Pros Being able to search through posts is EXTREMELY helpful. I don't really understand why this isn't a standard feature in other team messaging apps Cons Polls limit you to select an expiry time from a pre-selected menu of 1 hr, 2 hrs, 3 hrs, etc. That makes it difficult when it's 8:18am and you want it to end at 5pm. You have to either select 418pm, or 518pm. Not useful. Similar to Slack but with a neater interface in my opinion. Cons Flock is pretty feature rich, but some of the integrations can be a little clunky and less than seamless. Cons The bots are just way too much! I have had to turn off notifications and still feel like I am hearing way too many dings. While you can assign tasks, this is not a simple or easy to understand and follow-up. Pros I love how easy it is to use for a company. You can add members who work there and take away once that leave the company easily. It helps with productivity as I do not need to get up and go down the hall to ask a coworker a questions. I can just Flock it to them. Cons The BOLD and ITALIC features don't work that well and there is no auto-correct or auto capitalization for the I in the program. The system could use a few upgrades in that sense. But, that is my only complaint as everything else is great. Although Flock's look is different from slack's it is however in my opinion a good substitute for Slack. Flock's competitive pricing also makes it endearing and worth a try. Flock supports file and media uploads and the possibility of creating different channels for varying conversations among team players. Cons So far, I haven't observed any flaw that is worthy of note. May 6, 2018 5.0 Pros Our team has tried a few different collaboration.communication platforms in the past, but none really worked right within our team dynamic. My boss found Flock and instantly we were all hooked. It is simple, seamless and look me less than an hour to feel like I had really mastered the software. There is nothing crazy that stands out about Flock but something about the functionality of it was truly better than the rest (not just in my opinion, but in my whole team's). Love that it syncs across all platforms as well and text notifications are helpful. Cons Not the most visually attractive platform...I would say middle of the line, doesn't personally matter to me. I've used multiple team communication tools - Slack, Stride, Google Chat, Chanty, Microsoft Teams. If budget is not an issue then you should always prefer Slack. I was using Stride(from Atlassian) - they retired the product and i'd to find an alternative. I finalized on Flock after evaluating all of them. Cons If you've used Slack, it's a little difficult to migrate to Flock. Mainly because the user experience is not as good as Slack. For example, I can create a task on Todoist by using /Todoist inside flock. 2. Loads fast compared to other similar types of communication apps. 3. Keyboard shortcuts. 4. Ability to create notes, polls, and to-dos. 5. File sharing feature is superb. 6. Multiple organization capabilities. 7. Ability to create reminders. Cons 1\. I think the only con is that there are too many updates, have to keep restarting the app when they update. Pros Flock is a user-friendly instant messenger system that allows our office to have individual and/or specific group chats relating to everything from a current project we are working on to ordering lunch.
