Pros I like the ability to have multiple rooms for different committees within one platform, and the ability to keep documents organized and accessible. Cons It would be great if it were easier to link items within an email sent to a committee. There are a few workarounds which make things work, but this process could be a bit more seamless. Pros It's agenda producing capabilities and secure file storage. Additionally, I like the security and ability to control who is able to view and submit materials. That's about the only thing I like about . Cons The agenda set up. We are not able to put in the time expected to give to each item on the agenda. Perfectly organized. Easy to create calendar invitations and send an email to board members/ committee members if any new document is added to the library. Pros Creating a meeting book is simple. I can add any document I want, separating the agenda, committees, and supporting documents. Cons Any file that I added if I just want to view the file, it downloads. I prefer a separate option for downloading a file will be more beneficial than when I click the document and it immediately downloads to the system. Whenever I add a file, it automatically downloads when I just want to view it. I also enjoy the attendance feature to track who is present for meetings and who is not Cons It feels like things can be found in multiple places and it makes it hard to track items down when first learning the platform. I also wish the library in a particular work room was in sequential order from top to bottom and not bottom to top. I was able to learn the platform quickly and am confident that it is meeting nearly all of my needs. Pros is incredibly easy to access and is user friendly. I have had no issues training my Trustees on how to use it. I appreciate how I can customize the landing page so that I can store files in different workrooms for committees. Cons One thing that I would love to change is related to interactive documents. For one of my committees, we have a tracking spreadsheet that we all should be updating based on individual assignments. I wish that could function a little more like Google Docs in that regard. Pros Intuitive interface, very user-friendly, quick uptime for new users, a reasonable expense for a non-profit, ultra-secure data transmission and storage, and great people supporting the entire platform. Our non-profit member organization has endorsed this product (and this company) for over 3 years. We've grown from just 4 member customers of to well over 30 member customers - n just 3 years. I serve as a top-level administrator for a shared platform version pf BoardEffect and I find that this platform is so user-friendly to non-techies. Cons Every so often I would love to copy/print text from the screen but it is not always accessible as in the old days. This is probably the price for having a highly secure and intuitive interface. It is easy to get board materials loaded, the user experience for trustees is excellent, it is easy to use and the customer support is outstanding. There is every feature you really need to manage a board, but there are improvements that could be made to make it even easier, but it would require partnership with other software companies and a robust API. See below for more. Cons The one thing that nags me about this software is entirely not the fault of , but the lack of vision between this software and complimentary software platforms. Take us for example, we are a national private foundation. Our main business software is a grants management platform called Fluxx. All of the proposal for trustee review happen within this portal and it takes a lot of work to get these ,materials exported and prepared for upload into BoardEffect. Having a robust API and partnerships with software companies like Fluxx could allow a seamless flow of information between systems, which would negate the need for wasting time on export and preparation of documentation for BoardEffect.
