of the Semrush Pro plan, which is prohibitively expensive for small and medium-sized businesses. Cons The product's friendly UI takes some expertise and awareness. Beginning SEO and digital marketing learners might take a cours on technical keywords, but overall it's not that big of a problem. What I didn't like the most about Semrush is that you can only log into one account at a time. However, if you share it and someone else logs in with the same account, the original user loses access. It would be nice if Semrush could fix this issue and notify any future users of unauthorized access. Have to pay to use each feature feels disingenuous...do I get no acknowledgement of using the software for over five years now? It would be nice to "test drive" new functions to determine if they offer value in the process. Having to pull out a credit card continually to add more data, or additional users, or test new features can bloat the price tag for Semrush considerably. Finally, having to reach out to Customer Service each time to you need to reconfigure your services is unnecessary in this era of SaaS -- improve the backend account management tool so users can "see" what they are paying for, please. Firstly, the abrupt decision to escalate their monthly pricing from a manageable $69/month to a staggering $120/month with only a month's warning came as a real shock. The shakedown for fees is significant and troubling for long-term users with planned budgets around the initial rates. The sting of this price hike was exacerbated when SEMrush decided to monetize what was once a free offering – the Social Media Poster. This fundamental/clunky tool, now costing users $20/month, used to be a free feature, which makes the change feel like a rug pull.Further lowering the product's user experience is the user interface with an array of premium features. This is unnecessary clutter, overwhelms the tool, and complicates staff training. It's frustrating to sift through elements not part of our basic plan. No one wants to see features that they can't use.The platform's UX/UI is a throwback to the 1990s (i.e., tons of vertical and horizontal nav tabs, tags, breadcrumbs, etc. They should upgrade the front-end framework to something more modern and intuitive.Also, they call and email weekly to push users to upgrade. We started with $50/month& we'll never pay for the $250/month Guru plan. Please take us off your weekly dial-for-dollars calls. :) Pros The best thing about the service was the price increase of 110% in one month. The user interface is sloppy and difficult to navigate, but it did the job well. It was worth the hassle for around $50/month, but I strongly recommend other options for the $140/month (basic plan + social media poster). Cons The tool's UI is cluttered and dated and has many premium features that aren't useable with my current plan. No one wants to see features that aren't available unless you pay $250/month (we were paying $69/month before the latest price hike to $120/month). The site doesn't work with modern browsers like the Brave web browser (multiple page refreshes required). So it allows you to cover a lot of bases, but not necessarily become a pro at any one of them. Cons The navigation of the tool is very un-intuitive. I feel like there are almost too many options on the left hand side of the navigation pane. It makes it feel more complicated than it actually is. There are also some features (like site audit), where it will tell you that there is an issue with a link, or that you've decreased in performance for a keyword, but then it does not offer you insights or recommendations for how to fix it. So it's like a doctor telling you that you have an infection, but doesn't give you a treatment plan. Not super helpful, thanks though. May 30, 2018 4.0 It really is a great one-stop-shop for all your SEO and PPC tools which is fantastic. So if you're looking for an easy package to cover most all of your digital marketing needs then this is really about the best that you can do. Pros This is about the best all-around SEO software that you can find. It does a good job at about everything and doesn't have a lot of weaknesses. The competitive analysis is really the best reason to buy the software, it's comprehensive and gives you a good look at potential competitors. There are always new features being added and tested which is fantastic and gives the software good value. Some features are better than others, but the audit and competitive analysis really are fantastic. I've used the software in various forms including Business, Guru and free. The free version gives you a taste, but the full experience is generally worth the money. Guru is worth the extra money over Pro as it gives you branded reports and the ability to manage quite a few more projects. Exports and reoccurring reports are very nice and simple to set up. Overall, this is a great tool for SEO and PPC campaigns. If you need an all-in-one type software solution then I would recommend SEMrush as it's probably the most well-rounded tool you can find. Cons If you're looking for rank tracking then I'd suggest looking elsewhere, it's a little wonky and not as easy to use as other rank tracking solutions. However, if you don't want to buy multiple pieces of software then the rank tracker will get the job done. The software is kind of a 'jack of all trades, master of none'; so you'll be able to get by with just this as your main piece of software, but if you want something a little more specialized then you should probably look elsewhere. You might end up not using a lot of the tools because there is so much to explore, but most of the tools that are there are pretty valuable. Cons The only thing I can think of is that there are SO many amazing tools available, it can be overwhelming knowing where to start or how to use them to make the most out of the software. Also, sometimes the social media poster bugs out, which can be annoying (i.e. you scheduled a post but something gets disconnected on their end and the post ends up not being posted). The last thing is that you can only have one user logged in at a time unless you upgrade and spend a ridiculous amount of money per month. I didn't get a lot of hand-holding through the exchange, but SEMRush made it pretty easy to pick up where the company had left off with the agency, and through personalized sessions, I was able to start gleaning more knowledge about our organic search, as well as new things like competitive analysis of what the other companies in our space were doing on various search and social media platforms. Pros Getting started seems daunting, but within 30-40 minutes, I had a majority of the core things set up that we wanted to track including our list of 250-300 keywords that we had been tracking, a list of our competitors, our social media, our analytics, and other items that we wanted all in one place. Cons Sometimes it was very easy to get lost in the weeds with the sheer volume of data. Trying to navigate was sometimes not as clear as it could be, especially for someone new, but once our rep took us through a few things, it was a little easier to navigate without getting too lost. Pros The most helpful thing with SEMrush is that everything in contained within the one program, and you can share the data for each of the different areas within it. For example, keywords, you can define your keywords list in one area for say how you're ranking currently but then use the same keywords to understand competitive analysis, further keyword opportunities, and then bring them over to content marketing. Cons the only time i had issues and this is partially just the way our business was setup, I have a large number of sites that I look at which were all managed separately by different people, they've been consolidated now, but retain the same login details for things like search console, GA etc. so when running reports, having to switch between accounts to make sure all the things match and can pull reports easily is a challenge since only one Search Console and 1 GA account can be connected at a time. Pros The most valuable part of SEMrush for me is the Keyword Magic Tool. I love that I can easily view related keywords and get suggestions for more competitive keywords that weren't on my radar yet. Volume and Keyword Difficulty are the metrics I use the most. They have helped me rank on the first page of Google for clients with certain keywords. In addition, the Intent feature is really helpful for knowing why people are searching for a particular keyword. Cons I do wish the Keyword Magic Tool would bring up more suggestions sometimes. For example, I might search a keyword that popped up on Google suggestions but that SEMrush shows no data for. It would be helpful if the software brought up any related keywords even if there's no data for the exact wording I'm using. However, this is a small nickpick.
